Sarah Michelle Gellar, Seth Green, and Eliza Dushku are the only A-List actors of the buffyverse. They are the most successful. But out of the three, Seth and Sarah are the A-Listers.Seth and Sarah are always on CJ, Extra, The A-List, The Insider, ET, and all the entertainment shows.Sarah and Seth are always on teen magazines, movie magazines, tv magazines, and Fashion Magazines (Sarah only for this one). They are the most known out of all the actors, to non-buffy fans. They have almost become household names. If you think there are other buffyverse stars that are the most successful, please post your comments here.Alyson isn't an A-List.To non-Buffy fans she is mostly only known for American Pie, and That 70s Show. She isn't a household name, or an A-Lister.Alyson isn't in magazines, or entertainment shows. She is only in the buffyverse magazines.

Get it right, none of them are A-Listers.

As much as I love me some Sarah, shes no A-List Celeb. And if Sarah isn't an A-Lister, then definately none of the other cast members are.

You've got B-List celebs, duh, like Sarah, Seth, Eliza, Alyson and potentially Emma. And the rest are C and most likely D Celebs.

I think Sarah is the only one who could ever make it to that level. Maybe Eliza.

Because the A-List is a respected and talented group of actors like Nicole and Brad and etc.

But right now, SMG isn't one of them. Maybe in the future.

Personally, I pretty much agree with everything SlayerThe says, except this part; "I think Sarah is the only one who could ever make it to that level. Maybe Eliza."

Me and Richard Roeper (of Ebert and Roeper) think Michelle Trachtenberg could develop into a legitimate movie star.

no way is Emma an A-Lister. I'd say Michelle Trachtenberg is the next closest thing to being an a-lister from the variouis casts.

I agree. Maybe they are b-listers. Marc Blucas has had a lot of film success recently, but he is definetely not an a-lister or b-lister. More of a a c-lister.

Hadn't thought of Trachtenberg, but yeah, she actually could make it to the A List. As it stands... I'd consider SMG to be at least a borderline A-Lister... She's a recognisable name, and gossip columns consider her well worthwhile.

I dunno if Dushku has the ... I'm trying to find a better word for this... blandness?... required to make the A List. I think she's more likely to become a sort of Alternative A-Lister. I can't actually think of any examples right now, but I'd know 'em when I'd see them. Angelina Jolie?

Erm... am I being senile again, or did we have a really, really similar topic to this not so long ago...?

It's going to be interesting to see what The Grudge does next week. I think it could be pivotal to SMG's career. If it's a hit, it could move her into the A list. If it's less than a hit, it could freeze her in the spot where she is, and she'll always be "that girl from Buffy".

Very interesting point.
Allyson, Seth and Sarah have all broken through to mainstream. A-list ? Maybe not but they all have active careers, especially Seth. The other actors may yet make it. Only time will tell. There is a lot of talent in the BTVS and Ats pool. Unfortunately there are also a lot of very talented actors out there who are formidable competition. James Marsters isn't in a new series or a major motion picture at the moment but he is first and foremost a great character actor and I have no doubt that someone will decide that fabulous actor plus fan base should equal a parts in good films. I hope doors open for all of them. They have given us so much in the way of wonderful characterizations that I would hate to think that the label of genre ( fantasy ) actor would hold them back from new and meaningful work.

Indeed. I think The Grudge was a clever choice of stepping stone. On one hand, it's horror, so a lot of Buffites are going to follow her over. On the other hand, because it's based on a cult Japanese horror film, if it's half decent, it'll bring a lot of movie-buff cred, both to the wider public and hardcore followers of Ju On as a saga. (A surprising proportion of Ringworms have adopted Naomi Watts as their own...) What I found particularly interesting, is that great care seems to have been taken to make her Grudge character a woman, as opposed to a girl...

Cordelia was interviewed by A&E as one of the most famous people of the year over at Madame Tussaud's with my famous Colleague Faith on Saturday and Cordelia was asked about how Cordelia felt about Sarah's new movie opening up the same week as mine and I can truly say that Cordelia is slightly worried that Sarah may outshine her.

Apart from SMG I would have to say SG, AH and ED.

Amber and Nick have appeared in a few films, but they didn't take off like Scooby and Austin.

Another I would have to say, although he isn't that famous is Danny Strong, we have seen him in little roles in good movies like Shriek and other american teen movies.

I completely forgot about Michelle. Good points Jill & N4H.

She may even give SMG a run for her money. I wish Europtrip would have done better, because it was a really funny movie.

I'm hoping the Grudge isn't compared to the Ring and seen as something unique. Because it is.

I don't think any of them are A-list actors. But I agree that Sarah is the only one, right now, who could maybe be considered as one.. If I would ask people I know, the only names they would recognise would be Sarah Michelle Gellar and Seth Green (if you don't count that they would recognise some names just because I tell them about them everyday).
Anyway the name on the thread is "The Most Successful Buffyverse Actors", and that's not really the same is it..? I consider many of them to be successful although not A-list actors.. Maybe to be an "A-list actor" isn't their main goal..

True.

The real movies that get critical praise are usually the ones that do not pay very much.

Like Halle Berry. She won an Oscar or Golden Globe or whatever, then shes goes to make Catwoman? You can tell she did that for the cash.

Same for Nicole. She went from the Hours to the Stepford Wives and a few other poor taste movies. Me thinks money?

C
Cordelia
Me thinks so too!
Both Sarah and Seth are A-listers, though Seth isn't a household name. Eliza is B-list because her only hits have been True Lies and Bring It On, both of which she wasn't considered top billing. Alyson is close to A-list because of the American Pie movies. I think Michelle could potentially become A-list.

Not that I think Nicole is in the need of money but I do agree.
(But you shouldn't forget great movies like Dogville, I guess she didn't so that cause of the money..)

i think david could make it too the a-list all he has to do is some smutty pictures ortopess pictures and once girls see his rgorgeous body he'll be known by everyone

Um...NO.

It takes way more than that to be an A-List. Besides his topless self was seen many times on BTVS and ATS and still it didn't help him.

hehe this is a topic? anyhoo whoever said that none of them were a-listers is correct. Who could be one any time soon? I don't think any of them.

I would like ASH to not per se be an "a-list" celebrity but I'd like him to have more offers and do more roles. James also may one day ascend to a better status however that's far off and prolly many indie movies down the road. Eliza Dusku isn't a bad actress but she's definetly an actress who needs "just the right" role for her to shine and how often does that happen? I wish them all well but especially Mr. Head.
