Honestly, as a young single woman looking at the eligible males in my life? Yeah, great time to be single.

In all honesty though, I would very much advocate for at least a year of total independence after moving away from parents, finishing college, etc. I've known too many people who get in relationships right after being dependent and they generally just end up needing to rely on their partner for more than is reasonable.

Do yourself and your S.O. a favor. Learn to take care of yourself.

Single life is the best kept secret. I never want to give it up again.

The only reason I would ever be in a relationship again is if the guy has money. No pony for me, no ride for him.

I duno, from a hyper independence pov I agree, but on the other hand, the girls I went to high school with, who lived in their parents home until marriage (some lived in boarding dorms/share houses for uni before returning home again) are set for life, and we arnt 40 yet. They got head start in that way, to go straight from education to secure housing, marriage and kids. Its not a route that appealed to me but it's definitely the most supported and secure route in this part of the world.

Okay, I have to agree with you there. As someone finishing up my degree, I have to say I SO wish I could jump from one secure household to the next. Unfortunately thatโ€™s not my situation, but hey, if you get dealt those cards, donโ€™t throw them away!

My point mostly stands from a relationship/maturity point of view. 90% of the relationships Iโ€™ve seen in my life end in divorce, annoyance or grumpily running a house with someone you donโ€™t like. Iโ€™ve seen SO many young relationships begin, only for one side of the couple to realize itโ€™s more of a โ€œparent/dependentโ€ relationship than a partnership.

And can we all agree that no one likes a man/woman baby?
