CHAPTER 14 part 2

THE WEDDING

Giles had wandered off leaving Turee to explain how the prophecy may have been found, and by whom it was that read it. Dawn theorised that it had been written recently or that some-one had gone back in time knowing when it would be found and by whom, Dawn suggested it was Gregor or Turee.

Giles came back, deep in thought.

"What is it Giles ?" asked Turee.
"I just saw Xander, he's having a bad day. He gets them sometimes, he has problems coming to terms about the way he treated Anya. I wish there was something I could do to help him," said Giles.
"How about if I ask Anyanka how she feels now, if she's of a suitable mind- set I could bring her here," said Turee.

[*] "But she's in another place in time, she's a vengeance demon there, why would she want to help Xander. Wasn't she brought back into this time without the necklace ?" asked Giles.
"Did that time only happen because of the wish, more importantly did it cease to exist when the wish was stopped. It was, in theory that time that was changed to create another, so just because everything went back to normal did that place in time stop being. The answer is no, it didn't. I can go there and I can see Anyanka," said Turee.

"Well if that's so is there anything you'd want me to get ?" asked Giles.
"A small pair of wire cutters and something to break the power centre again."
"The necklace still exists there ?" asked Giles.
"Of course, that's why Anya wanted to go there initially."
"I hope she isn't gay in that time," said Giles.
"Why do you say that ?"
"She took vengeance on men, what if she's killed all men ?"

Turee looked at him, then disappeared. Giles got a pair of small wire-cutters from a draw in the office, he'd just got back when Turee re-appeared with the demon Anyanka.

"I will wait in the office, you get Xander here, if he still wants me, well then we'll see," said the vengeance demon.

Giles had only been gone a minute when he returned with Xander.

"Have you asked Xander what he'd do if he saw Anya again ?" asked Turee.
"I'd apologise to her, I'd ask for her foregiveness, if I could make her happy in any way, I would," said Xander.

The office door opened.

"Then marry me," said Anyanka.
"I will, er at least I would, if you weren't a vengeance demon," said Xander.

Anyanka removed her necklace, she became Anya.

"Will you still marry me ?"
"Not the best proposal I've ever had, but probably the best, I hope the last. If the necklace is destroyed I will marry you."

Anya offered the necklace to Giles, he took it and destroyed it, again.

"Just a thought, how about me sending these two on a holiday, Giles and I will set up a party with a wedding theme. Keep the real reason a secret from every-one. So Xander who should be the best man ?" asked Turee.
"The same as last time, Oz."
"What about the bridesmaids Anya, who should they be ?"
"I agree with Xander, the same as before."

"Well Tara isn't here, but I'll do what I can," said Turee, "I know a nice quiet place, it's near Perth in western Australia, a little place called Toodyay. I know some-one who was born there, she lives not to far away."

Anya and Xander had been in [ 2J ]Toodyay for a few hours, they realised that it would be helpful if they had a guide, as Anya had a conversation with a girl called Bronwyn they decided to ask her. As it was Bronwyn was only to happy to help them, she even borrowed a car from her friend Cassie who live in Darlington.

The bridesmaids from the previous wedding try-out were happy but they all insited that the outfits were changed to suit them. Joyce told Giles about how she tricked her girls, it was agreed that the 'trick' was amplified.
Vi invited a few of the girls to go shopping, she 'accidentally' stayed window shopping too long at a couple of shops, the jewellers and a wedding dress makers.

Giles had also left an altered roster for the museum along with holiday brochures, and a wedding guest list with a wedding present list for him and Vi. Several people were stunned, especially when Giles and Vi were seen cuddling. Then Chaser topped the rumours when she went to the hotel reception and noticed on the doodle pad that some-one had written Mr and Mrs Rupert and Vi Giles invite you to their wedding, several times.

The day of the 'party' eventually happened, a restaurant had been specially prepared, luckily no-one had thought of checking the outfits for Giles or Vi, if they had they'd have soon realised that they were the wrong sizes.
They boys were sat on the right and the girls were sat on the left. Several figures were noticed at the back of the room.
Giles stood at the front, as the wedding march began Buffy and Dawn followed Vi onto the aisle.

"I'm sorry Giles !, I can't do this !," shouted Vi, and she ran from the room.

Dawn froze, she stared at her sister.

"What do we do now Buffy ?"
"Dawn Buffy, quick, back here," called Spike.

There standing next to him was a slender figure in a wedding dress, with a heavy veil. Once again the wedding march began. Spike escorted her down the aisle, Buffy and Dawn followed her. They reached Giles who was beaming. Spike took Buffy and Dawn by the arm and led them to the back of the room the bride lifted her veil, but no-one recognised her !.
Dawn looked but she didn't know her, she asked Turee, the bridesmaid beside her turned around to face Dawn.

"But, but your Tara !, your dead !?"
"Didn't think I'd miss this did you ?" asked Tara.

Buffy saw the bride, who moved to join them.

"Who are you ?"

The bride lifted her veil.

"Anya !" exclaimed Dawn, "how, your you, but how, umm, how."
"Sorry Dawn, I guess you just can't keep a good demon down."
"You died in Sunnydale, what's going on ?" asked Dawn.
"Xander wanted to say he was sorry to Anya. Anyanka said she would accept his apology, but only if he'd marry her," said Turee.

Spike held Anya's arm as the wedding march began again, she covered her face with the veil. They slowly headed for the front and to Giles. As they stopped at the front Spike screamed, then held his head and dropped to the floor in front of the girls sat on the chairs. Suddenly he stood up roaring, looking and sounding as a vampire. The first row of girls were quickly in the third row.

In the mayhem nobody had noticed the extra figure in the room, then Spike returned to normal, looked at the minister.

"Thanks Gregor."
"Xander, you may kiss the bride," said Gregor.

She lifted her veil for all to see her.
Dark clouds filled the room, lightening shot around the room.

"Anyanka, at last you've got your wish, I'm glad. Didn't think I'd miss this did you. I used to have thousands of vengeance demons, thanks to Spike and that amulet most of them died. Mind you, then I was a Lord now I'm King D'Hoffryn of Arashmahar and I have many more vengeance demons now, so thank you Spike. None of them are as special to me as you Anya, I still have your wedding present from the last time, although there seems to be two of them now."

"Don't get me wrong, I'm glad your here, but how did you escape the effect from the Amulet ?" asked Xander.

"I was in Pylea, it seems that your miss Chaser did more than she thought as Pylea is now in this dimension. Illyria, your home world is a quiet place again. Spike, you may have not intended for me to be a King, but you have done, for that I'm grateful. I see that you also want for Xander and Anya to be happy together, so if you ever need help, you may call on me."
"Thank's," replied Spike.
"I will go now," said King D'Hoffryn, and he vanished.

"You know Giles, the one that was King before had a picture of Willow flaying Warren on his wall, he was King Lloyd," said Turee.
"I'm not sure which is stranger, the King of vengeance demons being nice or the fact that there was a King of vengeance demons called Lloyd," said Giles.

"Well Spike, you've really done it this time, thanked by the good and the bad."
"What ?" asked Spike.
"Oh trying to be Mr Blunt are you, what's up trying not to get the pointy end of the stick," said Xander.
"Let me see, I chose to be here for you Xander, so did D'Hoffryn," said Gregor.
"A-ha, the blunt man gets a point back from Xander," said Spike.
"You what ?" asked Xander.

[*] About then town of Sunnydale in Cordelia's wish
Lets suppose that you built a sandcastle, you then rang a friend in a nearby country and said about that sandcastle, they wouldn't know anything about it. To them it would be unknown, even as if you'd dreamt of of or that it was simply one of your.....Nightmares.

To you it exists, but not to them, so it could be just a dark place cut of from the rest of reality, or as a sandcastle on a beach

CHAPTER 15

THE CARNIVAL

Angel rang Giles about an advert he'd just read in the local newspaper.

"There is a fun fair nearby, how about getting every-one to go there ?"
"Sounds ok Angel, it should be fun for them," replied Giles, "seven thirty tonight ok."

Giles rang a few places so that the word would get around. Angel told Nina and asked her to ring every-one.
At just after seven thirty that evening, the folk from AI and the council place started getting into the cars and vans that were going to the carnival.

Angel and Nina casually walked around the fun fair, Nina kept an eye on the various rides and side shows.

"Look at that one, a gypsy palm reader, could be fun," said Nina.
"I don't know, I don't have a good history with gypsies.
"So don't kill any of them," pointed out Nina, "go on tell the others."
"Ok," said Angel, a bit reluctantly.

Angel went of to find the rest of them, soon people began to congregate where Nina was.

"We'll send in Faith and Spike first, we'll be able to see if the reader is any good," said Nina.

"There's no-one waiting to go in, not a good sign," said Spike,
"Either that or he know's what is about to happen," replied Faith.
"Which one of you two is going to volunteer first ?" asked the gypsy.

Faith sat at the table, handed over the money and held out her hand.

"The palm reading first ?"
"The sign says your a palm reader, I should know what you do, hey your the reader not me."
"Ok, good point, I'll do the hand first. Lets have a look here," he says studying her hand, "your a girl, a strong girl with a, now that is a long life line. Just a minute."

He uncovers a crystal ball atop a bronze tri-angular frame, in laid in the table is a large pot for water scrying.

"I'll use each one to get a better feel and a clearer view of you, dependant on your perceptiveness, will be how definitive my view of you is. Now let me try again, work you've done. Hmm, you used to be a farmer, keeping animals, you kept," he looked into the water," really, really big ones. We'll leave that, what, do you do now.....your fighting a ma..no, what is that that your fighting. They don't exist ! a vampire.

I've only ever heard of one vampire and he is a legend, he killed one of my tribes ancestors," said the gypsy.

Faith, puzzled, looked at Spike.

"He's better than we gave him credit for. Hmm a gypsy ? he's only heard of the vamp that killed one of them ?" Spike looked straight at the gypsy, "he was cursed by you lot, its Angelus isn't it ?" asked Spike.
"How do you know of that, how do you even now his name ?"
"I've known him for over a hundred years, you might like to tell your family the curse still holds, it nearly failed but this girl went into Angelus's nightmare and with Angel they fought with Angelus. It was Angel that lived on, he still lives, he's outside now !"

"That demon lives !?"
"Oh dear, he was cursed remember, he was given a soul ! he isn't a demon."
"But, he is the only one, right ?" asked the gypsy.
"No, tell you what, read me. It may help you," said Spike, "ask what I am and what I was."

The gypsy looks into the mist in the ball and into the waters,

"I see a man, in victorian type clothing, my God !, he, er you are being attacked by a vampire. Now I see two of you, one fades and one stays here. You, Your a vampire, no, wait, your a human, how ?"
"I don't understand that bit either. Look we could spend the night here, but other want to see you, we'll send in the next," said Spike.

Outside the tent Spike looked at Turee and Proserphone.

"He is good, but easily surprised."
"He didn't try to see his own future," said Faith, "otherwise he'd have been ready for us, but like Spike says, he is good."

Turee and Proserphone entered the tent and sat at the table.

"Which one of you two first ?" asked the gypsy.

Turee leant forward, she held the cards, then spread them out like a fan, then picked ten cards out.

"Tell me if you want anymore cards," said Turee.
"The judgement card, why do I get the feeling that it's you judging and not that you are being judged ?, there's something else here, your not what you think you are, it's like I see you, but there's something stopping me from seeing the rest of.. oh, wait, ah !, oh, that makes it, it's you, you don't see who you are," said the gypsy.

"Don't look to deeply at Turee, you'll see clearer if you don't look to hard," said Proserphone.
"Ok, not what I'm used to," said the gypsy.
"Turee has more knowledge of the now and the then, than you do. Think of a person, then ask her who your thinking of," said Proserphone.
"Ok, Turee, tell me."

"The person is Pythagoras, he was born in the 6th century, in Samos. A Greek philosopher. He started a school, not what we would think of though, he taught others of the road to the divine through the use of numbers, nice enough bloke as long as his way was accepted, didn't like others views. He was a bit domineering."

"Your still a bit sceptical of us, how about juggling ?" asked Proserphone.
"What, oh my god !"

He saw that Turee was juggling the crystal ball, without touching it.

"Lets see what your powers of observation are like with instinct and inspiration, and insight. My friend here, her fathers name begins with a Z, who is it ?" asked Turee.

After waiting half a minute there was still no answer.

"He's not good enough, or he's too afraid of being wrong," said Turee, "we aren't going to judge you, if your wrong don't worry. Your answer won't be repeated outside this tent,"
"Turee is a seen as a 'W' but she is a 'G' as am I," said Proserphone, "you don't need to answer straight away, we'll send two others in."

They went outside to meet the others.

"Giles Xander, your turn," said Turee.

Angel, Nina, Spike and Dawn had gone to go on a ride together, it was near to the gypsy's tent so they weren't going to far away. They sat in the 'car' and patiently waited, Nina and Dawn shouted several comment to their friends. Slowly the ride began, then quickly it lurched backward then forward and gathered speed, as they sped past the tent Dana turned to Buffy.

"Dawn's scream, that wasn't a scream of enjoyment."
"I thought that, it was a screaam of fear, almost horror."

The other slayers joined them. Buffy looked to Faith and Turee.

"Stop the ride, somethings wrong with Angel and Spike," said Buffy.

The ride was stopped, with Nina and Dawns 'car' next to them all. The gypsy could see Xander in the crstal ball, he was trying to understand why he was surrounded by people when the flaps to the tent were caste aside. Angel and Spike were brought into his tent, they were surrounded by the slayers, Xander and Proserphone helped Dawn and Nina. The gypsy went to join Giles and Turee.

"What is it ?" asked Giles, "what's going on ?"
"There something else wrong here isn't there Turee ?" asked the Gypsy.
"I hope not."
"Can you cope with this ?" asked Giles.
"No, but it isn't just us anymore," said Turee, "Angel and Spike have just become vampires again, maybe as they were. Help is here."

"Okay," said Gregor.
"Where did you come from, who are you ?" asked the gypsy.
"Mind where you stand Giles, the army is coming Turee, the Elite are here."
"How did the marines hear about this ?" asked the gypsy.
"Not that army, the armies of good, the foot soldiers of God are here," said Gregor.
"Turee ! Spike wants to speak to you," said Faith.

"It was the ride," said Spike, "when the car lurched, Angel and I our heads hit, then we weren't able to revert. I saw total Fear in Dawn's eyes, so Angel and I hid our faces from others."
"Gregor," called Turee, "it's ok, send them back, all is well."

As they settled down

"What just happened Turee ?" asked Giles.
"Remember how I said about the final battles being soon, well it's now very soon. The waiting has begun, even a little sign like what just happened, but all is well," said Turee.

"Anyone else for me to see ?"
"No more readings tonight, we'd best let them settle. There's Illyria but I don't think she'd let you see about her, then there's Dawn and Buffy, but I don't want you, or them, to know who and what they are just yet," said Turee.

"That's ok with me," said the gypsy, "I've seen enough tonight, lets face it, all I thought about was normal life, now I know that there is more, a lot more. I do know that we are not alone, help is there. I understand now what Xander is, and I think I'm beginning to understand what the 'G' in you meant."

He knelt to Turee and bowed to her.

THE NEW ANGEL INVESTIGATIONS

CHAPTER 16 part 1

THE SECOND FRONT

Giles and Wesley had been talking with Gregor about starting a second base. Gregor said that there was a young couple, a Steven and Linda, he'd been in contact with, they should find a suitable place for them. After Giles had asked where and Gregor had provided them with a few more details Wesley indicated that it seemed a good place to go.

Two days later, several of them were due to leave. They were Kennedy, Saffron, Julie, Xander, Anya, Wesley and Illyria. Dawn had been asked if she wanted to go but she declined saying that she wanted to research Spike's new found humanity, and of course everybody believed her, Buffy said a few choice words to Dawn.

"There's less of an age difference between Spike and me than there was between you and Angel, what about Xander and Anya ?"

For some reason Buffy had been unable to find a witty reply.
A mini-bus had been bought for the travellers, it had been used by a family as a travelling home, as such it was thought that it would be safe for Wesley.
Being as how he had a problem with sunlight it was decided that they would leave at eight at night.

Giles and Wesley told the girls they had measured the luggage area and they said there was only enough room for two suitcases each. Illyria and Wesley's clothes nearly filled one suitcase, the other was for his books. Xander and Anya's stuff was packed, the furniture would be sent later courtesy of Turee air. A schedule had been agreed upon so that a chest of drawers wouldn't be sent when a fridge was being moved.

Giles and Wesley had been having a bit of fun at the girls expense,there was enough room for three suitcases each, the girls would have been told, problem was every time the situation began to present itself some-one would wander around wearing one of the girls tops. Giles and Wesley thought that that was highly amusing, until Wesley was informed that making a slayer give away her good clothes, and as so, being upset with a vampire wasn't a healthy thing for him.

Wesley was told that he'd better hope the slayer didn't become an immortal. In the spirit of true friendship and bravery Wesley dropped Giles in it, far enough for him to need to clean his glasses. He then went and hid on the bus. As it was the slayers knew of the trick and had played along with them. As soon as the group left Giles was told how the slayer had been playing him.

Wesley proved to be more of a problem, everytime he 'overheard' the slayers say about their clothes all he heard was, 'we need to end his' he never heard them say 'misery'. That ended as Kennedy was driving, all the electrics stopped working, Wesley was able to direct her safely to the side of the road. As it was, a police car had been following them, the officers tried to help them. The fun began really began when one of the officers started to pay attention to Illyria.

Illyria asking to be keft alone was okay, but the policeman kept on, so when Illyria told him to leave her alone or else, well, they were all given room and board in the lock-ups. The girls were held in a cell together, so were the boys. The problem got worse when their fingerprints were taken, the police had a bit of difficulty getting Anya's and Illyria didn't have any, they were kept in separate rooms.

Anya attracted the girls attention, then by breathing on the window she passed on a message,' slayers call Turee, Illyria by herself, she might just blow a fuse'

Turee was sat, having a conversation with Giles, Joyce, Dawn and Spike when the message came through. She told Giles then left.
Two drunks had been put in the cell next to the girls and they were getting a bit of unwelcome attention, that stopped as Turee appeared to the girls.

"What is it Kennedy, what's wrong ? all I got was 'slayers call Turee Illyria blow fuse'.
"We got a message from Anya, about Illyria being by herself."
"Okay," said Turee, "leave it with me."

She thought to Anya.

'Watch when the clock goes backwards, then look to where Illyria is.'

It wasn't long before Turee appeared to Illyria.

"Turee, what brings you here, all's well here, I'm okay, so are the others."
"How do you know the others are ok, I was told that you being alone would be a problem," said Turee.
"I've visited the others a couple of times, just by slowing time," said Illyria.
"Why didn't you stop and speak to them ?" asked Turee.
"Simple really, can you imagine those drunks, when the sun comes up and their watches show three o'clock ?"

"That's a point, why are you here Illyria ?" asked Turee.
"They couldn't find any finger prints on me and Anya has a couple missing."
"I'll take care of the finger prints, when you visit the others, let them know you've been," said Turee.
"Ok, tell Anya to write on the note pad if there's a problem, I'll put a tick when I've been to see her. With the others, leave the pillows at the head of the bed if all ok, if they need to speak to me put the pillows at the foot of the bed, I'll put them in the middle when I've been."

Turee agreed with Illyria, she let the others know what was happening then she went back to see Giles.

"Illyria's ok, but we need two sets of fingerprints."
"Best not use mine," said Faith.
"You can use mine, just don't tell them what a nuthouse is," said Dana.
"Anya can use mine, they should be ok," said Andrea.

Turee went back, organised with Illyria how to do the fake finger prints.

"Why did you stop here at all Illyria ?" asked Turee.

Illyria explained about the lights on the mini-bus, then how Xander thought it would be nice to see the town of Roseburg, as Willow's family name was Rosenburg.
Two hours later they were driving into the sunrise, except for Wesley, he was in a cupboard, shaking. He had kissed Illyria then spent awhile trying to explain to her that kissing was a good thing.

"Why are you driving so fast Xander ?" asked Julie.
"Anya and Illyria had too use Andrea's and Dana's finger prints."
"Fair enough," said Julie, "this place we're going to, I was told that something real bad happaned there, but I wasn't told what."
"An ascension took place there, back in seventeen seventy three," said Xander.
"I've heard about them, not good, how did you know about that, Imean your not exactly a book type ?" asked Julie.

"Anya was there just before it happened," said Xander.

Linda and Steven were sat on the verandah, having a beer when the mini-bus stopped in their drive-way. Xander and Anya went to introduce themselves.

"Gregor did say we would be coming didn't he ?" asked Anya.
"Yes, we've been expecting you," said Linda.
"We've got the right place," Anya shouted to those on the bus.

As they all sat about on the verandah.

"Gregor said that you help him to rid the world of demons, as we seem to have a few here you will be wanted, even the church leaders have seen the problem," said Linda, "but who are you all, what do you do."
"My name is Xander, Anya is my wife, she used to be a vengeance demon, these girls are Kennedy, Saffron and Julie, they are vampire slayers. Wesley is a vampire, he and Illyria are just good friends."

Xander rolls his eyes then dramatically looks to the sky. Illyria gazes at him.

"What is Illyria then ?" asked Steven.
"Illyria luckily is a good friend to us all," said Xander.
"Why do you say that ?" asked Linda.
"She is the Goddess Illyria, when she came here to this world she was a Hell-God, one of the ancient ones," said Xander.
"Did she know any-one here ?" asked Steven.

"No," replied Xander.
"Yes I did !," said Illyria, "she and I grew up together, we were friends then, and we are friends now, even though she is not who you know her as, she is your friend."
"Who is she ?" asked Anya.
"She is too important for you to know about the what she really is," said Illyria.

"Where will we be staying, Steven ?" asked Kennedy.
"You can all stay here tonight, then in the morning I'll show you the other house we've got, it's near some sheds. I've checked the house, it's been empty for years but it's ok and the services all work. It just needs some TLC. Er Xander, there's a big shed that we can do some improvements to, make it liveable as I've been told that there might be a few others stopping here."
"Can some one show me the place when it gets darker ?" asked Wesley.

While the rest of them chatted Wesley and Illyria went for a drive around the local area, they pulled up after a while to look at the map.

"That house over there, people have gone in but there are no lights on," said Illyria.

As they watched another person came, entered the house, but still no light came on.

"I'll take a look," said Wesley.

As he was looking around the house a car drove up. The driver approached the front door. Wesley looked at him, bearded, small frame, slightly balding, middle aged bloke.

"Excuse me," asked Wesley just as the front door opened.
"Hello Adrin, who have you brought with you ?"
"I didn't bring him Suzy, I didn't know he was here until a second or two ago."
"I was going to ask for directions," said Wesley, "we are looking for a couple called Steven and Linda, they've got a farm not far from here, I think."
"Come in, I'll draw you a map," said Suzy.

"You know them ?" asked Adrin.
"Sure, they sell the goats milk," said Suzy.

Wesley went back to Illyria.

"Nice enough people, I think they're witches, best get Turee up here to meet them," said Wesley.
"I'll do it," said Illyria.

Turee appeared two minutes later.

"So where are they then ?" asked Turee.
"In that house," said Wesley, "come on."

The three of them got out of the mini-bus, crossed the road and went to the house.

"What is it, oh its you again," said Suzy, "what do you want this time."
"Wesley told me about you people, I could feel that you are good, white witches. So we've come to be friends with you," said Turee.
"Who is it Suzy ?" called some-one from the front room.
"Wesley is back with two others, they think we are witches, that we are ok."
"So bring them in here then."

Suzy takes them into the front room.

"So Wesley, that was a lie about you looking for Steven and Linda's place ?" asked Adrin.
"Not really, we do know them, we just got there tonight."
"So you think we're witches, how did you know to come here ?" asked Suzy.
"We didn't know you were witches before, Illyria and Wesley were already here, they asked me to come and meet you," said Turee.
"Where did you come from and when ?" asked Adrin.

"I came from LA, a minute ago. I got here using what you'd refer to as an advanced form of astral projection."
"You say that you want to be friends and you say that," said Suzy.
"Believe what she says, we want to be friends," said Illyria.
"My name is Phillippa, I am a witch. You want to be friends, start by telling us about yourselves."
"Wesley is cursed."

"What !"
"As I said, Wesley is cursed, he is a vampire, he calls Spike dad," said Illyria.
'Turee, I think there are other vampires coming here,' thought Illyria.
'I agree, I'll get some slayers here, you give them protection,' replied Turee.

"Do as they say, It's for the best," said Wesley.

The witches moved to the end of the room as Buffy, Faith, Saffron, Julie, Kennedy and Molly appeared in the room.

"It's you, oh fantastic !, hang on, Caleb killed you, what are you doing here ?" asked Kennedy.
"I know this place, I know these people," said Molly.

Molly looked at Turee, then knelt to her, quickly Turee help Molly stand up.

"Your in the wrong place Molly."
"But you are here, and, oh my god," Molly pointed to Buffy and Faith, "the.."
"Don't speak, you are in the wrong time," said Turee.
"Wasn't Molly a potential slayer ?, Giles brought her to Sunnydale with him, Kennedy is right !, Caleb did kill her," said Buffy.
"Molly was never a potential slayer, she is an immortal demon hunter, she is from another dimension," said Turee.

"Be that as it may, the vampires are nearly here," said Illyria.
"So it's the wrong time, yet I'm in the right place, let me help," said Molly.
"Girls there is about six vampires near here, if you would convince them of the error of their ways," said Turee.
"That was a nice way of asking us to dust them," said Faith.
"Did make it sound polite," said Buffy.

As the girls went outside.

"Suzy, your with me," said Turee, "it'll help you to understand all that I'll be saying to you."

As they got outside, the six vampires faced them.

"Good grief," exclaimed Suzy, "they are vampires."
"You four get behind them, Faith and I will distract them," said Buffy.

Faith and Buffy fronted two of the vampires.

"Get out of our way, we are here for a witch," said one of the vampires.
"She's a witch," said Faith pointing to Suzy, "didn't say that to politely did I Buffy ?" asked Faith.
"Just a bit," replied Buffy.
"Should have been a bit more grumpy," said Faith, "want me to try again."
"Bit late now."
"Too late ?" asked Faith.

"Yep, these silly vamps just don't know it," remarked Buffy.
"They are not silly vamps, they are idiots, they're just a bit young," said Faith.
"Faith these vamps are not idiots, there just to stupid to realise it," said Buffy
"Stupid !, I'll go with stupid," said Faith.
"Shut up you two, our master, The Kuh-rotan wants the witch dead."

Suddenly Saffron, Kennedy, Julie and Molly each thrust their foot into the backs of the vampires knees, dropping them to the ground, Molly depatched them with an arrow each, from her cross bow.

"That was really quick !, how did you do that ?, where did you get the uniform from ?, when did you put it on ?" asked Saffron.
"This is the uniform of the Armed Forces of Byzantium," said Molly.
"More importantly," said Kennedy, "those two are still standing."

Buffy and Faith slammed a stake through each of their vampires hearts simultaneously.

"Molly, I want a cross bow, are there any more of them ?" asked Saffron.
"We've all got one," said a puzzled Molly.
"How many is that, one, ten, fifty, what ?"
"One, ten, fifty million, no-one knows, we are immortal, we never stop."

"Time for you to go Molly," said Turee, "come over here."
"I'm glad I was able to be of help to them, Turee. I've never seen Faith not in her uniform before, and it was nice to see Buffy for once. If ever the hunters can be of use to the vampire slayers, please call on us."

Molly disappeared.

"I'm thinking of what you said to me, when I was in a coma, Buffy. A higher power guiding us," said Faith.

CHAPTER 16 part 2

"Come on you two, we'd best get back inside now," said Turee.
"You expect me to tell my friends what I've seen ?" asked Suzy.
"That's why you came out here."
"So we are here to help you rid the world of evil ?, another way of looking at that is, we are here to help you. Does that mean that we won't be the ones to stop the evil ?" asked Saffron.

"You were all chosen, chosen to help stop the flow, we will end that, that could start the flow again," said Turee.
"I'm not looking forward to this," said Suzy.
"Tell them what you've seen, the truth," said Turee.

As they settled in the chairs in the front room.

"There were some vampires out there," said Suzy, "they had come to attack us, these girls are vampire slayers, not sure about the other one that was here. Thing is these girls knew what they were doing, they even joked in front of them. As for Turee and Illyria, well they have some serious power."

"Illyria is my friend, she has chosen to be my friend, I'm unsure when she was born, but probably before time itself was measured," said Turee.

"I came to this world to kill another Hell-God, I found out that Buffy was largely responsible for killing that Hell-God. My age does not concern me, I am only concerned with the doing, and like Turee, that is only limited by what I want and when I want it," said Illyria.

"I would like Faith and Buffy to return now, get as much information as you can about The Kuh-rotan," said Turee, "I'll be staying at the farm for awhile."

"I don't want you to think I'm being pushy Suzy, I do think you should get all the help you can from Turee," said Faith.

At two in the next afternoon Giles rang to speak to Turee.

"That demon, the Kuh-rotan, he doesn't appear in the books, so he's really weak, or really powerful," said Giles.
"Best go for the second option," said Wesley, "Turee is getting ready for some visitors, Gregor and a couple of the Powers That Be are coming here. The books here mention of that demon in the 1st century BC, like you said there's no more except that he joins the demons together and for some reason he won't let any-one named Simon be killed. Oh and Turee says that she'll bring you up here to meet the PTB."
"I'll see you soon then," said Giles.

Anya was searching the house trying to find Steven and Linda as they had said they would help Xander. She took a quick look on the verandah, she only just saw Turee.

"What are you doing Turee," she asked.
"Trying to avoid every-one, I need a minutes peace and quiet."
"Ok, er, how long have you been here for ?" asked Anya.
"Two or three minutes ," said Turee.
"That's good then !, you've had longer than what you wanted."
"Giles, Dana, Dawn and Spike, are coming here. I'm going to get Giles to meet a couple of my friends in the PTB," stated Turee.

"Your friends with them ?, I knew you had messages but I didn't know they were your friends," said Anya.
"We usually have a chat, when we can," said Turee.
"That's nice, it's good to have friends, it's even better to have friends who don't want to be in your shoes," said Anya.
"Thanks, that was very nicely put," said Turee.

"It's a bit like you and Giles, I mean he see's you as a friend, not some-one he aspires to be."
"Anya !, I'm surprised, you said that very delicately," said Turee.
*26 "Why are you surprised, I'm not insensitive am I, admittedly I often say things as I see them. But I don't say things that I know will upset others, well not always, well sometimes I do, but only when the reaction will be good," said Anya.
"Never thought of it like that."

At that point the phone rang.

"I hope that is the call I've been waiting for," said Turee.

When Turee put the phone down she smiled.

"Was that the call you were waitimg for ?" asked Anya.
"Yep, that was it. They're almost ready to come here," said Turee.
"Ohh, that's good then, who is coming ?"
"Giles, Dana, Dawn and Spike."
"When you say Dawn and Spike, do you mean Dawn and Spike ?"
"I'm glad for them, oh mustn't forget, I was trying to find Steven and Linda, you haven't seen them have you ?" asked Anya.

"They're in their little room in the attic, when you find them tell them Gregor will be here soon," said Turee.

Anya went to find Steven and Linda in the attic.

"There you are, your own private chapel, that's nice, I can see why you've kept it a secret," said Anya.
"It isn't a secret, just because we haven't told any-one, I mean I haven't
said where the leach drains are, but that isn't a secret," said Linda.
"Good point," said Anya.
"What did you come up here for ?"
"Xander is waiting for you, and Turee just said thet Gregor'll be here soon."

"We'd best find Turee," said Steven.

The phone rang again.

"Giles are you ready to come here now ?" asked Turee.
"Yes I'm ready," said Giles, "it'll be good to meet the...oh, I'm here, I'd better ring some-one and get them to put the phone down."
"Oh, not really ready."
"I was nearly, I didn't think that putting the phone down would be a problem."

Giles rang Dawn.

"Can you hang up the Museum's phone, for me. Turee brought me here to quickly, hmm, oh yes, I'll ask her."
"Dawn wants to know about the travel arrangements, she does want to get dropped in front of a truck."
"Xander said pretty much the same thing, only his phraseology was a bit more colourful," said Turee, "he said he had built a room for time and space travellers, I think he was going to call it the Tardis."

"I hope you know what T.A.R.D.I.S. stands for ?" asked Giles.
"Time And Relative Dimension In Space," said Turee.
"I'll accept that," said Giles, thinking he'd got Turee.
"Oh, Steven Linda, glad your here, Gregor should be here soon. Want to clean your glasses now Giles ? just to be ready for him," said Turee.
"I'll say hello when he gets here," replied Giles.

"Well I'm waiting," said Gregor.
"Your here, at last. I'm sorry, I don't know who you are, it's Gregor he's getting a bit senile these days," said Giles.
"Steven Linda, and you Giles, these are Zeus and Hera," said Gregor.
*27 "Giles ?, his name is Giles ?, I thought you said his name was Guyles," said Hera.

Gregor looked wistfully towards the stars.

"Giles, my name is most definately Giles."
"Did you find out anything about the Kuh-rotan Giles ?" asked Gregor.
"He seems to come from the first century, but that is about it," replied Giles.
"I'm not surprised, see the Kuh-rotan is seven foot tall, almost majestic in appearence, in as much that he likes to wear robes that reach the floor. It used to be human, as a human he did something that made him infamous the world over. He is a leader amongst demons, they see him as a God-King. As a human he was Judas Iscariot," said Gregor.

"So why are we only hearing about him now ?" asked Giles.
"Your hurting the evil more than we expected you to be. What Spike did,the the vampire slayers have done, we can see the end now, even the PTB have said they'll be more accessible, I must admit their disguise was a good one."
"Oh, I wonder," said Giles
"What is it ?" asked Linda.
"Why the Kuh-rotan won't let any-one called Simon be killed, Judas's fathers name was Simon !"

"I'm tempted to make a reference to what Spike would say," replied Turee.
"Whats that ?" asked Giles.
"Bugger !."
"Gregor, you mentioned the PTB's disguise, what was it ?" asked Steven.
"Ever read about the flaming fire balls in the sky, UFO's, the crop circles, well that's how we track the demons, good cover story," said Hera.
"Yeah, that was good," said Linda.

"These demon's, they've set up shop here ?" asked Giles.
"They've always been here, it's just that they are becoming more noticeable now," said Turee.
"See they were once in the place you called Yugoslavia, the area was known as Illyria, then in the south west of Britain, what is sometimes referred to as the devil's country. Now it is in the west coast of America," said Gregor.

"So how do we stop the Kuh-rotan ?" asked Giles.
"You don't, it'll be the slayers, the Goddesses and the Amulet. Just a thought Giles, has your family tree ever been done ?" asked Gregor.
"My mother did it when I was a child. I think she managed to trace our family back eleven hundred years."

"I know of some-one who was an ancestor of yours, I'm not sure how many times the word great would be repeated, but he was alive over nineteen hundred years ago, actually you may well have heard of him, he is known as Joseph of Arimethea."

ANGELUS WINS

Turee rang Suzy.

"Suzy !"
"Oh hi !" replied Suzy.
"I'm going to be running the shop at the farm today, any chance of you turning up ?" asked Turee.

"Yeah sure, I'll be there about ten," said Suzy.
"That'll be good, one of my friends got here yesterday, her name's Dawn. It'd be good if you was to meet her," said Turee.
"See you later then, bye," replied Suzy.

Spike was in the farm products room, he saw Xander there.

"Whose in charge of the farm shop ?" asked Spike.
"I don't think any-one was put in charge of it, why ?"
"So who says what'll be sold there," said Spike.
"Well I usually ask some-one else," said Xander, "but being as how it's Steven and Linda's farm, I guess it's up to them."
"Are you saying that this Linda's a responsible person ?"

"Er, yeah, I guess so," said Xander.
"So if anything goes wrong she's responsible," said Spike.
"I like your thinking, Linda might not though," said Xander.
"So don't tell her," replied Spike.
"What did you come here for Spike ?"
"Trying to find stuff for the shop."

"If in doubt ask Willow, er, I mean Turee," said Xander.
"You have trouble with her name as well huh."
"I've called her Willow all my life, then I have to start using the name Turee."
"If the 'u' is dropped it's a tree, so I drop the 'u'," said Spike.
"You drop most of me ?" asked Xander.
"No, not you, 'u' !" said Spike.

"The sharp man is getting a little blunt eh !" said Xander.
"Oh very clever Xander, you'll keep, I'm of to the shop, see-ya," said Spike.

When Spike arrived at the farm shop Dawn was talking to Turee.

"Spike !, your checking up on me already ," exclaimed Dawn.
"No I'm not, I was coming here any-way," said Spike, "I didn't know you'd be here, how could I know ?"
"Don't you remember me telling you ?" asked Dawn.
"You didn't tell me," replied Spike.
"This is to boring. Oh hi Xander," said Turee.

"Hi, what's going on ?" asked Xander.
"You didn't hear any of what we were talking about did you ?" asked Spike.
"I've only just got hear, how could I have heard anything," said Xander, "unless your on about the not remembering thing."

"Oh, sod !" said Spike.
*28 "My poor sweet blondie bear, this isn't your day is it," said Dawn.
"Not in front of the little ones," said Spike.
"Hey !, I'm not that little," said Xander.
"When you get as old as my Spike is, every-one is little," said Dawn.
"There's another way of looking at that, if every-one is so little, isn't he cradle snatching ?" asked Xander.

"Oi you, sodoff," said Spike.
"Mwaa, mwaa," said Dawn.
"Great you as well."
"One thing is better than to have won," said Dawn.
"To enjoy the winning," said Spike, "you were listening."
"Yep," said Dawn, smiling at Spike.

The sound of a car draws near and stops. Suzy gets out of the car and comes into the shop.

"Hi Turee," said Suzy.

Spike walks up to her, sniffs her then goes and sits near Dawn.

"She human," said Spike.
"You can tell she's human ?" asked a stunned Turee.
"I could tell she wasn't a vampire, she's your friend, so I guessed she is Human," said Spike.
"Suzy meet Spike he was a vampire, sort of," said Turee.
"Another vampire friend," said Suzy.

"He's my boyfriend," said Dawn, indignantly.
"And your human, right ?" asked Suzy.
"Well no, not really," admitted Dawn.
"But they are both friends," said Turee.
"Are they why you invited me here ?" asked Suzy.
"Them and a few others," said Turee, "ex-demons of one sort or another, might even get you to meet another coven."

"Another coven !" asked Suzy.
"She only met them 'cos she tried to destroy the world once," said Spike.
"Your not being serious are you ?" asked Suzy.
"He is, she would've, she could've, but she was stopped by one of us."
"Just put it this way, she has a lot of good magic to use, now she also has a lot of dark magic that she can use," said Xander.

"But then of course there is the whole Gregor thing, so if there was any bad in us we wouldn't be here," said Spike.
"Who is Gregor ?" asked Suzy.
"As good guys go, he's one of the top ten," said Turee.
"What is Suzy's story ?" asked Spike.
"Well it all started with Wesley and Illyria, what's that Spike ?"
"It's only that if Illyria has met her and she's still here, she must be ok."

"You've that much Faith in Illyria, why ?"
"If she doesn't trust you, she says so, if she thinks your not suitable near us, she'll kill you," said Spike, "oh Suzy, I left Dawns water bottle in my car, can you get it for me."
"What was that for ?" asked Turee.
"Those cars that just passed, they all had blackened windows," said Spike.
"So ?" asked Xander.

"One of them was Angels old car, that and there was alot of vampires in them."
"Hey Suzy, get your friends here, tonight, before the sun goes down," said Turee.
"Sure, what are you going to do ?" asked Suzy.
"I'm going to give D'Hoffryn a call."
"Who is D'Hoffryn ?"
"King of Vengeance demons," said Turee.

"He's a friend ?"
"Sort of," said Turee.
"But I'll go to LA for that, I'll get Anya to cover me while I'm gone."

Presently Anya came to the shop, Turee went around the back.

"Excuse me Anya, bit I've been told about you and Xander getting married, but no-one can tell me your names, what are they ?" asked Suzy.
"I had problems with that, every-one here calls me Anya but my real name is Aud, on the wedding certificate I decided to use the names Christina Emmanuella Jenkins, seems that Xander had a problem with me using Anyanka lame-ass no-name Harris."
"Men !, there's no pleasing them is there," said Suzy.

"A-ha, a compliment," said Xander.
"That wasn't a compliment, if anything it was an insult," said Anya.
"I heard a compliment," said Xander.
"I was talking to Anya, and there wasn't a compliment in there," said Suzy.
"You said men, I'm a man, you called me a man, that's a compliment."
"Oh no," exclaimed Anya.

"Ha ! the boys are back in town," said Xander.
"The who are back in town ?"
"Oh bugger ! sod it ," said Xander.
"That sounded like Spike," said Turee.
"Definately a Spike thing," said Anya.
"I'm going," said Xander.

"And the girls come out on top," said Suzy.
"Still not listening," said Xander.

About an hour later after Turee had got the Talisman from her room, she saw Giles at the reception of his hotel.

"What brings you here Turee ?" asked Giles.
"I'll need to use the basement, I'm going to give D'Hoffryn a call, I'll put a dangerous magics sign on the door," said Turee.
"The magics are dangerous ?" asked Giles.
"Not really, it's just if D'Hoffryn's in a bad mood."
"That's fair enough, mind if I come with you, I'd like to meet him again," said Giles.

"If you want to join in that's ok with me, but don't act surprised by what I say."
Giles made up a sign for the door and joined Turee in the basement. They prepared them selves.
"BE a tuum, S-it, iN NoM I BEE D'Hoffrynis, Fi-AT h-Oc SP-at-IUmm,por-Tt Ad mUN-duuM ARASHMAHARIS," recited Turee.

"Willow !, very nicely, oh , that's better, your using the name Turee again, how are you, umm, your not living here are you, that's ok, your not trying to trick me," said D'Hoffryn.
"I have a friend with me, he wanted to properly meet you," said Turee.
"Hello Giles, I saw you at Anya's wedding, both times."

D'Hoffryn held out his hand to Giles. After a brief stutter.

"I'm sorry, I didn't expect you to do that," said Giles.
"Just because I'm a demon, that is no excuse for me not to be polite. So Turee, why have you requested by company ?" asked D'Hoffryn.
"Firstly because of the way you spoke to the bride at her wedding, whilst I don't owe you a favour and I don't ask for one in return I feel as though I should warn you of problem that will soon happen in Sharpsville," said Turee.

"You mean that because of the Kuh-rotan, many demons do see him as a saviour, I see him as a traitor, not some-one to be trusted. My thanks, there are a few of my girls there so I will tell them to leave. Who is that ?"
"Who is who ?" asked Turee looking around.

The door burst open, Nina ran down the stairs.

"Get the cage ready, I'm starting to change."

Giles readied the cage as Turee pushed D'Hoffryn out of the way.

"Sorry about that, but as you can see, I had to act quickly," said Turee.
"I have never seen a human change to a werewolf before, I always thought that I would move away from danger," said D'Hoffryn, "anything else to tell me."
"Not really," said Turee.
"Then I'll go, good bye Turee, and to you Mr Giles."

"Turee," said Giles, "I once told this to Buffy, when I was first told about my being a watcher, well I was a bit upset. But if I'd have known then what I know now, well, a King of demons greeting me with a handshake."
"Did you know who D'Hoffryn took over from ?" asked Turee.
"No idea."
"His name was Lloyd and he had a picture of me flaying Warren on the wall."

"Somehow the thought of a King of demons being called King Lloyd is very disturbing, that reminds me of something we found out recently. It seems that some-one bought himself a title, so that can call himself Count Angelus.
I wonder That Kuh-rotan, Count Angelus, we've had reports of Senoth demons going to Sharpsville," said Giles.
"So how about we create a problem for them, we'll start a rumour that there is going to be an ascension there, by the Senoth demons," said Turee

"Let them fight amonst themselves," said Giles.

CHAPTER 18

A DEAD SLAYER

That evening Buffy and Turee were discussing how quiet the town was, when Giles came into the room.

"Are you after a cup of tea ?" asked Turee.
"Do tell me, what other reason would there I have to come in here ?"
"Maybe it was to be in the company of two lovely young women," said Buffy.
"Every time I bump into you two, I get asked some question or other."
"Well I don't have any questions, do you Buffy ?" asked Turee.

"Didn't have any questions either," replied Buffy.
"Oh, there's a first time for everything," said Giles.
"How-ever, I wouldn't want to spoil it for you. There is one thing I've been meaning to ask you for a while now, it's a simple one really, it won't take much time. How many slayers were there before me, and how many are there now ?" asked Buffy.

"Your right, it won't take me long," said Giles, "being as how Turee has known all the slayers, she should get to answer the question."
"Thanks Buffy, mind you it isn't difficult to answer. As humans were created by God on the twenty third of October four thousand and four BC, according to the bible, and being as most of the slayers lived for one, two, five or nine years, there has been five thousand four hundred and ninety seven slayers of the past with four hundred and seventy three at present," said Turee.

"How on earth did you know that ?" asked Giles.
"I'm a clever person," replied Turee.
"Worked it out earlier did you ?" asked Buffy.
"That may have had something to do with it," said Turee grinning.
"And there I was thinking how clever you are," said Giles.
"I won't be offended if you keep thinking like that."

"Think I'll make that cuppa now," said Giles.

As he was walking out Kennedy walked in, it was obvious from her expression that something was wrong.

"I just took a walk to the corner shop, on the way back I found Julie's body, I think she had been attacked by two vampires."
"Why do you think it was two vampires ?" asked Turee.
"Was there two sets of teeth marks ?" asked Buffy.
"That's the thing, there was only one set of teeth marks, but there was also a thin gash," said Kennedy.

"That rings a bell, we need to see Spike," said Buffy.
"You reckon Spike did it ?" asked Turee.
"No, but I think he'll know who it was."

Spike was enjoying a cooled blackberry and apple flavoured drink.

"We're not disturbing you are we ?" asked Kennedy.
"You weren't," replied Spike.
"That's good," said Buffy, "I'm glad about that."
"You weren't, but you might be now," said Spike.
"Oh Spikey, you do say the most horrible things to us adorable girls," said Turee.
"That's it, now you've disturbed me," said Spike.

"Oh goody, now we can talk as much as we like without disturbing you."
"Bugger !," said Spike.
"Spike, Kennedy just found Julie's body, a vamps teeth marks and a thin gash on her neck," said Buffy.
"Sounds like Drusilla, she preferred to use her nails on girls, it raised the fear levels, made them smell better. She didn't do that to blokes though, said the day old stubble put her off," said Spike, "that's how she killed Kendra."

"We'd better let Clem know that Angelus is heading back to LA." said Turee.
"What makes you think they're heading back ?" asked Buffy.
"The Senot of Circel and his followers have all been killed, the followers of the Kuh-rotan have been killed, Count Angelus lost most of his lot as well. The fighting has finished, plus we're on the LA side of town here," said Turee.
"But what Kennedy said, it only means that they were here," pointed out Buffy.

"True but the tyre marks were from a vehicle leaving the area," said Kennedy.
"Give Clem a call then Turee, are we going back as well ?" asked Spike.
"For a while," said Turee.
"Oh good, I'll get to see my mom again," said Buffy.

After two days back at the Hyperion, Sharpsville seemed a distant memory, except for Suzy. Life at the hotel was ok for her, she spent a lot of time in the museum studying the exhibits then looking up the history of them.

"Giles, what don't you have much of here, is an alarm system here," said Suzy.
"I do, there are two ghosts who watch this place," said Giles, "Joyce and her new friend Winnie."
"Joyce is Buffy and Dawn's mum, but who is this Winnie ?" asked Suzy.
"Joyce said this morning that her friend knew Angel, Wesley and the others from AI. Why don't you ask them, there about to come in here," said Giles.

"Hi, about Joyce's friend the ghost of Winnie, who is she ?" asked Suzy.
"Don't know any-one of that name," said Wesley.
"I knew her, but I don't understand how she could be here, her soul is gone, that's what we were told," said Spike.
"I'm working on a new theory about that, it isn't the soul but the memory that brings about a ghost," said Wesley.

"Suppose so, if you put it that way. So why is it that your memory doesn't work ?" asked Spike.
"What are you on about ?" asked Wesley.
"Your going to flip out in a minute then, Winnie, Winifred, Fred," said Spike.

Wesley ran out of the room as soon as he heard the name Winifred.

"Do you really mean........? asked Giles.
"Fred, Illyria, two different beings, but the same body," said Spike.

Harmony had taken their latest recruit for a drive around their old haunts.

"So Harm, how did Jeff's drive go ?" asked Drusilla.
"Strange, very strange. I was passing the Hyperion when a truck blocked the road, I looked at the place and saw two figures in the window, but I don't understand how they both could be there," said Harm.
"Who were they ?" asked Angelus faking interest.
"It was Fred and Illyria," said Harm, "Fred's soul was consumed in the transformation to Illyria, so how can she be there ?"

"That's a good question, but who cares ?, does it matter ?" asked Drusilla.
"Not really, but it is strange," said Harm.
"Accepted, so how is the recruitment drive going ?" asked Angelus.
"It's pretty good, there should be thirty five men and forty women today, got any plans for them."
"We hit the hotel soon," said Angelus.

"Best wait till the visitor has been here," said Drusilla.
"What visitor ?" asked Angelus.
"The Kuh-rotan's coming here."

Turee was sat in her room, quietly gazing at the picture on the wall, when Fred walked through the wall.

"WOW !!, damn, you'd think I'd be used to that, I mean I do it to others quite often."
"Thought that was it," said Fred, "I've noticed that you've been very quiet the last two days, any reason ?"
"An old friend, memories and the like."
"Why don't you ask Gregor if you could see the person again, who is it ?"

"She was a slayer during the Salem witch trials Fred, her watcher was one of the magistrates," said Turee.
"What about the girl, did she have any friends ?" asked Fred.

"One in particular,there was trouble there though, they went out one evening and came across a vampire, the friend actually killed the vampire. That was ok, but she told her mum who told a friend, then that girl was accused of being a witch. Now even though she knew about slayers and the rest of it she didn't tell. So we tried to help her, we stopped her from feeling the pain of torture. When she died we made her her friends assistant, an immortal."

"What were there names ?" asked Fred.
"The slayers name was Emily, her friends name was Ruth. Emily herself was accused of being a witch," said Turee.
"Was there any real witches ?" asked Fred.
"Nope, it was a big con anyway. There had been a big split in the Quaker religion about ten years earlier, the members of the split had moved to Salem, the others who were very inflential found a way to get rid of the split, then it continued. Mind you there was a vampire accused of being a witch, that was funny, ever thought of drowning a vampire or burying a vampire in unconsecrated ground."

"It was good that it didn't become common knowledge," said Fred.
"True, I didn't know her then, but I found out who she is," said Turee, "it was Darla."
"She changed then," said Fred.
"How do you mean ?" asked Turee.
"I was beside her when she purposely put a stake into herself," said Fred.

"Why did she do that ?"
"She realised that her unborn child had a soul, it caused her to love that child, she knew that as soon as the child was born she'd want to kill it, so she killed herself," said Fred, "that's a thought, with Wesleys theory, with our memories of Darla, wouldn't she be a ghost."
"If Wesley's theory is correct," said Turee, "trouble with that is would she be with us though."

"Yes," said Darla, "to answer your other question, do I have to be on one side or the other ?, but if I had to choose I'd listen to what my son wanted."
"It may not be the most pleasant of memories for you, but do you remember the salem witch trials ?" asked Turee.
*29 "I do, I remember seeing Anya there, why do you ask ?" said Darla.
"It's just that I want to see my friend from then, the slayer," said Turee.
"You make it sound as though it is possible," said Darla.

"It is, she isn't alive, she's immortal," said Turee.
"Excuse me ladies," said Gregor, "she'll be here soon Turee."
"Who are you ?" asked Darla.
"Don't you think we should be nice to Darla about now," said Fred.
"Hmm, maybe your right. But bit by bit, first up though we'll need to say about Illyria, she took form in Fred's body, they are friends. Gregor is an immortal, with a link to God."

"Wesley's theory just got real for me, if a person is sired by a vampire thjen the soul is caste out, so how does the vampire exist ?, it seems that the memories of the person are used," said Fred.
"Okay, why's my name being used, oh hi Fred," said Wesley.
"I was bored with my name so I thought I'd use yours," said Darla.
"Darla !, hope you didn't want to try not being a vampire," said Wesley.

"That's why I wanted your name."
"About that Darla, there's been a few changes here. Wesley is a vampire."

Darla turned to face Fred.

"Sometimes you just keep losing."
"Why is Darla here ?" asked Wesley.
"Fred and I were thinking about the old days," said Turee.
"Ok then, so how about the ghost of Drusilla, Harmony or Liam," said Wesley.
"That means Liam would meet me," said Darla, "Drusilla would meet the ghost of her tormenter, could cause more problems than what you want."

"From what I've been told, who'd want to meet the real Harmony," said Turee
"Do you want me to be solid like Fred ?" asked Darla.
"Why not ?" asked Fred.
"Lets face it, I was a vampire," said Darla.
"So, I'm a vampire so's Angel, and Spike used to be, so why not," said Wesley

"Hang on, Spike used to be ?, is there a cure now ?" asked Darla.
"Gregor boss gave him his humanity back, hang on I just saw some-one. Hey Spike, there's an old friend of yours in here," said Turee.
"Who is it, bloody hell !, sorry Gregor. Bloody hell, Darla. See what you mean Turee, thanks," said Spike.

"No doubt you two have a lot of catching up to do, so why doesn't Spike show Darla around," said Gregor.

Spike took Darla on a tour of the place, even the rooms where nobody went, as they began to go up the stairs they nearly bumped into Buffy.

"I know you don't I ?" asked Buffy.
"You do, I think you'll need to apologise to Buffy and to her mum Darla," said Spike.
"Why does she need to apologise ?" asked Buffy.
"I threatened to shoot your knee-caps of, and I bit your mum once," said Darla.
"There's a fight going on here, between good and evil, you'll be on our side won't you ?" asked Spike.
"Probably, but any reason ?" asked Darla.

"The evil would try to kill Connor," said Spike.
"Who is Connor ?" asked Buffy.
"My son."
"Then your Darla, right. The vampire with a son."
"Ask Fred, she was there when my son was born, I never even saw him," said Darla as she burst into tears.

Buffy stepped forward and tried to comfort the now distraught Darla.

"Why didn't you see your son Darla ?" asked Buffy.
"He had a soul, I didn't. When he was inside me, I could love him, but I knew that as soon as he'd have been born I would've wanted to kill him. I couldn't face that thought so I killed myself," said Darla.
"Was any-one there to be with Fred ?"
"Connors father," said Spike.

"Who was that ?" asked Buffy.
"Angel," said Spike, "that's a thought, can you appear as a vampirew Darla."

Darla stood back, and her beautiful game face appeared.

"Why did you want to know ?" asked Darla.
"Its just that if you do that during a fight, it could help the slayers, and you'll make more friends," said Spike.
"Oh, William the bloody, not just a pretty face are you."
"Oh dear, I'm sorry Darla, you should have been warned about making comments like that," said Buffy.

"Bit vain is he ?" asked Darla.
"Not a bit," said Spike.

He looked in the mirror and put the stray hair back in its place and almost bumped into Giles.

"Who's he trying to make himself look pretty for ?" asked Darla.
"That'd be Dawn," said Giles.
"Whose Dawn."
"Buffy's sister," said Giles.
"He'll need to be polite to her then won't he," said Darla.
"Hear that Spike ?, you'll need to be polite to Dawn and Buffy, there's a first time for everything," said Giles.

"A-ha, sarcasm !, that'll be five dollars for the sarcasm box," said Spike.
"Oh goody, there's a sarcasm box," said Giles.
"That'll be ten dollars," said Spike.
"Here's fifteen dollars," said Giles.
"What's the other five dollars for ?" asked Spike.

"So Darla, do you have a lump hammer, if you want Spike to be pretty, you'll need it," said Giles.
"That's what the other five dollars was for," said Darla.

Spike stopped looked around.

"There's three vampires about to come in here."
"Right, you lot, get under cover, I'll pretend like this place is mine," said Darla.

The three vampire walked in like they owned the place.

"This is my place, get out," said Darla.
"Who are you, our master told us to make this place ready for him."
"And who is your master ?" asked Darla.
"He is the Count Angelus."
"Ooh, my dear little boy has minions," said Darla.

"Your dear little boy ?, who are you ?"
"I'm Darla." appearing as a vampire.
"Our master has never spoken of you, why should we believe you."
"Because I sired your master, and my dear boy was mine for a hundred and fifty years."
"Your going to come with us, now."
"Here you are dear, a taster for you, oh, who are they ?" asked Spike.

Spike dragged the lifeless body of Buffy, blood dribbling down her neck.

"Ooh Spikey, a slayer, I'd love a taste."
"Who are they ?" asked Spike.
"Count Angelus's minions," said Darla.
"Well these pillocks can tell there boss that I've just bagged my third slayer, there's others here, but they are ours," said Spike.
"You tell them Spike !," said Darla.
"OI ! weren't you listening, SOD-OFF," shouted Spike.

As the doors closed behind the vampires, Darla went to Buffy.

"Are you alright Buffy ?"
"Thanks, I'm ok, but Angelus is going to have a big headache soon, trying to figure out what's happening here," said Buffy.
"That was a very believeable display you two just put on," said Giles.
"One thing Spike, couldn't you have bitten me where the other scar is ?" asked Buffy.

"What ! uurgh, Angel bite, yuk, I might have caught something," said Spike.
"Did those two have problems before, Darla," said Buffy.
"Not really, I can remember two or three minutes when they were almost pleasant towards each other," said Darla.

"Err, Darla, do you have any money with you ?" asked Spike.
"Why."
"It's just that you owe the sarcasm box."
"Oh naughty me."

She lunged at Spike, changing into a vampire as she flew at him.

"Your not getting out of it that easy," said a very uninterested Spike.

Darla opened the sarcasm box and took out five dollars, her game face vanished. She gave Spike the five dollars then kissed him on the neck.

"Hey !, who are you ? get of my boyfriend," called Dawn.

Darla turned to the others.

"Not the only one to call him a boy am I," said Darla.

She went up to Dawn, and in her best old hag voice.

"Pretty young thing, cut you up and eat you for breakfast."

Spike went to Dawn and put his arm around her shoulders.

"That is the ghost of Darla, she is our friend."
"She got a funny way of showing it then," said Dawn.
"Yeah, sorry about that Dawn, I got caught up in the moment."
"I remember, want your boyfriend captain, er blockhead, forehead oh, and he wears lifts in his shoes," said Dawn.
"Your forgetting about his hair pointing upwards, hmm, shouldn't he be called Spike," said Darla.

"'Ere hang on, what would I be called."
"Let me see, my last sire was Drusilla, she was your sire as well so that makes us brother and sister, now as your my elder brother a few names come to mind," said Darla.

"Can't imagine what those names would be," said Giles happily smiling.

THE NEW ANGEL INVESTIGATIONS

CHAPTER 19 part 1

THE HILLS ARE ALIVE

Buffy, Illyria, Turee and Faith had gone to a commercial vehicles showroom to look at the vans there, Giles had decided that his hotel needed one for when any pick-ups or delivery's needed doing. A sales-person had been trying to help them but Faith and Illyria kept distracting him.
They kept asking him about the sports car, a second hand Viper. Faith asked him questions about what made the car go fast, he duly lifted up the bonnet and showed her the engine. Illyria and Faith looked at each other, then at the engine, then at the sales person.

"What makes it go faster ?"

Illyria looked at the engine.

"Quiet isn't it ?"
"It hasn't been started yet !" said the sales person.
"Will that make it go faster ?" asked Faith.

The sales person looked questioningly at Faith then started the engine.

"It still isn't moving," observed Illyria.
"By putting it into gear, you enable it to faster," replied the sales person who was getting a bit frustrated.
"Oh, does it go very fast ?" asked Illyria.
"Reasonably fast," said the sales person.

"If it had a red stripe would that make it go faster ?" asked Faith, " at least that's what my last boyfriend told me."
"But it's a red car," said the sales person.
"Couldn't the stripe be a different colour red ?" asked Illyria.

The sales person looked at Illyria, shook his head. Looked at Faith.

"How did she get that blue on her."
"Don't ask," replied Faith, "just be glad it isn't pink."

Buffy and Turee had heard most of Illyria and Faith's comments, they had moved closer to the Viper, then crouched down by a van. The other sales people had seen and heard what was going on and were with Buffy and Turee. It was only when Faiths comment about the pink were said that a sales person fell over laughing out loud.

The sales person with Faith and Illyria suddenly realised that he had been conned, Faith's smile and her comment. "Brrmmm, Brrmmm." may have alerted him as well.
Buffy asked the manager if any of the vans were fitted with an electric engine. The manager said that one was, he sold that one to her for Giles hotel, The Toparius Hotel.

The girls had a few laughs about their trip on the way back, Turee interrrupted them saying that she needed another bottle of water. Turee went into the shop with Faith. While Buffy and Illyria waited out side a young man of latin-American desent began to talk to them, he invited them to go with him, just before they left Buffy knocked on the window to the shop to let Faith now there was a vampire with them.

Buffy linked arms with him and with Illyria they escorted him to the car, Faith and Turee followed two steps behind.

"Where are you taking me ?" he asked
"Somewhere safe," replied Faith.

He turned around as Illyria added a bit more of their intention.

"What if I don't want to go with you ?" he asked.
"Tough," said Turee.
"We're taking you to see some of our friends, they'll have a few questions for you," said Buffy.
"And if I don't want to talk to them ?"
"Don't talk to them then," said Faith.

Illyria pushed him into the back of the car after Buffy had got in, he was quickly followed by Faith, his head was pushed down between his knees and his jacket was pulled back to just above his elbows, trapping him.

"What is your name ?" asked Faith.
"David, David Steele," he replied.

At the Hyperion hotel a discussion was underway about how the coming battles would be manned, or personned as Kyles said.

"Hello every-one," said Buffy, "this is David."
"We all agree that David is a vampire," said Faith.
"I'm not a vampire !" stated David.

Faith hit him hard in the face. David immediately took the appearance of a vampire.

"Pardon ?" asked Faith, sweetly.

Nina looked at David, then at Angel.

"He seems a bit gaunt."
"Yeah, he does look like he needs some nourishment," said Spike.
"So David, what did you do before you were turned ?" asked Angel.
"Nothing, I'd just lost a job, I was drowning my sorrows, actually I can't remember much more of that night," said David.

"Had anything to drink since then ?" asked Spike.
"No."
"Nothing to drink eh, like he said, he may not have known he was a vampire, the demon could have been uninterested, it wouldn't be the first time I've seen a vampire that the demon couldn't be bothered," said Spike.

"How come you know that stuff ?" asked David.
"The looks of a vampire, but he can't be bothered with killing," said Angel, "bit of an introvert are you ?, give him a drink Spike."

David drank the blood.

"When these girls brought you here did you feel anything ?" asked Spike.
"Now that you mention it, I did," said David
"Who was it that made you a vampire ?" asked Angel.
"Let me see, the three girls were Drusilla, Desdenona and Harmony, but they did say about another of the, that's it, his name is Angelus," said David.

"Can you explain that to us ?" asked Spike, looking at Angel.
"Were there any other vampires nearby ?" asked Angel.
"There was, that Angelus was told by Drusilla that there was many of them."
"Giles, start calling all slayers here, I'll let Gregor know, Buffy Faith get Dawn and Kennedy make sure they are safe," said Turee.
"What do you want us to.....oh, OH !,....now, it's now ?" asked Buffy.

"What did she mean ?" asked Spike.
"The final battles are about to begin," said Wesley, "by the end of the month
they'll be done."
"But it's the twenty fifth today !" exclaimed Spike.
"I'll help you," said David, "are there many others ?"

"I hope so," said Spike.
"There's a hundred or so slayers up the road, there's the other three hundred or so being called, the Goddesses have been told, there's a million or two immortal beings, plus the back up," said Turee.

"What is the back up ?" asked Giles.
"Remember Molly, Giles ?" asked Turee.
"But she was from another dimension," said Giles.
"Yes, and when we win in this dimension, the wall that separates this from their dimension will cease to exist and it begins again," said Turee.

"This battle begins again ?" asked Giles.
"No, their battle has been played out as ours, when the wall falls, we can join them, their battle will be the last. So they will help, and their numbers are vast," said Turee.
"Turee, I have sent word to Baaliitus, asking him to help us," said Illyria.

"There you go David, when a Hell-God wants to help us, you know your on the right side," said Turee.
"There's some-one I need to contact, he helped before when Buffy faced the Master. One of Jenny's contacts," said Giles.
"Who is it ?" asked Wesley.
"He is known as Brother Luca," said Giles.
"About Jenny, I'm very sorry," said Angel.

"Angel, that was a different you, it is ok," said Giles.

An hour later Giles returned to the foyer, everywhere, people were sat, looking at their knees.

"Like you said before Turee, the waiting has started," said Giles.
"Angel, can you go and make sure the sewer tunnels are clear ?" asked Turee.
"Mr Nabit, how are you ?" asked Giles.
"What is happening ?" asked Mr Nabit, "there's insect's of all sorts moving out of the hotel."

By seven the next morning all the animals had left the city, the parks were all quiet, many reports had been made through the night about packs of dogs and cats, they had left the city. Fishermen had reported schools of fish moving away from the land. All was quiet.

A reporter from an early morning tv news programme called in to say about the traffic problem areas, he mentioned about people gathering outside the city limits.

"When there's a few hundred of them let me know," said his director.
"No, you don't understand, there's thousands of them now."
"Send me footage of them now !," said the director.

Two minutes later the pictures were beamed across the city, dressed in a medieval type uniform, they seemed to be marching out of the hills.

"Spike tell Turee, it looks like the final battles are about to start," said Wesley.

Spike ran towards Turee's room, rounding a corner he ran into Faith sending them both sprawling.

"Faith get ready, the Knights are coming out of the hills," said Spike.

Turee had heard the commotion. She stood up and was aout to move to her door when Spike burst into her room.

"The least you could do is knock first," said Turee.
"Sorry, it's on the tv, the Knights are moving out of the hills, it looks like the battles will start soon," said Spike.
"How many are there ?" asked Turee.
"Several thousands," said Spike.

"For one thing, the battles have already started, all over the world. It isn't just the Knights that are coming here Spike, the Soldiers, the Infantry, the Cavalry are coming here, you'll know when the time is close as the Riders will come."
"The who ?" asked Spike.
"The Riders, they who fly on the winged white Unicorns. Now Spike, get down on one knee and bow your head."

Suddenly the room filled with light. When the light faded.

"Spike, now you can stand," said Turee.

Spike looked, there before him was a woman, yet she glowed.

"Spike, this is the Goddess Medusera," said Turee.
"Turee, just think of us and we will help you," said Goddess Medusera, then she vanished.
"Where is she from ?" asked Spike.
"From another dimension," said Turee.

Gregor appeared in the room, he looked to Turee then knelt and bowed his head.

"Goddess most high, your forces are coming, we await your order," said Gregor.

CHAPTER 19 part 2

"We will tell our Faith, to our friends stay here unless we say, all like you were
are to stay here. We give our thanks, we can begin to finish what you started.......we will go

Spike slowly went back to the others, once in the room he said to no-one in particular.

"I just saw Turee, I think. Another appeared in her room, it was a Goddess from another dimension, Gregor came and knelt to Turee, he said that her forces were ready. She said to get all here, then she dis-appeared."
"Hey guys there's another report of them," said Gunn.

The footage showed soldiers literally marching out of the hills, then showed them passing through trees and bushes, there was audio but the reporter was speechless.

"There's many of them, how will we know when we are needed," said Wesley.
"I don't think we are needed, get all like us here," said Spike, "all not in this battle are to be here."
"I'll need to see her," said Giles.
"You can't, she's gone," said Spike.

"May should be in the museum, I'll get her here," said Giles, "Wesley, Gunn, can you two make sure every-one else is here."

As Giles walked into the Museum he met Sally and May.

"Sally, go to see Spike, May we'd best close up, then join her."
"Turee was here, she said get the girls to the other hotel, then she went. I was cleaning a display case, the one with the uniform in, it vanished right before my eyes," said May, "and why is it so quiet here ?"
"You haven't watched the tv this morning have you ?" asked Giles.

"Didn't bother, why ?" asked May.
"Ever heard of the battle between good and evil ?" asked Giles.
"Sure, there's many books that mention it, it's what is known in biblical terms as the armageddon, they mention it but it's thought to have happened," said May.
"I think they were when the evil tried to win over the good, this time the good is going to win," said Giles.

"What makes you think like that ?" asked May.
"Close up the shop, we'll get the girls to the hotel. Just know this May, these are the last days of that battle," said Giles.

May and Giles locked up the museum then they went into the offices of the New Angel Investigations, the place was empty. They each took a van to the Hyperion, at the hotel the vampire slayers were beginning to ready themselves, Giles and May began to ferry them to the Toparius Hotel. After a few trips most of the girls had been moved. One of the vans was left, Giles and May took the journey back to the Hyperion together.

As they walked into the hotel Faith stood in the middle of the room, suddenly she was wearing a uniform, like that of the Riders.

"The others are gone, now I may go."

Wesley and Gunn were starting to come down the stairs, they saw Faith turn and go to leave, then they noticed the deep blue light that flowed from her body as she moved.
At the Toparius Hotel Owen greeted them. The girls are in there, they are waiting. As Faith entered the room all the slayers stood, their clothes changed to the same as Faith's.

"Now I remember where I've seen that uniform," said May, "that's what Xena wore !"
"We are ready, we have been waiting for now, for you. Now we are dressed," said Buffy.

"Look at the bright side Buffy, if nothing happens now, whose going to feel a little bit silly," said Faith.
"Hmm, all dressed up and nowhere to go. Sounds like the name of a song," replied Buffy.

The room began to get brighter, then it was filled with bright light. The light stopped, floating were three Turee's.

"SLAYERS, NOW," called the three Turee's, "Giles, May, Owen, my thanks. Go to be with the others."

Then they and the slayers vanished.

"Quick, we need to get back," said Giles.

At the Hyperion, May asked Spike if the Riders had been seen.

"There's been no reports yet, why's that May."
"We took the slayers to that hotel, when we got Faith there, the others changed, their clothes just changed to be like Faiths, then the Turee's appeared floating and everyone vanished."

Buffy, Faith and Gillian appeared in a suburb of the city.
"What do we do now ?" asked Gillian.
"What they want us to do," said Buffy
"What is that ?, no-one told us," said Gillian.
"Buffy and I knew," said Faith.

Gillian looked up at the glowing that appeared above them.

"You are to protect these two, soon," said Turee, "then send the vampires back to us." And Turee was gone.
"If we're to send the vampires back, shouldn't we hide from them ?" asked Gillian.
"We are," said Buffy.
"Go to the other side of the road, then look back at us," said Faith.

Gillian did as she was told, when she crossed the road she turned around, but saw no-one.

"Where are you, I can't see you, answer me !" called out Gillian.

She heard no reply, then saw a leg and returned.

"We did hear you, but we kept quiet," said Faith smiling.
"Oh, thanks a lot," replied Gillian, "so what happens after we scare the vampiers back ?"
"We get tranported somewhere else," said Buffy.
Then what do we do ?" asked Gillian.

"We play deja-vous," said Faith.
"How's that go ?" asked Gillian.
"What."
"How's that go ?" asked Gillan.

Buffy and Faith dropped to the floor laughing. Gillian realised what she said, just before she saw some vampires running towards them. Appearing on her uniform was a swords and a dagger, a loaded cross bow hung from her side. She ran to confront the vampires cross bow at the ready.
The vampires saw her then ran back.

"I knew you would protect them," said Turee.
"You wanted them protected, who are they ?" asked Gillian.
"When this war is won, all will be revealed," said Turee.
"So, what now ?" asked Gillian.
"When those vampire have gone, then you will know."

"L.A. Tower, this is Singapore Airlines nine one fifteen, we're seeing some strange things up here. There's six unicorns up here."
"Singapore Airlines nine one fifteen, this is L.A Tower, get used to them there's thousands of them marching out of the hills down here."
"These aren't marching, they are flying, there are people on them and there isn't six of them now, there's hundreds of them, and it looks like there coming down to you."

"HEY, guys !, there here, the flying squads here," exclaimed Spike.

Wesley and Gunn ran to see them on the telly. Spike looked at him, then around the room.

"Gunn, where's Illyria, where's Angel ?"
"Oh no, I hope we aren't forgotten," said Wesley.
"Who are you again ?" asked Spike.
"Who ? him, or me ?" asked Gunn.
"Did it go quiet then, or was it just me ?" asked Wesley.

As the lines of the Armed Forces of Byzantium marched forwards many small groups of slayers helped keep the vampires separated, three or four of them at a time were easily dusted.
The vampires that Gillian confronted ran back the way they came, seeing only two Knights in front of them they bravely moved to attack, as if from no-where four more Knights were in front of them. They turned to escape as six more Knights came from the bushes. The vampires were about to get one of them as flashes of steel from the Knights behind them, remade them as dust.

Faith Gillian and Buffy were straightening their uniforms as Gregor became visible to them.

"Glad to see your taking this so seriously," said Gregor.
"Well we've got to look our best, haven't we," said Buffy grinning.
"Before we go, if any of the vampires are missed, won't they just multiply again ?" asked Gillian, "that's a thought, it's as if they don't like being alone and I can't imagine vampires as being scared of the dark."

"Don't worry, if any demons are missed, the secret weapon will activate when the time is right, it will not stop, it cannot be stopped," said Gregor.
"And these uniforms, do we get to keep them ?" asked Gillian.
"You have always had them, they are part of you, you are one in the armies of good, when you need it, it will be as you," said Gregor

"Fair enough then, what now ?" asked Gillian.
"The evil has been dealt a harsh blow, now we rest and prepare for the final battle. Then it'll start again."
"What !, you mean this isn't it ?" asked Gillian.
"This is it, in this dimension. When we're done here, we will go into the next dimension."

"We will actually be in another dimension !"
"No Gillian, when the evil has been stopped here, the wall that keeps us from the next dimension will cease to be. The battle against evil will end," said Faith.
"Why are you smiling Faith ?" asked Gillian.
"Because good times are ahead, the end is almost here, and a new beginning."

CHAPTER 20

THE TWO LIVES OF CAT

"The meeting, it's about Darla being here," said Dawn.
"You may like to spare a few thoughts first, when Angelus realises what is going on here he may attack this place with as many vampires as he can, it would be a good idea to get some more slayers here," said Giles.

"At the meeting we'll make some plans, but word should be circulated that this place is falling apart, what with Spike killing me, Darla being here, we'd want Angelus to attack in force," said Buffy.
"But right now, there's no defence," said Giles.

"I think there is, I was having a chat with Kennedy last night, we wandered around the front. We saw Faith and Gregor talking so we went to them, thing is when we got closer Kennedy pulled me into the bushes," said Buffy, "Faith and Gregor were talking to some-one else, but there was no-one there. I got the feeling that this place is protected. Faith spoke to that thing or person, she said their general is here and something about a doorway."

"I'd like to know more, but until then, it'll be best that we continue as normal," said Giles.
"Hi guys, I see there's a full moon tomorrow night," said Spike.
"So, what's the point ?" asked Buffy.
"Nina will be a werewolf !" said Spike, "you were just on about protection for this place."

"You know, I thought I'd led a strange existence," said Darla, "from what I've learnt about what goes on here, I was like a sunday school teacher."

Giles looked at Darla.

"Oh yeah !, ignore the bit about me having been a vampire," said Darla.
"I knew what you meant, the comparison wasn't the best choice though," replied Giles.

A bright blue flashing comes from the restaurant, Buffy, Spike Dawn and Darla rush in to see what had happened, Giles followed them in.

"There you are Giles, I knew you get here eventually," said Gregor, "do any of you recognise these girls."
"I know them," said Dawn, "Bev, Chloe and Annabelle. They were the first of the potentials."
"That's right Dawn only now they are Soldiers of Byzantium," said Gregor.

"Well I'm glad your all ok," said Buffy, then she hugged them.
"Gregor said that Kennedy is here, that Molly has been here, I'd really like to see them," said Annabelle.
"We'll get Kennedy, but Molly will be another, well, has anyone said who or what she is ?" asked Giles.

"No they're tight lipped about Molly," said Annabelle.
"Well it seems that Molly wasn't who or what we thought she was, she was undercover, from another dimension, sent here to find out about us, to see if we needed help. I thought that we did but none was sent," said Giles.
"Some-one thought we didn't need help," said Spike.
"Either that, or there was help here already," said Buffy.

"What does that mean ?" asked Spike.
"How many was there of us ?, how many of them was there ?, if they had really wanted to they could have got passed us easily," said Buffy.
"Some-one stopped them getting to us ?" asked Spike.
"I'd wondered about that, seeing Faith and Gregor last night," said Buffy.
"That does make sense," said Giles.

Faith walked into the room, see's Buffy.

"That's odd, I go to the shops, when I get back I see three dead bodies above the door, Vi's, yours Buffy, and me," said Faith.
"We had a visit from Angelus's minions, we pretended that I was dead. So now we've taken that lie and embellished it a bit further," said Buffy.
"Or as confuscious would say, What the f...!"

"Not to sure Confusious would say words like that," said Faith.
"Er Giles, come over here a sec, I've been thinking, I'm going to try and find a certain flower shop, it may be handy if we had a few of those blaster guns," said Buffy.
"Any plans on when you'd want to try and contact them ?" asked Giles.

"In a minute or two," replied Buffy.
"You may want to leave that idea then, Dawn saw Riley a few days ago, he was near a flower shop. I asked her to keep quiet until I'd checked them out. But if you want to, we could ask them for some of their guns," said Giles.
"Ok, so how about I get Turee, Xander and Dawn here, you can all go and see Riley together," said Buffy.

"Your coming too, aren't you ?" asked Giles.

Dawn directed Turee to the flower shop. Turee parked a few shops down. She then went into the shop by herself.

"Hi," said Turee, happily.
"WILLOW !" exclaimed Riley, "what are you doing here !, how is every-one, how is Buffy ?"
"They're all ok, they're outside. I came in here to see if it's safe for them and I'm known as Turee now."

"You came in to see if it's safe for them ?" asked Riley.

Just then another made himself noticeable.

"Is he a friend of yours Riley ?" asked Turee.
"You could say that," said Riley smiling at his friend.
"Anything to do with the initiative and that way of thinking ?" asked Turee.
"He is, his name is Simon," said Riley.
"Should you say that to a civilian."

"Remember those stories of Adam ?, well Turee here was instrumental in stopping him," said Riley.
"You doing any demon hunting these days ?" asked Turee.
"We have set up shop here, why."
"I'll get the others in, you might want to join us, we're raising an army."

Turee went outside and signalled for the others to come in."

"Turee, what do you want an army for, how many do you need ?" asked Riley.
"There's a big battle due this week."
"Oh look, the big soldier boy, in a flower shop," said Dawn grinning.
"Knows a thing or two about flower arranging as well Dawn," said Turee.
"Buffy, Xander, Giles, Dawn, this is Simon," said Turee.

"Wait, your Buffy, his old girlfriend, the chosen one, the slayer ?" asked Simon
"Oh, some-one in the initiative knows about slayers ?"
"Yes Buffy, they're taught a few different things these days," said Riley.
"About that then, Buffy isn't the only slayer, there's a few hundred of them now, and several thousand dead ones."
"We don't count the dead though," said Simon.

*30 "And you Riley, still wear blinkers ?" asked Buffy.
"Human here, you tell me what's going on," said Riley.
"We know a lot more since we last met, most of that is thanks to Turee, for one thing Turee is an immortal, all the dead slayers are immortals as well, and they are coming here," said Giles.

"This battle, what is it ?" asked Simon.
"Ever find out the plural of apocalypse Riley ?" asked Buffy.
"This won't be an apocalypse Buffy, this is it, this will be the final battle. Tell your bosses to save their money Riley, by the end of this week there won't be any demons in this world," said Turee.

"That isn't right, won't the walls of this dimension fall ?" asked Giles.
"And you want to make it more complicated for them, why ?" asked Turee.
"Ah, yes, I'll shut up," said Giles.
"How big is there army ?" asked Riley.
"I don't think more than a few million, mind you most of them have been defeated," said Turee.

"How many is there of you ?" asked Simon.
"Not sure, most of us are immortal, we keep coming back for more," said Turee
"Maybe Simon wants to be protected," said Dawn.
"Oh yeah, as if, how many would be needed to protect me ?"
"As many as we see fit," said Turee.

"We won't need to be protected," said Simon.
"If you are with us, you'll be fighting demons of all sorts."
"I understand that Turee, it isn't as though we haven't any knowledge."
"Riley, most the demons wanted to get in before. This time they'll be trying to survive. Does Simon know about hostile seventeen ?" asked Turee.

"Spike right ?, he knows."
"For one thing you won't know who to kill," said Buffy, "Spike is human now and they're are many vampires with us."
"Er guys," said Dawn, "there's a few clouds in here."

In the room echoes of thunder claps bounced of the walls, the ceiling was covered with dark clouds. The King of Arashmahar emerged.

"Must remember to cancel that entrance, sorry Turee. I have a message from the Goddess Illyria, the God Baaliitus will send a million demons to help."
"There are demons with you ?" asked Riley.
"What's he think a vampire is ?" asked Dawn.
"Ok, coming up to speed here, but is Spike trustworthy ?"
"Oh, that's right, have a go at my fella," said Dawn.

"Your dating Spike ?" exclaimed Riley.
"Still here you know," said D'Hoffryn.
"Sorry, thank you for helping," said Turee.
"About helping, you also have a thousand vengeance demons with you, all that you'd have to say is I wish he would go, and he is gone," said D'hoffryn.

"There you go Simon, you can be protected by a demon."
"I'll go now Turee," said D'Hoffryn.

Buffy saw some-one come into the shop, she moved out of the way.

"I take it you didn't recognise me," said Gregor.
"Oh hi, I didn't realise it was you, I haven't seen you with your clothes on, er not in uniform," said Buffy.
"Keep going, wouldn't want you to embarrass yourself," replied Gregor.
"Oh, you know what I mean," said Buffy.

"Is Sam still about ?"
"She's out the back Turee, I'll get her in a minute."
"We ought to get back, you and Sam should come with us," said Turee.

Back at the hotel, Turee went in first. Dawn, Buffy and Riley talked with each other. Sam, Xander and Giles took care of the car.

"Hi Andrea, all quiet here ?" asked Turee.
*31 "Pretty much, you do have a visitor though, an old lady with long grey hair, she's by the garden," replied Andrea.

Turee went to her visitor, the old lady turned around and smiled to Turee.

"Oh wow !, Ismerelda !, how are you ?" asked Turee.
"I'm feeling good, dead, but good."
"So what brings you here ?"
"Every slayer that is or has been is coming here, the guardians want to help."
"Er Buffy, who is Turee talking to ?" asked Dawn.

"I know her, I, oh, she is the guardian that I met, she said she is one who put the scythe in the rock," said Buffy.
"So Turee, mind telling me her name ?" asked Buffy.
"Turee, Buffy, who are they ?" asked Dawn.

Women were walking throught walls, doors, even through the woodwork.

"It's okay Dawn, they are all guardians
"Lets see, I know most of them, who is that one ? maybe you recognise her, her first slayer was the third slayer."

Turee walked up to the woman then threw her arms around her. turning to her friends.

"She is my mum."
"Happy Turee ?" asked Gregor, "if not Emma is here and Cat."
"Cat ! Cat is here !"

Turee quickly looked around, then ran to a young woman and hugged her.

"Buffy why are those girls in uniform ?" asked Dawn.
"I don't know, I don't know who they are," said Buffy.
"Dawn Buffy, these are my friend Emma, and my sister Cat."
"Her sister ? but they don't look even similar," said Dawn.
"I changed skin and hair colour remember," said Turee.

"Why call her Cat ?"
"That's easy Dawn, when I was young I couldn't say her name, so I called her Cat, seems the name stuck."
"Turee dear, I'm going to be busy, why don't you take them for a drive round here."
"Good idea," said Spike, "we'll take Angel's car, me, you, your sister, Emma Dawn and Dana."

"Good idea, we can show them the museum and then go and see the harbour lights," said Dawn.
"Oh great, show them Lovers Look Out. Know the way do you Dawn," said Turee grinning knowingly at Dawn.
"Meaning what ?! exclaimed Dawn.
"Beats being told to get a room," said Dana.

"Hnnn, I'm going to the car," said Dawn.

Spike and Dana followed her. Emma looked at them, then Cat and then Turee.

"That Dawn and him are good together, yet Dawn is okay with them being together, why ?" asked Emma.

"I'll try and explain, Dawn is a watcher, Dana is her vampire slayer, and Spike had both his hands cut off by Dana, but that was when he was a vampire," said Turee.

"He's a vampire !" exclaimed Cat.
"Used to be," said Turee.
"There isn't a cure, oh flipping heck, that's, OH GOOD GRIEF !! he's the one, he's the vampire that's been made human !, why ?" asked Emma.

"He was chosen to wear the Grail, he's a good person, he cares about people, he has a sense of humour and sometimes he is funny," said Turee smiling.
"Come on you lot, if we go now we should get to see the best of the harbour lights," said Spike.

As they were driving Turee told Emma and Cat the landmarks. Spike, Dawn and Dana thought it great fun to say the about the drainage system, what went into it, where it went. Emma was dumbfouded that so much waste was allowed to endanger the life of the planet. At the museum Cat and Emma were impressed that a uniform was there. Emma asked Turee why they were allowed to have it.

"Well, a few years ago we were put up against the forces of Byzantium, the Knights had been told to stop the key, who is Dawn. Before the masses were deployed we were able to stop Glory from ending the world," said Turee.
"We were to be a part of the army that would have been against you," said Cat.

"Good job we stopped her when we did," said Turee.
"That wasn't why we didn't appear, there was talk of some really important people trying to stop Glory, normally we get told, but this time they tried to keep it a secret," said Cat.

"I was told that the stopper came from him, seems he said your friends would stop her."
"Illyria once said about three non humans in the room, now I knew who two were. Your the other one, aren't you," said Dawn.
"Considering that Turee's sister is here, I think you'd better start explaining," said Spike.

Turee looked at Cat.

"Sorry, their right though, it shouldn't be kept a secret."

Turee held Cat's shoulders.

"I was born your sister, I am your sister, it's just that I'm not alone is this body."
"Yeah, we now, Willow is with you," said Spike.
"Yes, Spike, there is Willow, there is me Turee, the Goddess Turee. I am also known as the Goddess Aradia."

"When Gregor said about your armies, did he mean the Knights ?" asked Spike.
"The Knights are only a hand full, I control the armies of good."
"The other, Goddess Medusera ?" asked Spike.
"She chooses the slayers," said Turee, "this war, through all the dimensions, it was my idea."

"Ok, but there is something I want to know," said Dana, "who or what is Cat short for ?"
"Sorry Cat, when I was younger I had problems saying her real name, so I started calling her Cat, I guess the name stuck."
"My real name is Vampiera."

All was quiet, then Spike burst out laughing.

"A vampire slayer called Vampiera !!"
"It seemed a nice name, till some-one called them vampires, I was glad my little sister couldn't pronounce my name."

"I'd feel the same if my name was Apple, sunrise or Soya-Bean," said Spike.

CHAPTER 21 part 1

GOING THROUGH THE MOTIONS

"A-ha your back, I'm glad. 'cos we need more rooms, that other place is full and they've got three to a room there. Luckily some of them are ghosts, but even so, they aren't to happy about sleeping on the floor," said Chaser.
"Who is coming ?" asked Buffy.

"Oh just a few slayers, guardians, vengeance demons, vampires. Gregor said that many of his troops are on standyby. Then there's the PTB, their offspring and their friends, some of them have been dead for thousands of years. And I'm not counting those who are fighting right now, seems that there are battles everywhere, reducing their numbers," said Chaser.

"This is going to be one hell of a really big fight then, huh," said Sam.
"Any-one that's living or dead that wants to be in the fight, thing is, the evil is being killed, or herded to here. The two most powerful will be here and they will be killed, except Angelus," said Buffy.
"Oh, you want to kill him yourself ?" asked Dawn.

"Lets just say, when I catch up with him, he won't see the dark of night again."
"That's then, what do we do now ?" asked Riley
*32 "Well I got all dressed up, I say we go out," said Buffy.
"Where ?. Oh I know, there's a games hall near here, we could all go there," said Turee.
"You coming with us, aren't you Chaser ?" asked Dawn.

So Anya, Xander, Turee, Buffy, Chaser, Dawn, Giles, Sam and Riley turned and made for the doors.

"Er Buffy, before we go, can I get Spike ?" asked Dawn.
"Ok with me, any-one mind ?. Go get him Dawn," said Buffy.

As they walked into the games hall it became apparent that the lights, bells, alarms, sirens and shouts of glee would make them forget what was about to happen.
Buffy joined Dawn and Spike as they headed to the pinball machines. Riley and Sam joined Xander and Anya. Turee and Giles wandered around looking at the various machines until a racing game caught their imagination.

"You any good at these games ?" asked Giles.
"Not really, the closest I've come is putting the car into first at a set of traffic lights," said Turee, "how about you ?"
"That time I got to close to a wall and I slammed on the brakes," said Giles.
"So, if nothing else, it should be a laugh," said Turee.

First off, they took the amateur status, Giles 'roared' off, Turee tried to keep him in sight, even after a couple of races Turee hardly saw Giles's car. Feeling pleased with himself Giles opted for the rookie status, but this time Turee nearly passed him and finished only a cars length behind him. Giles was how-ever feeling bad about always winning and wanted to try another machine. Turee, unfortunately for Giles had caught the racing bug and wasn't happy that Giles wanted to stop.

*33 "Well Buckle up Rupert," said Turee as she pressed for the expert level, " 'cos I've just turned pro."

Back at the hotel Faith and Wesley were trying to make battle plans.

"This would be easier if we knew what every one else was going to do," said Wesley.
"Ask and you will be told," said Gregor.
"I wonder if Gregor ever watched that childrens program, The Magic Roundabout. 'cos he seems to enjoy doing the Zeberdee thing," said Faith.

"Gregor, glad your here, we need to do battle plans," said Wesley.
"They've all been done, you need to get your people here, all of them, especially the vampires," said Gregor.
"That shouldn't be to hard," said Wesley.
"Well it's nearly nine now, you've got three hours," said Gregor.

"WHAT ! I thought that the we'd have till the end of tomorrow before we started," said Wesley.
"Oh no," replied Gregor, "it'll be over by then. The battles over this world have nearly finished, it's just the few in this city that are left. They'll be herded and destroyed by Illyria's forces her 'special friends', the ones that are needed will be guided here."

"I'll ring Giles,and get him here, I didn't realise we had so little time," said Wesley.
"Get them here, especially Spike, fast. This will be a safe haven for all."
"Hang on Gregor, if this is a safe haven why are the main evil being hereded here ?" asked Faith.
"It's the plan, they will be safe here," said Gregor.

"Gregor, I've just got Giles on the phone," said Wesley.
"Oh Giles, having fun ?" asked Gregor.
"Not really, Turee just beat me on a car racing game," said Giles.
"Good timing then, get them all back here now, the end of the final battle will start soon, here," said Gregor.

"Who should we expect here ?" asked Faith.
"Angelus and the Kuh-rotan will be guided here," said Gregor, "but don't kill Angelus," said Gregor.
"What do we do till then ?" asked Faith.
"Get this place ready, board up the doors and the window, once they are in, I don't want them getting out alive," said Gregor.

"How should we stop Angelus, or the Kuh-rotan," asked Wesley.
"I don't want you to do anything to Angelus or the Kuh-rotan, but if they get injured that's ok though. Get Anya, Suzy, Xander and Giles to go into the basement, the doorway to the sewers has been blocked off. A higher being will wait for them," said Gregor.

"A higher being, higher than you ?" asked Faith.
"She is a Goddess, I am only an immortal," said Gregor.
"Ok then, but will there be enough if us here ?" asked Wesley.
"More than enough, four vampires, three Knights, three soldiers, seven slayers, a werewolf, demon, part demon, ex demon, the ghosts those of the Elite who have been here, and a few thousand other immortals," said Gregor.

"Sound ok Wes ?" asked Faith.
"Like he said," replied Wesley, "but just to make sure, can Angel be brought back okay."
"That is a main priority," said Gregor," now start redecorating."

After ten minutes the main doors opened.

"Hmm, I like it, not my choice of decorating, but I like it," said Spike, "what are you doing here ?"
"This is what Gregor told us to do. Get all the cross bows Spike and put them on the balcony. Oh Turee, glad your here, you can take charge now, kind aren't we ?" asked Faith.

A soft blue glow rose from the floor, filling the room with the pure blue light. Turee knelt then waited for the figure of.

*34 "Goddess Te'ara I welcome thee."
"But that's Tara !" exclaimed Dawn, "she's a Goddess ? but all that happened, her family."
"That was for Spike," said Turee, "some of the higher being needed to be shown that Spike could be good. Hitting Tara on the nose, not the best way. But Spike did it for another."

"If your going to help some-one, it's good if the person you help is a Goddess," said Giles.
"It's good to see you again Te'ara, can we be together soon ?" asked Turee.
"Soon, very soon," said Te'ara, then looking into Turee's eyes she touched Turee's face, "in two minutes, four will be here."

Te'ara faded back into the floor, Turee looked at the place where her friend had just been.

"Places every-one ! there's four vampires about to be here !" shouted Turee.
Buffy, Vi and Faith ran up the stairs as on the balcony the sixteen of the Demon Hunters, the Merry Maidens appeared. Around Dawn and Kennedy twelve of the Elite appeared, armed and ready.

Four vampires burst into the hotel.

"Did you see what was over the doorway," said the last vampire.
"It was my body," said Vi.
"And mine," shouted Faith.
"Did you notice that we're vampire slayers," said Buffy.

Buffy let an arrow fly from her cross bow just as Darla appeared. It hit her shoulder.

"Ooh, that stings, Oh, it's got your name on it, it must be for you."

The vampire bent over to see his name, just as Darla vanished. The vampire stepped back in amazement as a hail of small arrows rained down into them turning their bodies to dust. Darla and Gregor appeared

"So Darla, would you like to see Connor ?"
"Thanks, I would," replied Darla.
"I'll find out what he's doing," said Gregor.
"Well I thought that was fun," said Spike.
"Excuse me ! Hey you guys ! Spikey, Wesley, still here you know, the retriever, Woof !" exclaimed Darla.

"Your not that type of retriever, as if I'd ever say that my sister is a dog." Then quietly to Wesley, "unless her name is Darla."

Gregor re-appeared.

"Connor is asleep, if you want to Darla, you can be in his dreams, and he'll remember them," said Gregor.
"Suzy, Anya, Xander and Giles your prescence is required in the basement," said Turee.

As they went into the basement and the door closed behind them, Xander froze in his footsteps.

"What, what is he doing here ?" asked Xander.
"Anya, Suzy, that I believe is our friend Angel, not Count Angelus," said Giles.
"But as I understood it, Angelus was the evil in Angel, they are the same aren't they ?" asked Suzy.
"Your right Suzy dear, will you tell Spike that when he heard Angel in the alley say 'who are you', Angel had seen one of the tothric clan," said Goddess Te'ara.

"I remember them Xander, the demons whose tool splits the two personalities of a person, so in this case Angelus the evil from Angel the good."
"Where has Angel been of late ?" asked Xander.
"He's been in the tunnels, he was a bit lost down there," said Goddess Te'ara.
"So what are we here for ?" asked Anya.
"For when Angelus gets here, the Goddess will join them as Angel," said Xander.

"Giles draw a pentagram on the floor, just here," pointed the Goddess Te'ara,
"Suzy put a candle at each point of the pentagram."

They heard a light tapping above them.

"Anya light the candles please," said Goddess Te'ara, "Xander help me put Angel into the centre of the pentagram."

The Goddess Te'ara sat, eyes closed, suddenly her eyes flashed open. A column of light filled around Angel, it seemingly rose through the ceiling.

Angelus, Drusilla and Harm had been chasing Kendra, they chased her for two blocks. Kendra ran into an old building, Angelus thrust the doors open just as
he recognised the building he was in, he saw Kendra walk throught the floor as the air was filled with small short pieces of wood. Drusilla and Harm became piles of dust. Angelus was by himself, he watched as slayers moved around him, stepping away from them he moved into the pillar of light, then he saw blackness.

"Giles, Xander ?" asked Angel, "whats going on, Tara ?"
"Let me introduce them," said Xander, "this is Anya, my wife and Suzy. This isn't Tara it is the Goddess Te'ara."
"I've seen you before, if your the Goddess Te'ara does that mean soon, it begins soon ?" asked Angel.
"No, soon it ends. Follow the steps up," said the Goddess Te'ara.

Angel climbed the staircase, opened the door, he went into the foyer, seeing Darla he went towards her. As he was near her he felt the gaze of many slayers, turning he saw them.

"Hello Angel, how are you ?" asked Faith.
"I just saw the Goddess Te'ara she said soon, does she mean ?"
"Yes, my husband, very soon," replied Faith.

CHAPTER 21 part 2

"Places Every-one," called out Turee.

The main doors opened, in came a grey haired man. Joyce went around him.

"I think the hotels got a visitor," said Joyce.

As Turee moved forward to greet him, she became aware that Riley was beside her.

"You know him Riley ?" asked Turee.
"He's the Initiative's liason to the government, head of the Department of Defence, his name is Mr Rram," said Riley.
"I was hoping to see a Mr Giles," said Mr Rram.

Riley, a short distance from Mr Rram, stood to attantion and saluted him.

"Col. Riley Finn sir, Giles is this way sir. You were told to stay off the streets until the fighting has finished sir."
"Yes, but there wasn't any fighting reported. I thought it was safe for me."
"The fighting isn't over yet sir, at some poi...

The main doors were smashed from their hinges, they bounced on the floor. A howl of winds, flashes of lightning and thunder vibrated in the room. A tall majestic looking figure stood in the centre of the floor.
Dawn and Kennedy rose from the balcony then floated down to the foyer floor.

"Who, or what is that, and who did that ?" asked Mr Rram.
"He is The Kuh-rotan, it was Turee that did that," said Goddess Te'ara.
"Powerful young woman," said Mr Rram.
"Not young sir," said Riley, "several thousand years old."
"And the rest," said Goddess Te'ara.

Turee faced Dawn and Kennedy, she held her arms wide, as one they chanted.

" Uoo nis I yaY, nNay Isen ah yaY. Igia U GA-ntio, isen I sen ya A."
"What was that !"
"Magical chanting sir," said Riley.
"Not really, just the normal way you humans try to get our attention."
"Whose attention ?" asked Mr Rram.

"Mine and Turee's."
"So was she talking to herself ?"
"No, she was talking to me."
"And who are you ?" asked Mr Rram.
"This is the Goddess Te'ara sir."

"We decided not to do any magics for ourselves, saves any disagreement and arguements," said Goddess Te'ara.
"Do you know what she wants ?" asked Mr Rram.
"Yes, Kennedy is a human, Dawn wants to be a human and in a minute or so she will be," said Goddess Te'ara.

"Then that'll be the end ?"
"Once the Kuh-rotan is held, then Mr Giles will bring his gift to appear."
"AR RAH DI AH, DI AHN AH, AR RAH DI AH, DI AHN AH. AN EN DI-EN, SU EST TE A CET IEN, AH-CUUM !. A CET-iEN AH-CUUM. AH-CET-iEN AH CUUM !!

The vampire slayers and demon hunters slowly began to walk down the stairs, Goddess Turee faced, them held out her arms then.

"AN EN, IDE IDI, EN DEN, EB ON, OM RE."

All the slayers repeated what the Goddess and just said. Their eyes turned to a bright orange, for every step they took they repeated two more words. As they neared the Kuh-rotan they formed two circles, one clockwise, one counter clockwise, more slayers rose through the floor to join them.

From the balcony Xander, Wesley and Spike looked down at the spectacle, they saw a bluish white light behind each of them, the light grew in intensity until two circles of light surrounded the Kuh-rotan. Giles carried the amulet in it's case to the Goddess Turee. She bowed to the case, lifted the glass cover resting it on the floor. She took the amulet on it's bed of red velvet, she lifted it up.

"From he who is the descendant of Joseph of Arimethea, I offer this amulet to you, so that you may use it in the way it was meant to be used."

The amulet slowly began to rise from its bed of velvet, as it rose above its resting place, it began to change shape, it became a goblet, a dull yellow goblet. The air around it began to ripple as that of a heat haze. Tiny sparks emanated from its surface, the ripples of air grew wider, the sound of air
rushing filled the room, a brilliant blue light emerged from the goblet and
became orange, pulses of light from every surface of the goblet sped away, three groupings of three and two.

Spike looked to Xander.

"Ring the bells now."

The goblet lowered to the velvet base changing to the amulet. The container was given back to Giles, he replaced it's cover.

"It is done," said The Goddess Turee, then pointing to the circles of light, " the Kuh-rotan, as his followers called him, the TI-RST-NI-CHA, it is no more."

Faith looked at Angel.

"It is ended."

Angel looked at his beautiful wife.

"We can be together again, look !" said Angel pointing to where the wall used to be.

Faith looked and saw a tunnel with a light at its end, a lone figure was walking towards them.

"Is it him ?" asked Faith.
"No, it's not him," said D'Hoffryn, "it's Gregor trying to make a big entrance."

As Gregor came into the room he looked at D'Hoffryn, smiled then shook his head.

"Looks like we'll be good friends."

Gregor walked to the centre of the foyer, he looked around, then said to Xander.

"So, what have you to say ?"

"Country men and women, oh and you Spike, you did all this for me, I should reveal who I really am."

He ripped off his shirt and...............[silence]

"That was a joke people !," shouted Anya, "so laugh !"
"Oh yes, ha ha," said Giles.

Illyria walked into the hotel, she stood and looked around her, smiled a little.

"Xander, I was told of you fixing Buffy's house. Were you getting practise for these doors tomorrow ?"

Illyria walked into the tunnel followed by her special friends, they went through a portal that Illyria created, she returned and went to stand next to Gregor. They held hands.

"Back in a minute," he said.

When Gregor returned he was by himself.

"Illyria did not belong here, she has gone back to her home world and her friends, but she said she would leave a reminder of her," said Gregor.

A lone figure appeared walking along the tunnel. The ghost of Fred went into her. The figure walked up to Wesley.

*35 "Can I stay now ? is Feigenbaum here ?" asked Fred.

The Knights and Soldiers of Byzantium marched into the tunnel and to a well earned rest.

"Vi I'd like you to stay with Clem and be a guardian to the slayers. I'm assuming that Suzy will want to go back to Sharpsville, with Xander and Anya, Dawn and Spike, Wesley and Fred. Andrea, Chaser, Thompson, Gunn, Giles and Joyce seems like you'll be staying here. Te'ara and Turee, thank you, will you be going home ?" asked Gregor.

The glow around Te'ara and Turee enveloped them both, Turee smiled at her friends.

"Thank you all, it was good to call you all friends, Willow wants to be at Sharpville."
"What she said, bye Gregor." The sound of Te'ara's voice seemed to drift around the room, "we won't be to far away and we hope you will all be happy."
"That leaves Buffy and Angel," said Gregor.
"Before they go, this battle seemed a bit quick," said Xander.

Gregor smiled at Xander.

"Many years ago Angel followed Buffy into an alley, Angel gave Buffy a necklace, a silver cross one that was the same as the one he gave his bride when he was married. Coincidently their house is in a valley where the sun always shines."
"What's a coincidental about that ?" asked Xander.

"A Sunnydale," said Gregor, "the ring that Faith had as her wedding ring is known as the ring of Amara, I'm glad it'll be with them again."

Angel and Faith joined hands and began to walk into the tunnel
Those that been left talked and began to indulge themselves. Nina and Owen saddened by their loss took comfort from each other.
Hours later

"Hey every-one, there's two Generals of Byzantium in the garden," said Fred.

As they all went into the garden many off them asked who Gregor was with.
In the garden were the two Generals of the Armed Forces of Byzantium, Angel and Faith, they smiled then waved goodbye.

THE ARC

"What is it Angel ?, what's wrong ?" asked Faith.
"How can I explain all that has happened to Connor."
"We'll call in some friends, get some help, then go and see him," said Faith.
"But who could we call to help ?" asked Angel.
"Call a few, call them all, just ask for help," said Faith.

"Where could we meet ?"
"The offices of NAI, or the Hyperion," said Faith.
"The offices sound better."
"I'll go and see Connor first, with Darla," said Faith.

"Connor !, can you get two glasses of water ?. There are two women out the front that are lost, I'm just going for a map," said Laurence.
"Ok dad," said Connor, I'll do it now."

Connor carried the two glasses of water to the women, when he saw them he thought that he knew them. He couldn't remember where from though.

"Hello Connor," said Darla.
"I'm glad you said that, your my real mother aren't you ?. Aren't you a vampire ?" asked Connor.
"If she was she wouldn't be here ," said Faith.
"Meaning what ?"

"We could get off topic here, how about we just tell him and she what his reaction is ?" asked Darla.
"Your father wants to see you Connor, but he's nervous of your reaction," said Faith.
"Ok, are you going to take me to his house ?" asked Connor.
"That's one of the thing's we need to tell you, Angel's and my house is in heaven, you won't be allowed in as your alive."

"This could get complicated," said Faith to Darla.
"That's why I'm here," said The Goddess Turee.
"I've met you before, your Willow right ?" asked Connor.
"Wrong, but an easy mistake, my friend and I are the Goddesses Te'ara and Turee. We are your friends. Your father wants to speak to you, he wants to explain what's happened, but he's worried about your reaction."

"Sounds ok to be, I'd like to see my father again. So where and when ?"
"It isn't for just for you, we want you to get the rest of your family," said Goddess Turee.
"How could I tell them, I don't know it all myself," said Connor.
"Just tell your folks it's about the trust fund, they'll get the idea."

Two days later, Connor with Aunt Tracy, his sister Gloria and his mum and dad, Colleen and Laurence turned up at the offices of NAI in Westcotes. Gloria commented that the trip was over pretty quickly. Connor was beginning to get a bit nervous about the situation.

"Hi," said Nina, "we've been told to expect you, come in and meet every-one."
"Will there be any-one famous here ?" asked Gloria.
"Yes and no, there's people and beings here who are famous, just not to you," said Fred.
"What do you mean by beings ? are they like the doctors that helped my dad," said Connor.

"Oh no, god no, I mean like Illyria," said Fred.
"I met that Illyria, she looked a lot like you, but she did have a nice outfit on."
"That wasn't an outfit Connor, it is her skin and there's a reason why she looks like me, when she came to life in this world she did so in my body," said Fred, "oh Illyria, can you come here please."
"His body still warms when I am near," said Illyria.

"Love that blue, where did you get it ?" asked Colleen.
"It is part of me," said Illyria.
"Illyria isn't human, she was a hell-god, but I'd prefer to call her the Goddess Illyria as I see her as a friend, she's a nice person," said Fred, "which would be a contentious issue when introducing oh, which one of you is who ?" asked Fred.

"Shall we tell them, this could be fun," said Willow or was it Turee.
"Who can tell them apart ?" asked Gloria.
"Te'ara's best bet," said Fred.
"Connor, Angel and Faith should be here soon, oh oops," said Turee.
"Speaking of Te'ara," said Giles, "I have one or two questions for her."

"Ask me, maybe I can help," said Turee.
"Just a thought, should I call you Turee or Goddess Turee ?" asked Giles.
"If I glow I am as a Goddess, but do I call you watcher Giles or Giles ?, what is it that you want to ask."
"At the start of the slayers line there was the three men, who were they ?"

"Yoo-hoo Te'ara, did you hear what Giles wants to know ?" asked Turee.
"That's why I came here, originally they were demons, but they wanted to be good and I tried to help them," said Goddess Te'ara.
"An ex demon trying to do good, I've heard of that before," said Giles.
"Just once or twice," said Turee.

"Those three were joined by another demonic type, they became infamous together, they were referred to as the four horsemen of the apocalypse," said Te'ara.
"Ok, so they were at the point of wanting to be good, them being demonic they were able to give the spirit of a demon to the first slayer," said Giles.

"That's the thing, when a slayer is activated she feels a surge of power in her being, that is the demonic prescence. It gives them the ability to kill the demons without bad memories, that and the strength," said Te'ara, "the only negative to come out of it was when the humans created the watchers council."

"So, should I still do the council ?" asked Giles.
"They were not like you, you are the first watcher that we have chosen, you can teach the others what we tell you, as a chosen one you have a special gift, you can appear as an animal. A few did that before but they concentrated on being animals not as being watchers, they were known as Shamans."

"Getting back to my question, what happened to those three ?" asked Giles.
"The humans unwittingly gave them a lot of spare time, they made them redundant," said Te'ara.
"How ?, what happened."

"Imagine the four horsemen riding up and declaring that you were about to die. Either the rockets would have landed and killed you or you'd have seen it on tv, heard about the rockets on the internet, or you'd have had a phone call."

"Excuse me Te'ara. Giles, this is Connor, Angel's son," said Fred.
"We have met, has he told you yet ?" asked Giles.
"He hasn't got here yet," said Willow.
"Hope I'm not interrupting here," said Sally, "it's just that this book is wrong."
"One of my books is wrong," said Giles, "unheard of, well I thought it was funny."

"There's an old drawing of a man, it says that he was thought to be a vampire slayer. It's just that I've got the same picture at home, he's one of my ancestors, he's not a slayer he's like me, a vampire !" said Sally.
"Let me see that," said Giles.
"He was my umpteen times grandfathers brother," said Sally.

"Turee, get Angel here, we've got a problem here," said Giles.
"So he's an ancestor, what's the problem ?" asked Sally.
"Buffy, have a look at this picture, who is it ?"
"What's up Giles ?, he's that slayer," said Buffy.
"Sally just saw the picture, she said that he's an ancestor, he was a vampire," said Giles.

"The slayers were all girls ! glad about that. Oh, oh that could make Angel's life a bit awkward," said Buffy.
"What's it got to do with Angel ?" asked Sally.
"Angel and Darla's son was kidnapped by him," said Giles.
"Connor is only in his early twenties, what's it got to do with him ?"

"Oh Darla !, I'm glad your here, Sally just told us that this picture is one of her ancestors, Daniel Holtz was a vampire," said Giles.
"How sure are you Sally."
"Its the same picture of him, there was a bit of a mystery, his wife died from unknown causes, his daughter vanished and he seemed to vanish, but it's definately him," said Sally.

"About that, I've got a few answers for you, but you may not like what I'm going to tell you," said Darla, "I sired his daughter."
"So she could have been both types of vampire, get your head around that one," said Sally.
"Yes, but Angelus Killed his wife."

"It was a lucky thing that you attacked his family then, you saved him from thinking some strange thoughts. If you hadn't, it would have caused him some serious doubts, just think about it. His pregnant daughter, her natural act of drinking blood to feed her unborn child after changing into a tigress. Then she would have carried on with what she was doing, in the sunlight."

"So there's no demon in you ?" asked Connor.
"None at all," said Sally.
"He wouldn't have known he was a vampire, he'd never know," said Giles.
"So a vampire tricked Connor into believing a vampire killed him," said Nina.
"Hmm ok, that's straight forward enough, I can live with that," said Connor.

"You've met Buffy haven't you Connor," said Nina.
"Sort of, I do remember father talking of her, your like Faith aren't you, your a vampire slayer," said Connor.
"I'm not like Faith, and we are not vampire slayers, but we were," said Buffy, "and we're great friends now."

"Didn't my father date you ?"
"He did, sort of, in the war I was to play a part, they wanted some-one who wanted Angel to survive," said Buffy.
"Didn't you send him to hell once ?" asked Connor.
"Yes, but well, he did deserve it."
"So how did he get out of hell ?"

"That took a bit of planning by me, but it worked out for the better as I was able to bring Illyria into it. I knew she wanted to get Glorificus out of it, so I offered her a way, although I didn't tell her the details. Anyway Angel was sent out of hell and everything was back on track for a while," said Turee.
"There was a small problem with me getting back into hell, I met a two headed demon that caused me to leave. As it was she got an old friend of mine to save Angel, that old friend was much loved," said Illyria.

"Who was it ?" asked Colleen.
*36 "She is known to you Connor, you've met her, how many people do you know who've gone to hell to save their husband ?"
"Faith ? Faith was the one !, you mean Faith and Illyria were friends before you knew her ?" asked Connor.
"It was because of Faith that I knew of Illyria," said Turee, "Faith's home is Arilily, she was once a demon."

"Did I cause you any problems ?" asked Connor.
"A few, but it all worked out, plus I got to meet you, aren't I lucky ?. This is when you say yes," said Turee.
"Sorry, yes, is Angel, is my father a vampire or not ?" asked Connor.
"No, he's a General of the Armed Forces of Byzantium, I wanted him to be a part of this war," said Turee.

"So how old is he ?"
"Your father is two thousand four hundred and four next month," said Turee.
"Bet your glad you don't have to catch up with all the birthday pressies you've missed," said Gloria.
"That's a good point," said Angel.

"Hi, father, what's it like to be that old."
"I've been used to it for a while now, umm, why are you calling me father ?" asked Angel.
"That's simple, both my dads are here, so as you fathered me you get to be called father, I can call you Angel though."

"What was the hardest problem you had Turee ?" asked Connor.
"Oh, that was when the evil got a hold on Willow, I went into Giles to help him put the spark of humanity back into her. I was able to amplify it then Xander stepped up to the plate and brought her back."
"How long has this fight been going on for ?" asked Laurence.

"Pretty much all of the time, this world was here but a few things needed to be changed to make it suitable for humans. The creatures that were here before weren't very endearing, they were of the demon kind, it was then that this war started. Connor do you remember what Jasmine wanted to do, we were already doing it, she wanted to eat people though, eventually she would have eaten all the humans," said Turee.

"This way is better then, I think I'm clear on every-one except Buffy," said Connor.
"She is the General of Bouicandeni, the Union Fighting Force, they known as the Elite. They are the special forces of Bouicandeni who are the special forces of Byzantium," said Turee.

"This was the end then ?" asked Connor.
"In this time yes, well it was, as the walls to another dimension has already fallen. Now the final end will happen," said Turee, "now we join them, when the demon hunters go into hell the end will be near."

"Is there enough of them, will our help be wanted ?" asked Nina.
"With who is from here, and from there, if you want to help they won't help they won't refuse," said The Goddess Turee.

The immortals searched, but if the Goddess called,
The hunters would rise from their stone circles,
To protect the people, the land, and the all.

They would battle with the demons in the air,
They would fight with the demons on the land,
They'd go into hell, and fight the demons there.

THE NEW ANGEL INVESTIGATIONS PART 2 THE DEMON HUNTERS

CHAPTER 23 MAIDEN'S NEW HOME

Tom, Garet and Pitts looked mystified.
"I was enjoying a quiet game with sis, then I'm here with you guys. How did I get here ?, who brought me ?" asked Dawn.
"Ah, your here," said Curremy.
"What's happening ?" asked Garet.

"We came here hoping to find some ghosts. What do we find instead, vampires that attacked us, then Dawn appeared here," said Tom.
"What about Pitts ?, he's a vampire !, and Curremy ?" asked Garet.
"Then there's this place, how does this place fit in ?, there's a bit of dust but not much, was one of them vampires looking after this place ?. Look at this,
a newspaper cutting of the owner, it's of one of them vampires," said Tom.

Pitts was leaning against the reception counter when Garet returned from the back room.

"How is Westy, is he still in pain ?" asked Garet.
"Nah, he's dead," replied Pitts.

As Garet was about to pick up the phone, it rang.

"Is Chaser there ?"
"Um yeah, out the back," said Garet shrugging his shoulders.
"Oh good, we'll be there soon."

Garet put the phone down and all was quiet again.

"Who, who is that ?" asked Pitts.

Garet watched as the woman went over to Westy.

"Oh dear, he's dead."
"There was a picture of you in the paper, your Chaser," said Tom.
"Hi," said Pitts.
"Who are you all ?" asked Chaser.
"I'm Garet, this is Tom, Pitts, Curremy, and that is Westy," said Garet.

Two other people walked into the room. With a plate of sandwiches

"Didn't think to get blood for the vampire, these are Andrew and Tommy," said Chaser.
"Thanks for saving us a problem, we knew about these vampires, we came here to get rid of them," said Tommy.

They sat down, Curremy put Westy's dead body down next to Tom who got up and moved almost immediately.

"So what's her story ?" asked Chaser.
"Curremy is a friend, we met her a day or two ago, she seemed interested in ghost hunting, that who we are. She was a good friend a few minutes ago, hang on. How do you know about vampires ? We only came here 'cos we thought that there was a few ghosts here, then we're attacked by them, that's when we found out about Pitts," said Garet.

Curremy walked over to the three of them, she turned to face Garet.

"Why does this one dress as a boy ?"
"What is she on about ?" asked Tommy.
"About Curremy, she chose to be our friend, she is usually right, if she says he is a girl I'd believe her," said Pitts.

Andrew stood and faced Curremy.

"Your right, I am a girl, my name is Anthea."
"You should be proud to be a girl, I am, I came to this world to fight another
"Hold up there a minute, you came to this world ?" asked Garet.
"Hey wait up !, it was you, your the one, your the one that brought me here."
"I was told to, the General of the Elite said you would be needed," said Curremy.

"Who is she, Curremy ?" asked Garet.
"She was a vampire slayer, known as Buffy," said Curremy.
"I knew there was something about her," said Pitts.
"Do you mean that she'll be here soon ?" asked Chaser.
"She should be here now."

"Garet, can you give Graeves a call, and get Scherry here ?" asked Pitts.
"Who is this Scherry ?" asked Curremy.
"If I make Westy a vampire, then Scherry, Graeves and I can give him his will to help people, he will be ok-ish," said Pitts.

Garet rang Graeves.

"Hello can I help you ?" asked Graeves.
"Yes, Westy will need yours and Scherry's help, according to Pitts," said Garet.
"Who, oh, where are you ?" asked Graeves.

"Yeah sorry, it's Garet, we're at a big house, near Totnes. Its on the Totnes to Newton Abbot road. We've just had an encounter with some vampires. Pitts is a vampire, he says he can help Westy but he'll need help," said Garet.
"Scherry should be able to do that, she is near there, I'll be there tonight, she'll be there tomorrow morning."

Garet put the phone down then went to see Pitts.

"He said he'll be here tonight Scherry'll be here tomorrow."
"We need to put Westy somewhere safe, because when he is one of the undead he may try to kill some-one," said Pitts.

At nine forty that night Graeves turned up, after greeting a few people he asked about their new accomodation.

"Like I told you, we only vame here because of ghosts, who as it appears were vampires, but we killed them," said Garet.
"Good thing you weren't to quick," said Tommy.
"Meaning what ?" asked Pitts.
"One of them vampires you got was my uncle, he gave this place to me and I got to say goodbye to him, that was a shock. Its one thing to kill their kind, it's another to find out your uncle is one of them," said Anthea.

*1 "Hey up,you guys, I've just seen a ghost, she walked through two walls right in front of me, that was strange 'cos this ghost stopped and smiled at me !, she was wearing a long gown but I think it was a modern copy of one. Her gown was floor length, she carried a little parasol, and she had diamond earrings and a diamond hair grip at the back of her head," said Dawn.

"Its unusual to see that much detail of a ghost," said Garet.
"How come you and Pitts are friends now Garet ?" asked Graeves.
"As you know Pitts and I tolerated each other, well when thosr vampires attacked us it was Pitts and Curremy who saved us, four of them had me pinned down when Pitts came to my rescue and did a sweeney on them."
"What's a sweeney ?" asked Graeves.

*2 "Sweeney Todd, a barber of Fleet St London," said Garet.
"You know what he means now dad," said Pitts.
"Ay ?, oh no, don't tell me he's you dad," said Garet.

Anthea stood up went to Graeves then to Pitts and Tom.

"Just as I thought," said Anthea.
"What's going on here ?" asked Garet.
"Think the cat is trying to get out of the bag, any-one want to help it ?" asked Pitts.
"I reckon I know, I'm a bit of a psychic, I'm known as a see-er by some, Curremy isn't a human you know, Pitts is a vampire, just like his helper Graeves," said Dawn.

"That explains why he got here at night and why his car has blackened windows, doesn't explain how he got here so fast though," said Chaser.
"I was coming this way, I used to live near here. I was married to a girl but she died a couple of years ago, she was twenty eight going on five hundred and twenty, we sort of adopted this lad, pillock calls me dad now," said Graeves,

"I don't call you dad all the time though, only now and then to wind you up. Just a thought, ever hear from Darla and her daughters ?" asked Pitts.
"That's one of the reasons why I came here, they've still got the farm here, I'll give them a call."

He went to use the phone, after a few minutes he came and sat next to Pitts

"Dani and Leia were happy to here from me, but Darla's away at the moment, strangely they want to see you as well, they'll be here soon," said Graeves.

Half an hour later they walked into the place.

"Hi there, you must be Dani and Leia, we've been expecting you," said Chaser.
"Chaser, Dani has the red hair, Keia has the mousy blonde hair," said Pitts.
"You got here quick, you didn't have to you could have come here tomorrow."
"No Chaser, they couldn't, they are both vampires," said Anthea.
"Blimey, there's vampires and all sorts coming out of the woodwork, I'll be glad when Scherry gets here tomorrow," exclaimed Chaser.

"That won't help, Scherry isn't a human, don't know what she is but she isn't human."
"I know about her Graeves, but it's best to wait until she's here," said Dawn.

At just past eleven Scherry wandered into the place.

"Who is with you Scherry ?" asked Pitts.
"I'm not sure she said she wants to be here though."
"Who is Scherry ?" asked Curremy.
"I am, you want me to help Westy, did you get Dawn here ?" asked Scherry,
"oh, Anthea can you help me."

"I'll help you, no, wait a minute, we've never met, so how did you know my name ?" asked Anthea.
"Can I tell her please, I'm dying to say this to some-one, it's so great !"
"Go on then Dawn," replied Scherry.
"Anthea, please say hello to Scherry, but the other that is her is the Goddess Medusera."

"I'd prefer it if you'd call me Scherry though. You, your Chaser right, I still like that name."
"What do you mean, still."
"I knew you in another dimension, but there you were Cordelia."
"Is your friend here, sorry, who is she ?" asked Chaser.

"If you ask her you'll be her friend as well," replied Scherry.
"So who are you."
"My name is Faith, I'm here to do the same as Curremy, to help the hunters when they get here," said Faith.
"The hunters ?, who, or how many are here ?" asked Chaser.
"There is only one here now, soon there will be more," said Faith.

Scherry came back with Anthea, Pitts and Graeves. Just as the doors opened.

"Scherry said you'd be here, it s good to see you all again," said Alex.
"That was very nice of you Scherry, I'm so grateful, heck I could kiss you."
"Oh, thank you Pitts, I come here to help, and what do you do, you threaten to kiss me," said Scherry.

Standing next to Alex was a young woman.

"Not much reaction from Mr Pitty is there Dawn."
"Not really Fiona, I'd have thought there would have been, I know he likes redheads," said Dawn.
"I take it you two know each other ?" asked Pitts.
"Fiona is a demon hunter," said Dawn.

"She's a what !", Pitts steps back, " oh sorry."

He looks around him, but no-one is there.

"What is it Pitts ?" asks Fiona.
"It felt as though I bumped into some-one."
"Garet are you staying here ?" asked Graeves.
"Not to sure about that."
"Like I said I'm the owner of this place," said Anthea, "if you guys can help me with this place, it'll be good for both of us."

That evening they all gathered in the main room.

"It'll help me if you'd all like to stay here, but the bills will have to be paid, so has any-one any ideas ?" asked Anthea.
"I will contact the local police to see about getting a licence to run an investigators place," said Garet.
"Alex and I have been looking at they security here, most is good but the road entry area needs some work," said Pitts, "one thing that may help is a van."

"I've done a bit of measuring up here, I'm fairly sure I could run a museum from here with a bookshop and still have rooms left over," said Graeves.
"If there's to be a museum and an investigators place here, why not have a theme for the two places, like Myth Investigators and a Museum of Ancient Mythological Artefacts," said Graeves.

"This is great, I've always liked the idea of having a coffee shop ," said Chaser
"So why not, there's a good sized kitchen, a back entry, we can live upstairs, and if there's any stuff from Darla's place in Tuckenhay, that could be sold here as well. Don't forget the grounds for a picnics and rest area," said Pitts.

Four days later all the projects were becoming a reality, the museum looked very professional, and if there had been even one exhibit it would have been better. Pitts wandered into the rooms.

"I do like that sound, where does it come from ?" asked Pitts.
"There's a shadow caster, it works on the same theory as a childs one, but this one's said to be older than most," replied Graeves.
"Where did you get it ?"
"It was Scherry that got it, from somewhere called Sunnydale on the West Coast near to L A, the persons name was Summer, or Summers one of those two anyway," said Graeves.

THE DEMON HUNTERS

CHAPTER 24 THE VISITORS

"There was a phone call just a few minutes ago, for Scherry. Some girl called Davina and a few like her are coming," said Chaser.
"It says here in the local paper, about a satanic cult near here," said Graeves.
"Some-one told me about a place near here, a long time ago it was known as *3 Balshaven, before that it was known locally as Baals Haven as they people worshipped the demon Baal there," said Alex, "so maybe those vampires are using the area."

"We'll need to get the hunters fit," said Graeves.
"I'll contact Dani and Leia, they've got a forge there, Darla taught them how to make stuff for the wagons, so swords should be easy for them," said Pitts.
"I seem to remember Faith telling me that all hunters have weapons on them at all times," said Spike.
"That is right, now that the time nears they will be in uniform as well," said Scherry.

"They keep their uniform and weapons on them at all times ?" asked Graeves.
"Sort of, when they need to defend themselves they will appear in full uniform," said Scherry.
"I've seen the slayers like that Scherry, I'd always thought of them as gifted humans, but they are not there is something else and the hunters I think will be the same," said Spike.

"They may be from different dimensions, but they are all of the same army, only now the stakes are a lot higher, so no punches will be pulled. What you saw before Spike, is nothing to what you'll see soon," said Scherry.
"Well it may help us in the long run, how about setting up a few rooms for ESP testing ?" asked Sue.
"What is the museum going to be called Graeves ?" asked Alex.

"I'll stick to what was suggested at the meeting we had," said Graeves.
"I can make some flyers for you," said Sue, "I'll put them round Totnes and Dartmouth first though."

After a few days the ESP rooms looked like they had always been there.

"There's a girl wandering around out front, do you know anything about her Graeves ?" asked Dawn.
"Some-ones meant to be here today for some tests, it could be her, can you ask Alex to go and ask her," said Graeves.

Alex duly approached the girl. She only looked about fourteen, but when she faced Alex he got the distinct impression she was older.

"Are you here for a reason ?" asked Alex.
"Sure, I was sent here to do some ESP tests," said Jill.
"We've been expecting you, follow me. I'm Alex by the way."

Jill did well on the testing, so much so that Graeves wanted to explore Jill's past lives. Jill how-ever wasn't to keen on the idea, Scherry was talked into showing that the proceedure was ok.
Graeves slowly began to prepare Scherry for the hypnotism.

"Any-one about !"
"Anne !, how are you, it's been a long time, what's happening ?" asked Dawn.
"Dunno, I felt a strange need to be here, can't explain it," said Anne.
"I can, but you won't believe it, Scherry's here she'll be hypnotised in a minute, but you should stay," said Dawn.

Anne stayed in the museum while Scherry was being prepared.

"Hello, who are you ?" asked Davina.
"Who are you ?" asked Anne.
"I'm Davina, this is Molly, Saffron and Julia."
"Hi, I'm Anne I don't work here, I'll get some-one for you."
"Dawn, there's some girls here, I think they were expecting to see some-one else," said Anne.
"Scherry's about to go under bring them through," said Dawn.

"Scherry, listen to my voice, only hear my voice, go back in time to when you were eighteen years old, tell me where are you, what are you doing ?"
"I'm sitting on a bench, with Anne. We're taking our lunch break."
"Right Scherry, where are you ?"
"Anne and I are in Harpenden."

The room went dark.

"I think a bulb just blew Graeves," said Alex.
"No there was three lights in here, they all just failed."
"Could have been a fuse then."
"Nope, they're on different circuits."
"Wait, it isn't the lights."
"Was that you Curremy ?, what is it ?" asked Graeves.

Above the silence a crackling hissing is heard, several flashes of electricity shot around the room, the room burst into light, as the light faded the body of Scherry was seen floating.
The lights came back on.

"What, Scherry, what's happening ?" asked Graeves.
"That's how she was when I saw her before, but she was the Goddess Medusera then," said Spike.
"That's who I am now."
"They are ready to return now aren't they ?" asked Curremy.
"Yes Goddess Curremy, nine of the demon hunters are here, and one vampire slayer, there will be many more soon," said Goddess Medusera.

"Are there many others ?" asked Goddess Curremy.
"There are three Goddess in this room, Darla join me."

The vampire Darla went and stood next to the Goddess, she knelt to her.

*4 "Rise Darla, your years of of helping vampires become good has just been rewarded, you are now the Goddess Darla, and of those you sired, Dani and Leia they are not vampires now, they are demon hunters."

Dani and Leia stepped forward. their clothes became that of the full battle uniform of Riders of Bouicandeni.

"I will now end your hypnotism of Scherry."
"Um, yeah, Jill, are you ready ?" asked Graeves.
"What is it that you want to know of Jill ?"
"It's just that she was so good at the tests, I need to know more about her," said Graeves.
"Jill is a vampire slayer."

"Ok, that is all that needs to be known, like you...Anne what's going on out there, take a look will you ?" asked Graeves.

The door burst open,

"She's here again, the ghost is here........oh ! crap," exclaimed Dawn.
"Don't you know her Dawn ?" asked Alex.
"No why ?" asked Dawn.
"This is the Goddess Medusera."
"I'd heard of her but I'd never met her," said Dawn.
"I think the phone is ringing, I'll go and answer it," said Pitts.

Pitts went off to the reception, upon answering the phone he heard how a person had given a cheque for a parties meal but the bank had refused payment of the cheque. The owners hadn't had any responce from the person paying for the party. Pitts said that they'd get the monies for them on an arrangement for a bit of discount on orders. Pitts was about to return to the ESP rooms, but those from the rooms had come to see him.

"What was the call about ?" asked Scherry.
"Seems some-one's promise of money hadn't been honoured by their bank, I said we'd help them out, it was the take-away that we've been going to."
"Good idea Pitts, who do you think should handle this one ?" asked Scherry.
"You and me, Molly just in case, Chaser and Dawn," said Pitts.
"When ?" asked Scherry.

"Anytime, we could go now if every-ones ok with it," said Pitts.
"I'll let you know in a few minutes then."

In half an hour the five of them in Chaser's car went to Newton Abbot. Chaser parked up near the restaurant.

"Hey Chaser watch Pitts, he hasn't got used to seeing his reflection yet," said Scherry.

Sure enough Pitts looked at his reflection in a shop window.

"I hope Dawn and and him don't get together, they'd never go anywhere without a mirror," said Chaser.
"Just think if they moved in together, we'd have to buy them a four poster bed with red drapes over the top," said Scherry.
"Why's that ?" asked Chaser.
"If we didn't they'd put mirrors on the ceiling over the bed."

As it was the owners had just seen the person so they got on with following the person. They didn't follow for to long as the person joined the bus queue to Teignmouth. They 'd been waiting for a few minutes gefore the bus arrived, Dawn called Chaser over.

"Best get your car just in case the person gets of the bus before the town of Teignmouth."

Had Chaser waited a minute she'd have heard that the person bought a ticket to the town centre. Pitts waved his arms frantically at Chaser but as she was running back to her car she didn't see him.
In Teignmouth centre a band of very happy girls got off the bus, so did Pitts.
Dawn saw Chaser approach them.

"Quick," said Dawn, "she got off a couple of stops ago."

Chaser was about to run for her car when the person they were following got off the bus. Strangely Chaser didn't share Dawn's giggling.

"Excuse me, what's up with her."
"Oh it's nothing, oh sod it," said Pitts, "we've been following you. Seems that the monies for the restaurant didn't get paid, um what's your name ?" asked Pitts.
"I'll just look at the receipt, yep I've got enough cash to cover that, if it's any more give me a call, oh and my name's Trudi. Here's my name and address."

"Thanks," said Pitts, "here's our business card, hope this is sorted out amicably."
"Oh, your The Myth Investigators, I heard about you guys, do you investigate myths and strange things ?" asked Trudi.
"Yeah, why do you know of one ?" asked Pitts.

"I've got a doosy, I get a rustling in the bushes some-times, at my place and my dog refuses to go outside, I've found it hiding in cupbaords, thing is I found a few sort of footprints a couple of days ago. Now as far as I can tell these appeared a while ago," said Trudi.
"How do you mean," asked Pitts.
*5 "Hoofed prints, a bipeds hoofed prints, hmm, we'll be in touch," said Pitts.

Back at their place Dawn went into the museum,

"What's this stuff, Graeves ?" asked Dawn.
"Some people from Berry Pomeroy Castle brought them over, they reckon it'd be good for them and us."
"You want anything special Dawn ?" asked Graeves.
"Not really, ooh, that shadow caster is starting up, I like tha......

The 'ghost' walked from the wall, straight up to Dawn. The ghost looked into Dawns eyes. Suddenly the 'ghost' knelt to Dawn.

"I'm sorry, I didn't realise it was you. Please, do not stand there, if the portal opens, it will be right there, you are in danger," The 'ghost turns to Graeves, "it is the girl in chains that beckons the demon."

As soon as Graeves removed the figure of the girl in chains the 'ghost' vanished, but five others appeared.

"Who are you ?" asked Mark.
"I'm Spike, these are Kennedy, Anya, Dawn and Xander, where are we ? why are we here ?"
"I don't know why your here, but your near Totnes," said Mark.
"Mark get Scherry, fast, we might need her other," said Dawn.
"You think ?" asked Mark.

Mark rang through to the reception to get Scherry to them. Luckily Scherry was there and she came to see them straight away.
Scherry saw the visitors.

"Hmm, this'll take some explaining," said Scherry.
"They can wait, the ghost was here and she must be connected to the shadow caster," said Mark, "this time though the ghost talked to Dawn."
"And I saw some markings or letters, on her forehead. It was B U F F E."

"She can't be a ghost, I'm not sure what she is, but she isn't a ghost."
"Why not ?" asked Mark.
"She is the General of Bouicandeni's Union Fighting Force the Elite, she is an immortal," said Scherry.
"The ghost, we were as sisters for a while, your Dawn right, 'cos that's my name."

"Mark everyheard of split personality ?" asked Scherry.
"Yes, of course, why ?"
"Well now you've seen it, Spike and Pitts are the same person. Dawn, their Dawn was made a human recently by the Goddess Turee, Anya used to be a demon, Xanders human and Kennedy is a vampire slayer," said Scherry.

"I do know you don't I ?" asked Spike, "your the Goddess Medusera."
"Yes but not at the moment."
"Glad about that, can you get us back to our dimension ?" asked Spike.
"The walls that separated our dimensions have gone, so getting you back will be a lot easier now," said Scherry.
"You want to leave already."

Faith took form.

"Faith ! wow, do these people know who you are, were, are ?" asked Spike.
"Not yet, but I think they will soon."
"If I can be of help I'll stay," said Spike, "how's Angel."
"Who wants to go home, I'll send you back."

Four were despatched to the Toparius Hotel.

"It's Faith right, I'm Mark. When Spike asked if we knew who you were, what did he mean ?"
"I am one of two General's of the Armed Forces of Byzantium, my husband is the other General, he is Angel."
"That's right up there at the top isn't it," said Mark.

"Almost, there is one other, she is of the highest, the one you saw earlier, she is one of the invisible that protects she who will be a Goddess, you'll see us from time to time. Scherry, see you later," said Faith. She vanished.

"What next ?" asked Mark
"Well, Richard is behind you," said Scherry.
"Hello people's, what's new ?"
"I'm going to enjoy this," said Mark, "we've just been told by a Goddess that Pitts and Spike are the same person, Pitts is more human than vampire now."

"Hang on, first of all I knew him as a human, then I'm told he is a vampire, now you tell me he's a sort of human again !?, Pitts, your going to have to stop doing this, people will start to talk about us," said Richard.
"It's a good job I'm a nice person else I'd say something," said Pitts.
"Who said that, just tell me whose been telling you lies, I'll get them," said Chaser.

The name of the village was Balshaven, but known locally as Baals Haven due to the 'devil' worshipping.

Hoofed 'foot' prints.
The hoofed prints were said to have been caused by a two legged animal
( the only ones that could have made those marks that I know of are the Devil and The God Pan, I prefer to go with the God Pan even though the south west of the UK is referred to as 'The Devil's Country' ),

Goddess Darla, Demon Hunters Dani and Leia.
The vampires Darla and Amanda [Graeves's wife] helped about a thousand vampires to be good. Darla was tested by the higher beings, they caused her to sire two humans, Dani and Leia. Darla was distraught with what she had done, but she helped them to be good, she was assisted by Amanda, Graeves and Pitts. Darla's reaction was seen favourably by the higher beings and she was made a Goddess. Dani and Leia were made Demon Hunters.
I'm fairly sure that is fantasy,......but.

CHAPTER 25 HILLHOUSE

"Hope, glad you've found us, come on in and have a rest. I've got quite a few things to tell you," said Scherry, "Westy was killed in a fight with a group of vampires. Graeves is here, there is Anne who is a hunter. Joe and Anne got together a while ago, they moved down this way about ten months ago and now own and run a catering supplies business, lets see, Graeves has a
museum here, it's a front for the see-ers council. One of the vampires is non demonic, and a bit of a were-tigress that's when we found out that the spirit of the demon that all hunters have is werewolf."

"Westy is dead, I would have liked to be at his funeral," said Hope.
"There wasn't a funeral, he was sired by Pitts. So Westy is a vampire now, hence no funeral, but you'll meet him soon. I'm sorry about not telling you of Westy, but I'd have had probems on the phone," said Dawn, "and about Pitts, his other is here."
"His other ?" asked Hope.

"Pitts and Spike are the same person, Spike is from what was another dimension," said Dawn.
"I was told that you couldn't meet yourself from another dimension," said Hope
"Same here, but, well, no problems, he even shook hands with himself."
"This seems like a good time," said Graeves, "would you like to come to the museum and the hunters training area, it'll be quieter there."

At the museum.

"There isn't much here is there ?, is it a work in progress thing ?" asked Hope.
"That's right, all ideas are welcome right now. I've got an amulet here, there's also a sword and a cross-bow from one of the Riders of Bouicandeni, Scherry borrowed it from a general Kra-noy," said Graeves.
"Who's this general Kra-noy ?" asked Hope.

"I don't know anything else about him, you'll need to ask Scherry that. Further back there is the training area and the see-ers council room."
"So who are the see-ers Graeves ?" asked Hope.
"Just Dawn and me at the moment," said Graeves, "about you being here, Scherry said others are coming here, I'm guessing this is all leading somewhere."
"Have a rest here, when your ready I'll take you to your room."

When they wandered back to the reception area, the phone started to ring, Pitts answered it.

"Sounds like we may have a case," said Pitts, "I'll need to find Scherry."

Garet with Pitts and Scherry went to speak with an inspector at the Totnes police station, a Dave Jackson.

"Come in guys, now before you start I've already told Dave that I am a vampire," said Pitts.
"Is she like you ?" asked Dave Jackson.
"Heck no, Scherry is, well, I'll let her tell you. Scherry tell him what he wants to know about you, that's how he can help us best."
"Ok," replied Scherry.

"If your sure, no-one knows all about what's happening yet, so bearing that in mind, I have a direct link to the ones that guide us, I am what may be referred to as an immortal, we are here to continue to fight," said Scherry.
"When you say continue, has it begun ?" asked Dave.
"Some of our people, the vampire slayers, they were the last in this fight. That which was vital then, is here, it is the amulet."

"The amulet ? it was worn by Spike, he was chosen to be it's wearer ?, oh, am I a part of him or is he a part of me ?" asked Pitts.
"If either of you were to say your a chip of the old block you'd both be right."
"As I understood it the amulet destroyed evil before so will it do the same this time ?" asked Garet.

"So if that thing destroyed the evil, from what I was taught at school, that would indicate that he will return, is that right ?" asked Dave.
"If he wants to he will," said Scherry.

"We'll need to talk about this some more, but right now the case. Time is of the essence here, a six year old boy has gone missing near Salcombe, he was with his family on a two week holiday. The camping grounds were next to the estuary. It was the first day, that gave us the first problem as all his clothes were new or just washed. the other problem is the main info area is where the lad went missing from, so no footprints. Then I remembered Garet said you have a tracker."

"That's not quite true, we have many trackers," said Scherry, "with many qualities, I'll call in Illyria as well for this one, she possess the ability to track underwater."
"She can track underwater, that's, well I've never heard of that before."
"We could get there tomorrow morning if you want," said Garet.

"We will find the child, hopefully safe, that being so we could do both of us a favour as you'll get more of these cases Dave, and you can call us in without explanations to your bosses," said Scherry.
"If you can get all or any search info for us for about ten tomorrow, we'll take it from there," said Garet.

On the way back Scherry suggested that Sally be brought in.

"If we have two teams, a day team of me, Faith, Spike, Illyria, Sally, Dawn and I'll call in Dana as well. A night team of Garet, Sue, Westy, Dani, Leia, Hope and Pitts that'll cover all bases," said Scherry.

As soon as they got back they all started making preparations.
It was nine thirty the next morning when the vans from Myth Investigators entered the camp site, the night shift had been given accomodation at a local farm. An old family tent was erected between the back of the two vans. Dave arrived and gave them all a briefing.

"Sally, Spike, Faith can you look around here for the tracks ?" asked Scherry.

They searched for almost two hours before Sally called them to her. Sally pointed out the marks they were following and they set off, Scherry stayed in the tent with the radio's Dana had the radio for the team. Slowly they moved keeping sight of the foot marks, all nearby undergrowth was searched, they seemed to be nearing the shore-line. Scherry was called up to find out

if any boats had gone missing or if any had been found. As it was one had been found the previous day on the other side of the river, a small motor boat was sent to where they were. When the boat got to them Sally suggested that Spike went with her to check the other shore-line first. After a quick trip in the boat they got to where they other boat had been found.

Sally searched that area while Spike looked at the stones on the shore-line. After ten minutes neither Sally nor Spike had found evidence of a child being there.

"I hate to say this, being near water an' all, but this trip may have been a 'red herring'," said Sally.
"I know what you mean, I woulgn't have liked to say that either," agreed Spike.

When they got back to the rest of them Faith said that there seemed to be a dogs paw-prints near where the boy had been. A cast area was made, Andy, the guy who brought the boat was asked to get some-one to make a caste of it and tell them what sort of dog it was. The group settled down for a fifteen minute break. Sally said to Dawn.

"Have you noticed that Pitts is behaving like a human these days."
"Yes," replied Dawn, "that Spike is having a calming influence on him. Tell me about you though, have you had any problems recently."
"I had one a few days ago, Pitts got me to change, now that wasn't that bit, it was when I returned to being as a human again," said Sally.

"All my clothes had been torn and ripped apart, then Pitts surprised us all. He took off his jacket and shirt and gave them to me to cover up the parts that were causing me to be embarrassed, he also paid for some new clothes and got one of the girls to get me some more clothes and he paid for her to get a taxi," said Sally.

"So can you be a tigress at will ?" asked Dawn.
"Yes," replied Sally.

Back at the tent, Dave had gone there to talk to Scherry, but he found her chatting to another.

"We haven't met have we ?" asked Dave.
"No, this is Zandor," said Scherry, "Zandor, Dave is a friend of ours he's in the police at Totnes, because of his belief in the supernatural he gets called a few choice names."
"Hello, pleased to meet you, er, Zandor," said Dave.

"When he finds out who you are, he won't wash that hand for says," said Scherry.
"Meaning what ?, are you famous Zandor ?" asked Dave.
"Not really, but my boss is, whether he's accepted or not, he or she is God."

Dave left the tent, he had only taken two steps before he remembered why he had gone there in the first place.

"Sorry to trouble you two ag..., where is he ? Scherry ?"
"Your thoughts on the supernatural are wrong Dave, your following the right path, but you've a heck of a lot more to learn yet," said Scherry.
"I was going to let you know how the other search parties are progressing, also are you really going to have a team out there tonight ?" asked Dave.

"Thought this might happen, time for you to know a bit more about the night team, to expand your knowledge of the supernatural. Garet is a human, Dani, Leia and Hope are demon hunters, though none of them are immortal yet, but Hope is several hundred years old, recently Westy died but he was brought back to life by Pitts, now they are both vampires.

Sue is not a human, she is an immortal and very, very old, she was one of the last to be on her home world of Mercury."
"Like you said, time to learn," said Dave.
"Keep thinking like that, Sally is a vampire come were-tigress, I'm not sure about Dawn yet, Dana is a vampire slayer.

Faith is an immortal, Zandor see's her as senior in the army, Spike was a vampire but he is human and Illyria is a Goddess, as am I. If a person wants to be good then that person will be accepted. I'll expain what I mean, Spike was once known as one of the worst vampires ever, Illyria was once a hell-God and a friend of hers was Faith," said Scherry.

"Yes, time to grow," said Dave.
"Think of it like this, on the day team there are five trackers and on the night team there are six trackers and they are not limited by the dark, if anything they are better trackers at night as they'll be able to see the footprints."

"I think the night team are on their way out soon, any news of that dog ?" asked Scherry.
"Yes, it's a labrador, some people reported one missing, thing is they live in Southampton and they had travelled to Truro where the dog escaped from them, so it could be the same dog if so its good, as it likes kids."
"I'll tell the teams then," said Scherry.

Sue had the radio for the night team while Garet stayed in the tent. Most of the night was incident lacking, the footprints had changed in as much that the boy appeared to be limping. Garet was fairly pleased with himself as he had read five books, but mainly because he had stayed awake all night.

"You there Garet."

Garet pushed the button on the two way radio, replying that he was.

"Have there been any boats coming to us, and how did they know where we are, it's just that Spike is here," said Sue.
"Hang on, I'll just check, give me a minute or two," replied Garet.
"You there sue."
"I'm here."

"There's no boats been out there, but look at the bright side at least the day team will know where to go. They should be leaving here soon so stay at the rivers edge so they can find you," said Garet.

"You still there Garet ?" asked Sue.
"Still here," replied Garet.
"There's a bit of a.......Hope's just seen a dog, hang on, I'm running to them what the...a Swallow, a Swallow nearly hit me. They're waving me over, oh, the boys been found, the dog is with him.

The lads got a few cuts on his left leg, can you get a decent sized boat up here, some meat for the dog and lots of water for them," said Sue.
"I'll get back to you, Sue. I'll report in."

"Search Command, this is Myth Investigators."

"Search Command Receiving."

"The boy has just been found, can you send a launch up river, they'll wait at the rivers edge, the lads got a few cuts to his left leg so some first aid will be needed, lots of water and there's a dog been looking after the boy so some nice bits of meat as well," Myth Investigators out.

"Sue, its Garet, helps on its way to you. I'll see you soon."

At ten thirty two vans pulled up at Hillhouse, fourteen people went into the front room and plonked themselves in the first chair they could find.

"Shop !!, shop !," called out Dani.

The door to the kitchen was opened by Graeves. Anne, Joe and Alex brought out several plates of sandwiches and mugs of tea and coffee.

"What do you want Dani ?" asked Graeves.
"Why's the tv's remote control way over there ?, it should be next to my chair, I dunno, tch."

CHAPTER 26 ALL THE VAMPIRE IMPLODED

Scherry left the coffee shop and walked to the museum where she met Graeves and Hope.

"Oh good, your here. I want you to help me decide who of these applicants to get to work here, these are their apllication forms," said Graeves.
"May seems to be relaxed here, Glenda is ok, I seem to remember her being a see-er, but I don't think much of the others," said Hope.
"I agree that May would be best for the job, she's got the look," said Scherry.

Graeves asked May and Glenda to stay then apologised to the others. He asked May to stay in the shop with Hope and Scherry. Glenda was left to look around the room for a while.

"It says here that you've had experience in this set-up before but not where, care to tell us ?" asked Hope.
"Not to sure, I remember it was the Museum of Ancient Religious Artefacts and that there was a magic shop and a bookshop, but I just can't remember where," said May.
"What was that look for Scherry ?" asked Hope.

"If I'm right, May is a human, but the place she worked in was in another dimension, unless there's two of her," said Scherry.
"Well that can't happen, can it ?" asked Hope.
"Yes, Pitts and Spike are the same person, but Spike and May, I think they once worked together."

"Er Scherry, did you let those two in ?" asked Hope.
"No."
"I know them, they were at the last place," said May.
"Can you remember their names ?" asked Hope.
"I'm fairly sure that they are Sandy and her mum Susan," said May, "it's coming back to me now, Sandy is a vampire slayer and her mum is a watcher."

"Can you remember what they were there for ?" asked Graeves.
"The owner of the place, Mr Giles, he told me that they were looking for dream meanings, it was Turee that dealt with them," said May.
"What is Turee ?" asked Scherry.
"She is the Goddess Turee," said May.
"And I am the Goddess Medusera."

"So, what is happening ?" asked May.
"Where that place was used to be in another dimension, a battle against the evil was won, then that place came to be part of this dimension, this is where the last battles against the evil will be fought," said Scherry.
"So the dimension that I came from, did it have any interaction with the previous dimension ?" asked May.

"A bit, the leader of the vampire slayers told me of a vampire that was Willow who came from that one."
"Well, just a thought, but could that Sandy or Susan be a messenger ?" asked Graeves.
"One way to find out," said Scherry.
"Susan, Sandy, I'm a bit of a psychic," said Scherry, "so bear with me, you are here to find out about dream meanings."

"That's right, I see people in my dreams," said Sandy.
"In these dreams, are there others ?" asked Scherry.
"Yes, there's the vampire slayers and demon hunters and a Som-rotan."

Scherry turned to speak to Graeves.

"So now you know who to research," said Scherry.
"We'd better continue this in the back rooms."

Scherry chatted with Sandy while they walked into the main room.

"Is there any reason why you wanted me to get the others here ?" asked Graeves.
"Every-one, this is Sandy and her mother. Sandy is a vampire slayer and Susan is a watcher. Those people in your dreams Sandy, are they Hope, Pitts, Garet, Curremy, Westy or Zandor. Oh, I don't know you do I ?" asked Scherry.

"No, but I know who you are, your Scherry," said Fred.
"We'll have a chat soon, but first I need to deal with these people."

Faith walked into the room.

"Hi Fred, long time no see," said Faith.
"Graeves, about May, she may be the amulets protector," said Scherry.
"Really, who did that ?"
"It may have been arranged by God."
"If the amulet is that important, I'm glad there is a protector for it."

Scherry went to see the newcomers.

"So who told you about this place ?" asked Scherry.
"Who are they, are they staying, oh...," said Graeves.
"Yes Graeves, he is a vampire."
"It was Illyria and Spike that told us about what you have here," said Wesley.

"She's a physicist first, a killer of demons second and a researcher third."
"Fred is an all round nice person, all the time as well," said Wesley.
"You should fit in well then, we're all nice people here as well," said Graeves.
"What do you want Chaser ?" asked Scherry.
"A couple of the girls brought back a vampire, he's very talkative, you ought to come and see for yourselves," said Chaser.

"We were coming back here then we saw him trying to hide in the bushes, we stopped went and had a chat then helped him back here," explained Anne.
"Seems that he knows about vampire witches near here," said Anthea.
"When I was leaving that place a sign over the door said, 'you are now leaving Baals Haven Manor," said Stewart.

"They're vampires, your a vampire, why drop them in it ?" asked Chaser.
"You lot are meant to kill me, yet I was offered more friendship by Anne in ten minutes than they did all last night," said Stewart.
"Scherry, Graeves what do you guys think ?" asked Hope.
"Call the girls in, we leave at sunset," said Scherry.

Thirty minutes later the coffee shop was a hive of activity, ten hunters, three slayers, five vampires then the humans, immortals and higher beings.

"To all the hunters and slayers, when we leave here you will all be in uniform, so any comments about your fashion accessories will be ignored, we'll need a lot of pots and metal serving spoons to make lots of noise with," said Faith.
"These are vampire witches, they worship near here, they may well be trying to raise a demon, using witchcraft," said Graeves.

"Do we know where they are coming from ?" asked Spike.
"News from the Riders points to Stoke Gabriel, Dittisham and a farm near Torbryan, why ?" asked Faith.
"If we knew when they were on the way that would help," said Spike.
"For that we'd need to see when they left and get there before them, we haven't got any fast cars," said Faith.

"Let the vampires here help, we don't need cars do we," said Spike.
"You've lost me," said Faith.
"All vampires can fly."
"I didn't know that, since when ?, never seen that before ?, it was only Dracula that could fly and that was in the movies," said May.

"Either that or the person that wrote it, witnessed it happening," said Spike.
"Now there's at thought," said May.
"One or two of us to each place, as soon as one lot leaves, we've got a time schedule for the other places," said Wesley.
"How often do vampires fly ?" asked Faith.

"Its usually left to a last resort, think about it, when a bird fly's, the wings tend to be flapped a lot, when back as a vamp or person the arms ache like bloody crazy," said Spike.
"That's good to know, that could help us," said Scherry.
"When we're there use the though talk to keep in touch with us, but we can
not reply when we're as birds."

"Meaning ?" asked Scherry.
"There was a case many years ago in Sunnydale of a witch that turned herself into a rat to escape being burnt, she didn't think it through properly.
Birds, rats, not really renowned for their talking are they," said Spike.

Twenty minutes later they'd all taken up their positions, Scherry kept in touch with the vampires. Word came back of twelve vampires headed their way.

The vampire witches had gone into the front room, a minute after the lights dimmed three bricks were thrown through the frontroom windows. As the vampires came from the house all the hunters and slayers clothes changed to that of the battle dress. The humans stood and beat the pans to make as much noise as possible.

As one, the vampire witches became bats to try and escape, but those in battle dress fired bird nets over them. Once on the ground, wire was put around the necks of the bats. As they returned to being vampires, they took their heads of and turned to dust. One of them ran into the front room and made Baal appear in the room just as three hunters were about to attack.

"I was enjoying myself idiot !, you will not disturb me again !," shouted Baal.

Back at Hillhouse the battle dress was the talk.

"Can we go to battle again !," said Sandy, "leather and silk uniforms !, woo-hoo, bet it wasn't a bloke that designed the uniforms."
"There is another pressing point, not many came from Torbryan area and four or five didn't come from the boat builders yard in Stoke Gabriel," said Scherry.

"So get a few girls and some of us humans, we humans go in one end with crosses and holy water. We scare them outside where they are despatched," remarked Fred.
"Sounds like a plan to me," said Spike.

Scherry made them all appear near the boat builders in Stoke Gabriel. The humans walked into the boat shed waving the crosses about throwing holy water on the vampires. Then they realised that the vampires weren't being affected by what they were doing.

"Quick !, help us !" shouted Fred.

The hunters came running into the shed as the vampires left through the back wall. Scherry made them all re-appear at Hillhouse.

"Why didn't you do as planned," said Anne.
"But we did, the holy water, the crosses, they didn't have any effect."
"That's a new one Garet, no effect at all ?" asked Scherry.
"Nothing !, not a sausage then !, bugger all ?" asked Spike.

"Nothing, either the crosses and water hadn't been blessed by an 'official' of the church or that the vampires are making a distributing them, either way we need another plan," said Tom.
"Back in a couple of minutes," said Scherry.

There were still puzzled looks when Scherry came back into the room.

"Where did you go to ?" asked Graeves.
"If the crosses and the holy water don't work we need another supplier, so I went back in time with my little camera, I took all the pictures I could, and then these scrapings of wood with some blood on. Just get the film developed and as many enlargements as you can afford," said Scherry.

"Yeah ok, but who are the pictures of ?" asked Garet.
"The scraping are from the cross that Jesus was on and that's his blood, the photo's are of him on the cross. That caused a few problems though."
"How do you mean Scherry ?" asked Garet.

"Now you realise that I was the Goddess Medusera when I got there, well it seems that the Roman Sentries weren't expecting me, 'cos they ran away screaming. The two others that were being crucified managed to keep themselves from having panic attacks, but when I started taking photos the flash of the camera really did it for them," said Scherry.

"On the way back I stopped and invited another person here, it was Fred's idea," said Scherry, "to those of us who don't know about this person, her body was host to another, the Goddess Turee. Willow come on in."

"You did that for us ?, thank you," said Garet.
"Put a bit of a scraping on each cross, so a cross and a photo is liable to have some very extreme results."

Two days later Scherry took the humans and the hunters went to the boat shed, the humans went to the doors of the boat shed and stood there. the vampires looked at them and laughed, then Fred and Garet held up the photographs of Jesus on the cross. All the vampires imploded, there wasn't even a trace of dust from any of them.

THE DEMON HUNTERS

CHAPTER 27 THE TINTAGEL HOME

Graeves and Westy had been talking with Scherry about starting a new base.

"Some more space, good, there's more folk from L. A. coming here."

Graeves said about the place he had near Tintagel, he had been renting out, but the previous tenants had moved on and it was now empty. He said that they could have a third base and cover the whole South West from there.

"What do you mean a third base ?, where is the second base ?" asked Westy.
"Tuckenhay, Dani and Leia's place," replied Graeves.

The next day several of them were set to leave, they were Willow, Tom, Molly, Saffron, Westy and Curremy. Molly was asked to go as she had been born in Camelford. A travelling home was bought for them, it was thought to be safe for Westy. They were due to leave at five thirty in the evening.

As they rounded a corner leaving Totnes, they were literally driving into the sunset. They all looked forward to the new place, except for Westy, he was trying to convince Curremy that him kissing her was a good thing.
It took just over an hour to travel the sixty five miles. After a brief look around the farm Westy and Curremy went for a drive to Camelford.

Just as they got there, they noticed several people near a house, being curious they stopped for a while. Then the lights in the house were dimmed, Westy said that he would have a closer look. As he entered the driveway he had to hide behind a tree as another car entered the drive. The driver got out then walked towards the door.

"Excuse me, I'm a bit lost," said Westy, "can you give me some directions."
"Hi, erm, I'm sorry, I wasn't aware of any-one behind me. My name is Alan, what's your name, where are you trying to get to."

Westy was about to answer when the door was opened by a very attactive young woman, thin yet volumptuous. She had long blonde hair courtesy of a packet if the dark roots were to be believed.

"Bles...Oh Alan, who is with you ?" asked Sukie.
"Sukie, hi. This is Westy, he's a bit lost, wants some directions."
"Not a problem," said Sukie.
"Thanks, I'm trying to find a young couple that are renting a farm near here, they sell goats milk," said Westy.
"Oh, I now them, come in I'll draw you a map," said Sukie.

Curremy had seen Westy go into the house and was a bit concerned, so she called for Scherry to help her. Westy had only been in the house for a minute when Curremy and Scherry knocked on the door.
Sukie opened the door, chatted to them then came into the front room.

"These people are friends with Westy, they're here to see if he's ok."
"Thanks, these people are ok," said Westy, "they are all witches."
"What makes you think we are witches ?" asked Sukie, looking at her friends.
"Westy says that you are, I can feel that he is right," said Scherry.
"Er Westy, you still trying to find those people ?" asked Sukie.

"They never were, they were curious about your behaviour, that's all. We are ok with what you are doing and what you are," said Curremy.
"Why should we see you as friends though ?" asked Sukie.
"We want to be friends with you, regardless of your abilities, we do have a lot in common," said Scherry.
"I'm known as Philly, you didn't include Westy, why not ?"

"He is cursed, he see's Pitts as his dad," said Curremy.

Westy and Scherry tried very hard not to laugh.

"You want to be friends, so offer us your friendship, tell us something about yourselves." said Philly.
"Alan, Sukie, did you fell uneasy when talking to Westy ?" asked Scherry.
'Scherry', thought Curremy, 'I can sense other vampire coming this way, they are going to attack these people.'
'I agree with you Curremy, we may have to reveal ourselves though.'

"Listen, Curremy and I feel some vampires coming here, would you prefer protection, or would you prefer to be somewhere else ?" asked Scherry.
"Some protection would be best," said Philly.
"Will you all move to this side of the room, that'll give some space for the hunters," said Scherry.

"Hunters ?, what hunters ?" asked Sukie.

Four demon hunters appeared, Anne, Hope, Molly and Saffron. Two others appeared with them. Anne looked at them.

"Who are you two ?"
"I'm Kennedy, this is Dana, where are we, who are you ?"
"Your both vampire slayers !, that's ok, these girls are demon hunters, I called them here to protect these people from vampires."

Curremy stood in front of Westy.

"He is with us, he is a friend," said Curremy.
"Sukie, come with us please, girls outside please. You weren't doing anything that'll cause problems, were you ?" asked Scherry.
"Dana and I were looking after the museum for Giles, he should be told that we are not there," said Kennedy.

Faith appeared.

"Faith, wow," exclaimed Kennedy.
"I'll go and tell Giles," said Faith.

Faith vanished.

"The vampires are closer, would you girls convince the vampires not be here."
"That was polite," said Anne.
"It was wasn't it," agreed Hope.

Outside Sukie saw.

"They are vampires !?
"Dana, will you guard Scherry and Sukie. Saffron, Molly, Kennedy will you go behind the vampires."

Hope and Anne went and stood between the vampires and the house.
There was only four vampires.
"Get out of our way, we want the witches," said the first vampire.
"Well, she's a witch !, that wasn't too nice of me, was it Anne ?" asked Hope
"You did smile a bit," remarked Anne.

"I should have been a bit grumpier then ?" asked Hope.
"Just a bit," said Anne.
"Should I say it again ?" asked Hope.
"It may be a bit late now," replied Anne.

Hope and Anne kicked two of the vampires in their chests, as they stumbled backwards Hope slammed a piece of wood into another vampires chest, he left in a cloud of dust. The two vampires stumbled back past Kennedy, they had positioned themselves for a tri-angular attack. The vampires seeing Kennedy turned to flee.

Saffron and Molly screamed BOO !. The vampires turned again, just in time to see Kennedy thrust a wooden stake into each of them, she continued forwards and received a double high five from Saffron and Molly. Suddenly alone, the vampire realised where his future lay, he faced Anne then stepped back, puzzled.

Anne stood as a tea pot, a wooden stake in the palm of her hand. She flinched, the stake rose up four inches, Hope span to her left, grabbed the stake and slammed in through the vampires chest. Hope and Anne portrayed a scene from Swan Lake as they went to Scherry.
Sukie applauded all of them.

"Next time you should do some ballet."

Anne looked to Scherry to get some verbal assistance but Scherry was trying hard not to laugh.

"Sukie, did you learn anything ?" asked Scherry.
"They were vampires ?"
"You got that right."
"Who is it that chooses the hunters and slayers ?" asked Sukie.
"The Goddess Medusera," said Scherry.

"A Goddess," exclaimed Sukie, I do believe in them, I worship a Goddess but I've never met one."
"Who do you worship ?, I know of Hera, Proserphone, Turee, T'ara, Darla, Curremy and myself."

The front garden suddenley grew very bright.

"HO...LY CRAP," !! exclaimed Sukie.

Sukie noticed that all the girls were kneeling, she did the same.

"You all make me feel proud and as Scherry says, chuffed. She says that you'll love it when she reminds you of this later, although I think she may be less than honest saying that."

Scherry reappeared

"You don't have to kneel to me but.....

The girls stood up quickly.

"So Sukie, ready to tell your friends what you've just seen," said Scherry.

They all went back into the front room.

"Friends, I've got a few things to tell you, about what I've just seen," said Sukie.
"Well first up what was that glowing ?" asked Alan.
"That was Scherry, she became the Goddess Medusera. Before that I saw vampires, these girls they were, well, they even joked about in front of them, then they showed off their clog dancing skills to me."

"That was ballet !" said Anne and Hope.

No sooner had they said that, then they realised they had just been got, it may have been the way that Saffron and Scherry burst out laughing, or the way that Molly grinned at them.

"Scherry said that these girls are demon hunters and vampire slayers, she also said that Curremy is a Goddess," said Sukie.
"When that glowing started I went to go outside through the open doorway,
but it seems that the barrier was there, as Curremy said, 'it was for our protection.' So what you've just said, we all believe you," said Philly.

"One thing that you can help me with, I am unsure about the customs on this planet, Westy said that he wants me to be his special friend, then he pressed his lips against mine, was that normal ?" asked Curremy.
"Considering all us lovely girls being here, Westy wants you to be his 'special friend', that is good and the pressing of lips is known as kissing, it's a good thing," said Hope.

"I'd better say that I am sorry to him then," said Curremy.
"Why do you need to apologise to him ?" asked Scherry.
"Oh, it's when he, kissed ?, when he pressed his lips against mine, I hit him."

Scherry smiled at Curremy.

"Come here Curremy, see thst picture ? well, when Westy comes into the room kiss him on the cheek, like in that picture, go and stand next to him and gently hold his hand," said Scherry.

As Westy came into the room Curremy did as Scherry had said, Westy seemed to grow another two inches then they both glowed, literally glowed.

"I've never seen it, but I think we just saw two people fall in love," said Sukie
"OOOOOOH," exclaimed Hope.
"What are you oooohing about Hope ?" asked Scherry.
"OH.......oooooh ! that'll be fun.........for some-one else," said Anne.
"Who's going to tell Curremy about the birds and the bees ?" asked Hope.

"That's it you lot, time to go home, but Dana and Kennedy, I'd like it if you would stay with us," said Scherry.
"I'll stay but I'd need to go back and tell Dawn."

CHAPTER 28 A DOPPELGANGER'S DOPPELGANGER.

"You've found a prophecy ?" asked Dawn.
"Yes, I'm just going to get Graeves to help decipher it," said Mark.
"What language is it written in ?" asked Dawn.
"English I hope." said Mark,"look it's in the office on my desk, take a look then let Graeves and I know about it, when we get there."

When he and Graeves walked into the room Dawn stood up.

"It's written in some form of code, each number represents a letter so by writing the numbers one to nought then giving each letter a value as in one equals A, up to nought equals J, then K is one, T being nought and again U is one, and Z is six. "Scherry'll know some-one who's good at this, I'll get her," said Dawn.

"Know how come I didn't think of that excuse," said Graeves.
"Ay ?"
"Hold your leg out, I'll give it a pull," said Graeves.

"Ay, oh !, that was clever, look, I nearly laughed," said Mark, "look at the last line, I can see two of the words. By putting the first two letters at the back of the word in reverse order I get ' prophecy for Pitts ', oh hang on that's
' of ' not ' for ', but that's odd," said Mark.
"Scherry is going to get Giles here, and I just got Diana to help," said Dawn.

"What have you got so far ?" asked Dawn.
"The last line could be about a prophecy of Pitts, the rest of it I'm doing how Mark just suggested," said Graeves.
"Ah Scherry, and you are Giles," said Mark, "this may be the way to do it."

He showed them what had been done.

"If that is it, then the second line would be, ' they are hunters '," said Giles.
"The third line is Scherry to Medusera, Curremy, Darla and Sue," said Scherry.
"So what is the first line about ?" asked Diana.
"It's about Dani and Leia," said Graeves, "that means lines 1, 2 and three are done."
"So we do the fourth line next," said Dawn.

"Here we go, it's, ' after Baal the body is back then gone, ' which I don't understand," said Giles.
"We fought some vampire witches who tried to bring back Baal," said Dawn.
"As I understood it, they did bring him into this world," said Diana.
"That's right, he killed the vampire for disturbing him," said Mark.

"So as Baal was here, the after Baal fits. The rest would be about him being here, then being gone," said Giles.
"Ok, but the next two lines are a mystery to me," said Dawn, "it is, 'when the *6 Blue Lady asks for help ' and ' the keeper of the light is revealed, ' who is the Blue Lady and what light ?"
"Is that a reference to Illyria ?" asked Diana.

"If it is, you must have a different Illyria to the one I remember," said Giles.
"Alright, they are, well strange, but what's the rest of it ?" asked Mark.
"Relatively easy really, ' lines seven ' and ' words twenty eight '," said Diana, "now the next three lines maybe of interest, ' the waiting is over ' then ' the end has started ' and ' the countdown has begun '."

*7 "Well if The Blue Lady hasn't asked for help yet and we don't know who the keeper of the light is, then it follows that the countdown won't have started," said Giles.
"Anything else on that page ?" asked Dawn.
"There was an arrow head," said Mark.
"So, do the back inside cover," said Dawn.

"Nothing here, umm, is there a magnifying glass here ?" asked Giles.
"Why."
"The arrow heads are very detailed, either that or there is writing on them. Here we go, ' two three six D,' and ' twenty eight, two, six ' ," said Giles.

"Hello Pitts, what's the puzzled looks for ?" asked Graeves.
"I don't remember coming here, I was reading a book, there is quite a bit
*8 about one of the ghosts at Berry Pomeroy Castle."
"Some light hearted entertainment, sounds like a good idea, who is the ghost ?" asked Graeves.

"She is known as The Blue Lady. Why did you all just look at me ?"
"We've just been doing a prophecy, it stated about the countdown to the end, and when the Blue Lady asks for help," said Dawn.
"This ghost hunting may be even better then," suggested Mark, "I'll stay in and look through the book, have Dawn and Diana watch the place."

"I'll get Dani and Spike to come over here," said Scherry.
"I saw Chaser, Sally and Anthea on reception when I went to find Graeves," said Mark.

Half an hour went by before Scherry, Spike, Graeves, Sally, Dani, Chaser and Anthea went ghost hunting. During the trip Scherry rang Hillhouse.

"Everything ok Diana ?"
"Sort of, I just hope we don't get any visitors, there's a glowing in the reception area."

As the group made their way through the narrow lanes Chaser said that she would park up near the workers shed, there's enough room to turn around there, plus it's out of the way.
When they got there, Graeves asked where they should try first, Pitts said that the book said the main garden was a usual haunt.

"The garden it is then," said Anthea.

Once in the garden they stopped and looked around.

"Do you like surprises Pitts ?" asked Chaser.
"Why."
"Just a thought, why not turn around."
"What is over there ?" asked Pitts

Seemingly walking, towards then was a ghost, she went up to Graeves.

"Vampire, your not meant to be here. You, there is vampire in both of you, but you are not the same as that one. You two have demon in you, but you are not demons ?, you two are human. You, there is another..OH !, I'm sorry."

The Blue Lady kneels.

"Please, please forgive me."
"These with me are my friends," said Scherry.
"Then I will protect them," said The Blue Lady, "but you should leave, there are other vampires near here, they keep trying to get to the house."
"We can help with that, but can you be a bit less obvious ?" asked Chaser.

"Oh, the glowing, I only do it for effect," replied The Blue Lady.

They followed her up to the balcony, then to an area where most of the garden could be seen. They moved some tables and chairs then made themselves comfy.

"It'll be nice to have a chat, most people see me then run away or they take a photo, then run away."
"That's three times you've looked there, any reason ?" asked Chaser.

"Last night I saw another there, I was on the path when she appeared right in front of me, I know I'm called the Blue Lady because of what I wear but she had blue hair, on her forehead and her neck. But when she moved, it was so fast, then she scared the vampires from here."

"That sounds like Illyria," said Spike.
"You know her ?, I want to thank her, who is she ?"
"Illyria, very powerful and very helpful, the Goddess Illyria," said Spike.
"Another Goddess ?"
"Illyria was from a hell."

"I was helped by a hell-god ?" asked The Blue Lady.
"So what do you do all day, read the newspapers ?" asked Anthea.
"I can't, as in I can't read or write."
"If you could, what sort of books would you like to read ?" asked Pitts.
"Gardening and rebuilding things," said The Blue Lady.

"Mind if we call you Blue ?, so why those subjects ?" asked Pitts.
"I spend most of my time in the garden and I'd like to help repair the buildings here," said Blue.
"If you want to, come to our place, we'll teach you how to read and write, you don't have a problem with vampires do you ?" asked Pitts.

"Oh no, just the ones that try to get in here."
"Are they the ones you mean Blue ?" asked Scherry.
"Yes that's them, clever things aren't they, must have known we were talking about them," said Blue.

"Ok, we'll attract them here, you hunters and you Spike, you go around the back of them, them we'll scare them to you and join in," said Chaser.

The vampires were attracted to their position, when they had got behind them Scherry became the Goddess Medusera. Blue went down to them but before they had turned to run. They trapped her, suddenly her survival instinct tokk control.

"Pitts, help me !"

Pitts jumped to her aid, pushing the vampires away from her. Spike, Anthea and Dani took little time with them. They looked on as Pitts held Blue and reasured her that she was safe.

"I'll go back to Hillhouse, if you'd all follow, hunters, your with me," said The Goddess Medusera.

Back at Hillhouse Dawn was talking with the Goddess Curremy.

"Am I glad your back, I was telling Goddess Curremy about what's happened here, some girl came here she said that she thought she was meant to meet some-one here, Diana took her into the kitchen for a coffee then the ghost came right up to me again. She said thank you to me, then she said that she could be with herself again and that they would be able to be with the other her," said Dawn.

"Some-one else is here," said Anthea.
"Richard, what brings you here ?" asked Dawn.
"I said I was coming here to get a specific book, the person thats been helping me wanted to come, he's just behind me."
"Is that glowing still here Dawn ?" asked Goddess Medusera.

"It's in that room."

The Goddess Medusera went to see the glowing, when she returned the others had just got back from Berry Pomeroy Castle.

"No-one else has said this, but if she is in the prophecy, The Blue Lady, didn't she just ask for help," said Graeves.
"That glowing Dawn, it is now heralding the arrival of two Goddesses."

The entrance area became a bright Blue as the Goddesses Turee and T 'ara appeared. The Goddess T 'ara looked at the 'ghost'.

"We know what you are, we know who you are, you need to be with her, together you will be as one."

Dawn was suddenly aware of the girl being next to her. The 'ghost' moved to her, their clothes changing to be the same, the 'ghost' went into the girls body, they were as one then the clothes changed again to be that of the battle dress of the Armed Forces of Bouicandeni. Then she vanished.

"Richard, your friend just disappeared as well, who was that !?" asked Dawn.

But the two Goddesses had gone.

"Just a thought," said Dani, "that person is alive, even his sub-conscious wanted to help she who was the ghost, that being so he was Mr Rupert Giles, and she was/is Buffy The General of the Elite. So the one standing next to Dawn could have been a doppelganger and the other one, the ghost, she was a doppelganger's doppelganger.

It was said that Spike and Pitts are they same person. As a human, William was destined, when taken by the evil, two of him were created. One of them has now fulfilled that destiny, Pitts is The Keeper Of The Light.

THE NEW ANGEL INVESTIGATIONS part 2

THE DEMON HUNTERS

CHAPTER 29 SHE DOESN'T FORGIVE YOU.

Next to the Totnes to Dartmouth road, just out of Totnes, a field had been bought so that the Tuckenhay farm could have a farm shop, selling Dani and Leia's sail boats, horse drawn wagons. Many examples of locally grown and made produce and the tourist information.

"Sukie, I left Dawn's water bottle in the back, can you get it for me please ?" asked Pitts.
"So, what is it Pitts ?" asked Dani.
"The last three cars that came past here, they all turned onto the Dittisham road, I think they were full of vampires."

"What are you going to do about them ?" asked Dani.
"Keep an eye on them, for now," said Pitts, "I was thinking about seeing Blue and Scherry about going to Teignmouth tonight."
"Oh, yeah, the Trudi thing."
"If Sukie is gonna be here with you and Dawn, I might as well go," said Pitts.

When he got back to Hillhouse he said of his idea to Scherry and Blue, they both were keen on the idea, so Scherry rang Trudi and arranged it.
Trudi lived in a detatched house, a stones throw from the neighbours house.
The house had been left to Trudi when her mother and father died. Along the side of the house was her fathers work shed, it still had the tools of his trade and various blocks of wood.

While they were looking at the various woodworking tools there was a rustling in the bushes, Blue suggested that Scherry take Trudi inside. Pitts and Blue searched the grounds, finding nothing they went back to look at the tools. They been in the shed for some ten minutes or so when Blue became aware of some-one watching her, she turned to see a head peering around the door.

He had black wiry hair, but his main distinctive features on his forehead were the two short curved horns.

"What are you, why are you here ?" it asked.
"The girl that lives here was very concerned about the noises in her garden, we said we'd help her," said Blue.
"So come inside and tell us about yourself," said Pitts.
"I used to get offered a hot drink," it said.

Pitts stepped back as it came into sight, the horns on it's head were normal compared with the rest. Naked from the waist up, but from the waist down he was as a donkey or ass, fur covered, knees bending back, hoofed feet the lot.

"Your a ghost, and your a vampire, at least you look like one but your not, it's like you defy description," it said.
"Not sure how to tell you this," said Blue, "but so are you. I have heard about you though, I'll go and tell Scherry to get an extra cup ready."

Scherry and Trudi were just starting their cup of tea when Blue walked in.

"Trudi has a few books about the supernatural incidents in this part of the country, your mentioned," said Scherry.
"That could be helpful, Pitts and I have found what caused the bushes to move, seeing as how you've got those books you might want a meet, an extra cup would be appreciated," said Blue.

"You've found out who it is, I'd like to meet this person," said Trudi.
"We'll bring him in, although describing him as a person would be stretching the imagination a bit."

Blue had just left the room, Scherry and Trudi heard Blue say that they should go in.
Pitts and Blue entered the room with the other.

"You look at me with a puzzled look, yet you accept these three, why is that."
"What do you mean ?, what is it with these three ?" asked Trudi.
"I'll explain," said Scherry, "these books Trudi, any mentions of The Blue Lady from Berry Pomeroy Castle."
"Quite a lot, nasty bit of work, why ?" asked Trudi.

"Our friend, Blue, is The Blue Lady, and she isn't a nasty bit of work, she quite nice when you get to know her. Pitts used to be a vampire. Now about our new friend here, I should tell him first, that she who he spied upon has not forgiven him for what he did, but she is pleased with his treatment of the plants and the humans."

"Trudi," said Pitts, "Scherry is the human appearance of the Goddess Medusera."
"Hmm, ok, I think I know who he is, there's quite a bit about him in these books, he's the God Pan," said Trudi.
"Just a thought Trudi, have you ever cleaned or oiled your fathers tools ?" asked Pitts.

"Never needed to," said Trudi.

Pitts looked at Trudi then at Pan.

"Your father and I were great friends Trudi, I have been keeping his tools clean and in good condition. Many years ago your father did something for me, he built a set of pipes they created a wonderful sound, it used to float
*9 on the wind, they even got my name."

"I remember a sound like that, but I never found what caused the sound."
"That's because your father kept them in a secret compartment in the bureau, if you pull out the letter writing board, indented in it you'll see where the ruler goes and where the pens can be kept. Take the ruler, holding the number one, push it in a bit then turn it ninety degrees. About an inch above the writing board, that's it, insert the ruler, push it right in and turned the whole thing."

Trudi found the Pan's Pipes, then she offered them to Pan.

"No thanks, your father would play, 'Are You Going To Scarborough Fair', when-ever the coast was clear. Your father would like it if you could play them," said The God Pan.

On the following Sunday most of the people from Hillhouse and Tuckenhay
were going to a covered market a few miles from Newton Abbot. They all managed to fit in two vans and a car. They drove into the parking area managing to find an area that was shaded and next to a covered walkway, but that didn't stop Hope from yelling

"Mind the sun !"

Westy, Wesley, Spike and Graeves ran into the buildings.

"That was just nasty Hope," said Leia, "but I did like it."

Once inside the doors Wes, Spike, Westy and Graeves realised what Hope had done. They tried to get their own back several times, Graeves was just about to trip up Hope when Westy pulled him back.

"What's your problem, I was just about to get her," said Graeves.
"Yes, and I'd be in your debt if it wasn't for one thing. She's next to Dawn."
"What's wrong with that ?"
"Dawn falls over Hope, Dawn tells her sister Sue, who tells her best friend Curremy who is my girlfriend !" said Westy, "give me time to get Dawn away from Hope then do it again."

It took nearly ten minutes, then Graeves moved in for some payback, as he 'casually' moved closer to Hope he noticed that some of the hunters were in attack mode, he drew Hope's attention then indicated the problem area. He went to Westy and Chaser.

"The girls are preparing for an attack, we should move away."
"I thought I could feel some other vampires near us," said Westy.

As it was the vampires didn't know that the hunters were there, they had been concentrating on another, as soon as they showed themselves the hunters quietly attacked them, taking them all by surprise.

"So, who is their...where is their intended victim ?" asked Graeves.

The girls looked around but the young woman they just saved was no-where to be seen.

"Guess she must have got a bit scared," said Fiona.

Pitts and Dawn were looking at the Opal fish when the woman walked past them.

"That's who was being attacked, but there's something not right about her," said Pitts.
"I agree, if it wasn't for the sunshine I'd say she is a vampire, mind you she was in the shade."
"Hi guys, never expected vampires here, we just got six of them," said Hope

"Trouble is I'm feeling more of them, Hope, Dawn, go and get Scherry, something is wrong here. Hello Fiona."
"Can you get Scherry, some of us have just found seven vampires."
"Yeah, I'm just starting to feel them up there," said Pitts.
"They're not up there, they are over that way," said Fiona.

"Twenty of them, Fiona get the girls away from them, get all the girls to the vans, then ask Scherry to make them be at Hillhouse, best get that woman as well," said Pitts.

Pitts organised for Chaser, Garet and Owen to take the vehicles back, that would keep them out of the way as well.
At Hillhouse the girls were all talking about the vampires.

"There was something else going on there," said Pitts, I felt twenty of them, two lots of them were after that woman, she is the common denominator."
"You make it sound as though she had something to do with them, so lets throw in some ideas, if she is a hunter or slayer I'd know it," said Dani.

"She could be a vampire that's turned back, like you Pitts," said Dawn.
"If that was so, I don't think they'd be twenty of them."
"The other way of looking at this, is that she was one of them that did something against them," said Pitts, "and if they know she's just been rescued by us, then next time they may send more."

"Scherry, we're trying to figure out who the victim is here."
"I was just going to her room, I was getting close when I started getting all these feelings. The closer I got to her room the worse those feelings got then I started to change, that has only happened once before, and then it was to protect me. I hope I'm wrong, but, well, she may be a vampire of the highest order."

"Like a descendant of Drac," asked Pitts.
"I'd feel happier if all the humans were somewhere else," said Pitts.

Angel appeared in the room.

"What are you here for ?" asked Scherry.
"We think you are right Pitts, that being so, get the humans to safety, now. If you don't deal with the ones here in the usual way you could be facing an attack of biblical proportions. That being said the Elite are already here, all of them, the full armies of Byzantium are moving here as we speak."

"Before you go Scherry, if that is a pure demon in there, the last thing we should do is make her angry, so can you get the humans to leave us some of their blood ?" asked Pitts.

As soon as she could, Scherry went to a safe place.
She appeared in a museum, it was the museum of Ancient Religious Artefacts.

"Hello, my name is Brenda can I help you, you look a bit lost."
"I am not lost, I've just never been here before, I'm known as Scherry, I do not need your help, I want your assistance. I want to speak to the one in charge."
"Here is Giles, he is in charge," said Brenda.

"Good morning, how may I help you ?"
"As I was about to say to Brenda, some humans need the help of you watchers."
"How did you know that we are watchers ?" asked Giles.

Giles looked at Brenda, then their visitor.

"If we can help, then good, you said the humans, why ?" asked Giles.
"There is a possibility that the humans may be in danger, they do not have the protection that the vampire slayers or the demon hunters have, so I will bring them here now."

A glorious white light filled the room as Scherry became the Goddess Medusera.

"Oh........good..........grief !!" exclaimed Giles and Brenda.

The museum began to fill with humans from Hillhouse, Tuckenhay and Tintagel.

"I know you !, your Richard, what is happening ?, why are you here ?" asked Giles.
"You'll need to ask Chaser, she'll know," said Richard, "Chaser, this is Mr Giles, he wants to know why we're here."

"Look, as far as I know, the woman who we thought was the victim of a vampire attack is a vampire herself, co-incidentally our Buffy killed Count Dracula, now she is helping the niece of Count Dracula. As far as we can tell she is being blamed for getting rid of Drac, so all vampires are after her for revenge.

One of the Generals of Byzantium, Angel, he told us that there might be an attack of biblical proportions, heck we humans are even seen as more important than the ex vampire, now human, Pitts."

"Who is this Pitts, what do you mean our Buffy ?" asked Giles.
"Actually you know him, sort of, he is Spike. He is the Keeper of The Light, and Buffy, Anne, she's the General of The Elite, The unofficial head of tyhe armies of good," said Chaser

"Sorry, I remember about her now, but this light, what is it ?"
"It is the light at the end of the tunnel, the light you go towards when you die."
"I have talked with the Goddesses here, all the slayers have gone to help us, except the four who guard where Sunnydale was," said Goddess Medusera, " oh and Chaser, Pitts isn't human, he is one with the old immortals. I will be back as soon as is safe."

As the sun disappeared from Hillhouse the first few vampires attacked, two were allowed entry into Hillhouse, their friends were dusted.

"How many vampires are going to attack, do we have enough arrows for the crossbows ?" asked Leia.
"As long as we wait until the vampires are close, then the arrows will be near us, then Curremy can put a force field up and we can collect the used arrows, as for us having enough of the arrows, well just think along the lines

that every hunter, slayer, Rider, member of the Elite, each of the Armed Forces of Byzantium has ten arrows. Hunters, slayers and the Elite number about a thousand, so we could keep firing all day before we'd need to go out and get some back," said Molly.

"On the other hand, I could have just said, yeah sure !"
"The other thing is, is anything out of those two vampires yet ?" asked Leia.
"Give 'em a chance, they.....oh, hi Pitts," said Molly.
"All we did was show one of them vamps a photo of Jesus on the cross and he imploded, it did look good by the way. The other one told us what we wanted to know, before we asked any questions."

As with the time of old now gone, the present time passed,
Those who remained, within the stones of the stone circles,
Circles of a forgotten past, within the stones they'd wait.

The immortals would search the land, but if the Goddess called,
The hunters would respond and rise from the stones circles,
The call to protect the people, to protect the land, protect the all.

If the need arose, they would battle with the demons on the land,
If required they would go to fight the demons that lived in the air,
They would even go into hell, and fight the demon's there, and they did !.

THE DEMON HUNTERS

CHAPTER 30 A DEAD HUNTER
[of 42 chapters]

"Wait, I'm remembering something that Chaser said about Graeves, he said about taking the easy way to travel, I seem to remember Chaser being puzzled as to what way was far quicker than a car," said Anthea.
"So when Scherry get's back I'll ask her to zip me down to see Graeves, so that I can ask him in person," said Garet.

"Why not ring them up, ask Curremy to move us. Either that or get Dani, Mark and Sandy with us," said Sally.

While Anthea went to get Mark, Sally rang Dani, she asked for them to prepare themselves. Garet left a handwritten message for Scherry, telling her what their plans were.

"Sally, why didn't you think to ask if Graeves was in ?" asked Anthea, "but this could be a good time, what is Graeves's real name Dani ?"
"It's Bruce Wigginson, see he was burying a horse, ably watched by Leia and myself. We mentioned that to Amanda and Darla, Leia suggested that we call him Graeves because of what he had just done, guess the name stuck better than what Leia thought."

"Seems like he's only just gone to the shops," Garet informed them, "what are you all staring at ?, unpromted laugh ?, check the zipper !"

The door opened, there stood Graeves.

"So there I was, walking to the shop when I heard this woman's voice in my head, she spoke sentences but they were statements, she was telling me what would happen what did happen an indication of the now."
"Sounds like a Goddess spoke to you," said Willow, "not a Goddess though, it may have been THE Goddess."

"What reason did you lot have for coming here ?" asked Graeves.
"Something you said to Chaser about a fast way to travel," said Anthea.
"Something about a fast way to travel ?, oh right, Richard and I have been looking up about that."
"That's good Graeves, now what was it ?" asked Anthea.

"A young vampire once told me, about how a demon or part demon could move about, but that was a long time ago," replied Graeves.
"A young vampire ?, is that one who's has been a vampire for a few days, or a child that has been a vampire for a long time ?" asked Pitts.

"The second choice, that child said about the older ones using the cirlces as transport, they made up a memory rthyme so that it could be remembered."
"Was it just demons and the like that could use them ?" asked Sandy, "what I mean is could the hunters and slayers use these things."
"I must admit I was looking at where these things are," said Graeves

"It would be helpful if we know the names of these thing, that and could we build them ourselves," said Jill.
"I've got it, dad, the stone cirles," said Pitts.
"Well done, the memory line, first up the first line was the old English Ditty,

"That's referring to the great plague of London, how could it be that ?"
"It was the plague that made this Ditty famous. but it was used long before the plague. In the village where it was started lived a little girl who was different from the others, her name was Rosey.

"That lines were

A pocket full of posey,
Atishoo atishoo
We all fall down," said Graeves

"The stone circle is ring 'o' ring
The second line tells of what was in the pockets of the demons when they returned, probably from other ends or parts of the country.
Atishoo atishoo is said to remind the user of the sounds made, they are Artu is heu, Arrte izi suheoo.

The fourth line, that's a good one. Think about it, when you go to use the rings you position yourself so that you are balanced, just suppose you are on a bit of an incline, when you get to where you are going your on a decline. The first thing you will do is fall over !.

Now the number of words in the first line times the number of words in the last line denote the number of thirty inch paces to the activation point from the circle," said Graeves.

"How do you know which direction to go in, from the circle ?" asked Garet.
"There are two 'moend stones', one at each end of the diameter of the circle, they line up with the setting sun on the summer eqinox, now the equinox also tells of the way that they travelled, horse is equin ox is ox or cow and the 'moend' is an anagram of demon," said Pitts.

"How on earth did you know that ?" asked Graeves.
I'm just full of useless information," said Pitts.
"And there I was thinking how clever you are," said Graeves.
"I won't be offended if you keep thinking like that," said Pitts, trying not to smile.

"Ah, I need to go and make myself a hot drink, get the taste of that 'C' word out of my mouth," said Graeves.
"What 'C' word ?" asked Anthea, slightly shocked.
"Clever."
"That girl, Rosey. You said she was different, how ?" asked Willow.
"Very different, she was the first of her kind, she was the first human."

As Graeves was walking out of the room Tom walked in, it was obvious from his expression that something was wrong.

"I'd been out for some fresh air, on the way back I found Julie slumped in a ditch, dead," said Tom.
"Was it a vampire, was there any teeth marks ?" asked Sue.
"I think it was a vampire, but there was only a thin cut, but over the vein."
"We need to see Westy," said Willow.

"You think Westy did it ?" asked Sue.
"Oh no, but he'll know who it was," said Willow.

Westy was enjoying a smooth, cooled, blackberry and apple flavoured blood.

"Westy, Tom just found Julie's body, it had a thin cut over the vein, do you know who did it, I can't put my finger on it," said Willow.
"From your clue's, it would have to have been Lady Lawford," said Westy.
"Clue's, what clue's ?" asked Willow.

"The thin cut, the finger. She preferred to do that to girls as licking the blood made the fear increase. She never did that to a bloke, didn't like the texture of day old stubble on her tongue."
"Why her though ?, there's been reports of them from all around the country but never down this way," said Willow.

"Maybe she was covering her tracks, get the immortals to search for her, be a good idea to ask Scherry to contact Sukie," said Westy.

In the early evening Goddess Medusera contacted Sukie by thought

'Sukie, it's me Medusera you are about to be visited by two other Goddesses, I'd like you to ring me after they have left.'

Sukie looked towards their visitor, she was a very powerful witch, a high priestess and a seer.

"We will soon be visited by three Goddesses, they will be here very soon so prepare yourself."

The room was filled with a glorious blue light.
As soon as they were whole, in the room, Sukie knelt to each of them .

"Thank you Sukie," said Goddess T 'ara.

Then she put her hand to Sukie's and lifted her to her feet. The Goddess Turee stood in front of Sukie's visitor.

"It is good to see you again," said Goddess Turee.
"We have met, I do not remember you," said the seer.

A group of vampires had just set up in the town of Totnes, they were Lord and Lady Lawford, Beth, Carl and Evelyn.

"Strange, very strange here," said Evelyn, "I took a drive around the area, on the way back I stopped to let a delivery truck from that house on the hill get back on the road, I saw three on the front lawn."
"Three what ?" asked Lord Lawford.
"Not sure, one was a ghost, one was a vampire and if I'm not mistaken the other was a vampire slayer."

"How come those three are friends ?" asked Lady Lawford.
"Does it matter, it's not as if we're gonna be talking to just any-one, speaking of which how are the ones in the basement ?" asked Lord Lawford.
"They'll be like us later tonight," replied Evelyn.

Carl came through the door, obviously distressed.

"I nearly got caught last night, I followed two girls to their home, now I knew that they were demon hunters so I was careful. Trouble is they met another, and I recognised her as a vampire. Then it happened the one that I knew as a vampire began to glow then she vanished, one of the demon hunters called her the Goddess Darla, this place isn't good for us, we should leave," said Carl, "either that or we get our numbers up and start attacking them."

The sound of window being smashed upstairs, Beth was first to react, she ran up the stairs, as she opened the door she saw many boken bottles of
holy water on the floor.

"It's an attack !," she shouted.

Curremy created a force field around the house to stop the vampires leaving but also to keep the humans out, Dani, Leia and Sandy stood at the back of the house holding a large cross each, Fiona Jill and Davina held similar special crosses to the front of the house. Anne, Anthea, Molly and Dana burst in throught the front door quickly trapping the vampires in the kitchen.

Molly and Anthea disposed of Beth and Carl, Anne and Dana were finished with the Lawfords. As Molly turned to attack Evelyn, Evelyn threw six kitchen knives at Molly, four of them dropping her to the floor, Anne didn't let Evelyn have enough time to smile before her dust lined the kitchen sink.

The police, having been called to the house found four piles of dust, a large pile of dust in the basement and a room with broken bottles of holy water.
They did find a knife with two sets of fingerprints on it, and some blood. Some of the police wished it wasn't found, mainly due to the fingerprints and the blood, as one print and the blood were from a girl that was killed a few years before near the town of Sunnydale, America. The other set of prints were from Evelyn Richards, she had gone missing fifteen years prior.

All the hunters and the slayers began to appear at Hillhouse, Molly's body was laid on a table.
The girls looked at each other, then at Molly. The Goddesses Medusera, Darla, Curremy, T'ara and Turee appeared.

"I think an explanation is going to be told to us, so please tell us," said Hope.
"Molly, please join us."
"The last time Molly died, she was killed by an emissary of the evil, Caleb. She had been sent by us to find out what help was needed, that is why Angel, Faith, the amulet and Spike were sent to them, I in the guise of Willow brought forward the other slayers."
"Today was the fifth time that Molly has died," said Goddess T 'ara

Pitts had decided to keep out of the way, he was being kept company by Blue
Blue was describing the picture on the wall when Zandor walked through the wall.

"Hello Zandor," said Blue, "what can we do for you ?"
"There are two others with me, they would like a chat with you."
"Who are they ?" asked Pitts.
"They are Angel and Faith."
"Why do you want to meet me ?" asked Blue.

"I wanted to meet you, after being prompted by Faith," said Angel.
"Any reason why now ?"
"While there is still time," said Angel.
"Then something will happen soon ?" asked Blue.
"Not yet, but soon, I'd like to get know you while I can."

"Then you can see the future, lucky you," said Pitts.
"Knowing the future can be a good thing, it can also be a bad thing. If the future is what you want and you say about it, what if one of those people does something to alter the future. Then that future may not exist, and you may not like the new future," said Angel.

"So knowing the future is good, but not telling any-one," said Blue, "I suppose that even saying the future is rosy may change it."

After the death of Tara Willow was consumed by her quest for vengeance. Once cured she was taken to the South West of England by Giles. He hoped that he and those in the coven could help Willow. But those in the coven were afraid of Willow, was it because they could see the other in Willow but could not see who it was.
