Navi Rawat (left) will play Dana, a Potential recently activated as a Slayer. Her TV credits include six appearances as Melanie in "24" and she has been on "The OC," "Roswell," and "Fastlane."

She doesn't look very cute. In fact she looks so not-Buffyverse and a bit old for a new slayer. They should really get someone else to do the castings!
 
How can you say that? You have seen one picture of her, which isn't terribly good quality, and might be old, and have already decided that she's wrong for the role! That's a hell of an assumption to make from one pic! I personally think she is cute but I reserve any judgement on her acting or casting. 😛
 
I just don't know. I'm hardly ever wrong about judging ppl at first sight, at first I dà­dn't like Eve, now she seems to be evil indeed. I don't know bout this girl, she looks ... I dunno, like she has been homecomming queen in her high school days!
 
Well, I guess we'll find out...plus I've seen plenty of pics of SMG that make her look totally wrong for the part. It looks like an interesting ep though!

I agree that she's not cute . . . thank goodness! In fact, she's very attractive. And she's not a bit old for a new slayer. Nikki Wood is older. One becomes a Potential, while one is a teenager. There is no law that states that a Slayer has to be one. The only reason that most Slayers were teens, is because the life-span of a Slayer was basically short . . . until Buffy and Faith came along.

By the way . . . how does one look Buffyverse?
 
She was a potential less then a year ago. So she's a tad bit old to be a newly installed slayer.
 
The episode spoilers stated that she became a spoiler less than a year ago? If so, then she became a potential a little late in life. What's the big deal?
 
I don't think she looks like a Slayer either. Not that it'll bother me though. I guess we shouldn't complain on the looks, we've seen many Slayers over the years: the first slayer, nikki, buffy, kendra. They come in all shapes and sizes. What I'll look at is a) can she act? b) does she do well in her 'slayer role and c) is she not annoying
 
This has got me thinking, if shes a new Slayer wouldn't she have been a potential during Buffy S7. I thoght they collected all the Potentials together and had the sleep-over-athon that was S7. (Not that I want all future slayers to be those in S7 but I'm just saying, the storylines sort of dont match up)

I think maybe that gilr,the new slayer,wasnt a potencial...
 
There were many more potentials out there. During the speech that Magui just posted, it showed girls all over the world being activated. How could you miss that?
 
Well I do think that she was a potential, because well ofcourse they couldnt find all of the potentials in the world and it makes sense why they wouldnt find her. I think only potentials were activated because every girl has the potential to become a slayer but Potential Slayers are girls who one day will become the slayer.
 
I haven't missed that Fat Elvis 007,but there's sth strange in it...I always thought that the next activated Slayer will be from Potentials who thought with Buffy+Giles said that there is just a handful of Potentials left...
