The music of BtVS

Hey guys, I'm making new thread again...I get so self-conscious.

So, I wanted to know how you guys felt about the music in Buffy the Vampire Slayer(show). Not just the scores made for the show, but also the music played by actual bands at The Bronze, and the popular music played to amplify certain scenes(example:Sarah Mclachlan on sad endings).

Did you ever hear a song on the show and had to search for the band who made it because you loved it so much? I know I found The Sundays that way!

I saw from the whole radio-Buffy thing that we have some pretty varied tastes, but I want to focus on the shows music.
 
Love a lot of the bands from The Bronze, became a fan of Michelle Branch because of the show. I saw Four Star Mary play as well, years ago.
 
Bif Naked from 'The Harsh Light of Day' was the only one that caught my attention enough so I actually had to find out who it was.

Can't say that I've got around to listen much to her anyway unfortunately... but those songs in that episode is great.

I think the only song I grabbed from Buffy was Transylvanian Concubine by Rasputina.

I like them. I like listening to the Buffy CDs and if you told me the singer/band that played one of them, most chances I'd know who you're talking about.
 
I like a great deal of the music on BTVS. I have both CDs (BTVS Soundtrack & Radio Sunnydale) and listen to them a lot. I loved that they used mostly unknown bands, and that a lot of them play live at The Bronze.

My favorite is of course Aimee Mann and her speaking part at the Bronze. 🙂
 
I didn't really like most of the music used on Buffy. The only one I really liked was Lucky by Biff Naked.

I know it sounds weird, but I prefer Parker over Riley. Even after all he's done to her. At least he didn't call her stupid twice in one season like Riley. Just a toilet seat that follows him around.

Yeah, I had never heard of Aimee. She is a great singer though, that's another one I had to pick up. Also "Sunday Mail" by Spectator Pump, man I had to find out who did that song, just that little snippet from Grad Day part 1 was enough to make me search for a day.
 
Michelle Branch..I got All you wanted and Goodbye to you. I loveee those songs.. and just between me and...all the people on this forum 😀 I tear up whenever I listen to Goodbye to you 🙁 AND I got Out of this world by Bush. And of coarse I have OMWF on my ipod..though I got the episode for 2 bucks cuz the songs where expensive.

Never heard of Aimee Mann?! 'Til Tuesday, "Voices Carry?" Man am I old. 🙁
 
I didn't think the music was that great..
I like Bif Naked - Lucky, and I really like K's Choice - Virgin state of mind.

And also Touched by Vast, from an Angel episode. but that's it.

Didn't know her before Buffy either. Though I liked her on Buffy.

Sarah Maclachlan's (how the hell do you spell her last name??) is one of the best when it comes to background musics on Buffy. Her voice always moves me. The scene after Buffy kills Angel, her song in the background touches me and I start crying. And of course her song at the end of season 6, forgot its name.

Heather Nova's "It's only love" during the love scene in "Touched", is great also. By the way, I decided that Spuffy's official theme song would be this one. I decided that because I can!

Awesome song, awesome scene, of course I love Heather Nova (& Sarah McLachlan)- both before I heard them on Buffy.

For those of you who don't like the music in the series, can I ask why? What kind of music do you like? See, I adore the late '90s/early '00s alternative stuff.

Oh jeez man, I had no idea they were the same person, of course I know "Voices Carry" Holy hell, what a revelation! I only ever heard her on the radio and i was too young to care who sang it then. Wow, I feel silly now.😱
