Good movies, Allycat. 🙂

These are the ones that I can think of at the moment:

-Shakespeare in Love
-Galactica
-The Talented Mr. Ripley
-Girl Interrupted
-Memento

I know that there are other excellent movies, but I can't think very well at the moment. My brain is kind of fried from school. I'll probably add to my list as they come to me.

I have to date myself and say Almost Famous.

Not only does it have all the music I loved growing up to, but it's about Cameron Crowe, who I was always sick with envy of because he was only a year older than I was, and already published in Rolling Stone.

(It also features a scene where I can catch a glimpse of someone reading the first issue of Circus magazine I ever bought.)

In the US this film was called Point of No Return, and is a remake of La Femme Nikita. And, is excellent 🙂 It's from what I like to call my "Dermot Mulroney" period. 😀



Okay...I would have to say:

Empire Strikes Back/Raiders of the Lost Ark: Yes, the original Star Wars Trilogy permeated my childhood and was pretty much it for the duration...but aside from that. I blame these two films for starting me on a lifelong search for Han Solo/Indiana Jones and peppered my life with a never-ending string of scoundrels.

The Outsiders: My sister rented this once when my parents were away on vacation and she was babysitting me, because it was her favorite movie. And damn, what a great movie and great cast. It gave me an awareness of the fact that there was a world outside of my town.

Empire of the Sun: I saw this in the theater with my parents at age 10. Faith and I have decided that this movie started my love of British actors as it contained my first movie crush, Christian Bale. Not to be confused with my first tv crush, Johnny Depp. I would also say this got me even more interested in WWII.

Timeline: Okay, this one is a little new to be on a list like this, however, considering the number of times I've seen it I'll make an exception. This movie has one of the greatest thinking man's quotes: "You make your own history." And yes, another arachaeologist/scoundrel movie.

I guess I'll stop there before I get really out of hand 😀

Golly, garsh, darn, gee! 😀 Please forgive my silly mixed up head...I have a tendency to do that...I don't call my kids by the right names half the time...it's pretty sad really...so sorry...*eghem* I MEANT good call BUFFY! Outsiders was a GREAT movie! It was required reading for us in 7th grade and we watched the movie too...I was so in love with all of the guys...ah jeez...I'm going to bed...😱

(LMFAO...and of course I see that Faith has CHANGED her Av now...I'm hopeless...)

American Psycho, good choice... did you that the main character in AP is the brother of the main character in TROA. Patrick and Sean Bateman, both based on books by the same writer.
 
I didn't know that, how interesting.
I heard that Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Psycho, and Silence of the Lambs were all based off one serial killer.

The novel upon which the film (Psycho) is based was inspired by the true story of Ed Gein, a serial killer who was also the inspiration for Deranged (1974), _Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The (1974)_ , and Silence of the Lambs, The (1991).
