The new, the old, and the changes on Angel (Good or Bad?)

Am I the only one that thinks the whole 'ratings system' is getting outta hand? I know in order to stay on air Angel has to answer to peoples needs and wants but why do they have to totally redo the show? The same thing happened to Enterprise. Ratings were falling so they come up with this 'Intresting' but whacked out new mission. They have the characters change a bunch and give us more nudity. I don't know bout you guys but thats not what I want. Getting back to Angel.... I may not be expressing my opinion well enough but I think the shows should be able to run they're own course rather then being affected by ratings and networks requests. Heres just a few of the pros and cons in my opinion about the changes on the show.

Getting rid of Cordy - Pro (If they hadn't screwed up her character so bad I would have liked her to stay).
Getting rid of Conner - Definite Pro (He was always to moody and neive for my likings).
Switching from the Hotel to Wolfram and Hart- Pro (I don't like tons of change but it should be intresting).
Having Spike come to the show - Definite Pro (Spikes a wonderful character and should add some wanted hostility between him and Angel).
Adding Harmony - ??? (I have no idea).

Just a reminder...these are only MY opinions and I don't expect Joss and the writers to satisfiy everones wants.
 
Remember, while it's all entertainment to us, the television field is all about money and advertising. While I'm not loving all of the changes, I have to understand why they made them.


I miss Cordy. 🙁
 
Adding Harmony! PRO!!!! I love her so much! lol!
Getting rid of Cordy - Major NO! I loved her too much, wont be the same without her.
Moving to W&H - DEFINITE PRO! The show was WAY too dark before, nice change of pace now Buffy's gone!
 
I think adding Harmony is a bad decision..I really don't like her...besides she did nothing for Buffy or Angel so whats the point of bringing her back...I think them all working at W&H is pretty cool....I am not sure about the Spike thing....I am sorta glad Conners is gone, he was getting on my nerves with the whole I grew up in a hell demension the world must pay crap...it got old.......I wish Cordy would stay, but Charisma just had that baby so she needs to be home..
 
I didn't like Conor all that much. It could have gone better but his character didn't have enough development. He was getting boring.
Cordy was awesome and I loved her but I hated where they went with her and I'm angry that they left it the way they did. I want more answers. She deserved more.
W&H...I think that's going to open a lot of great possibilities to the plot lines...
Harmony...well...um...I don't like her too much but I'm waiting to see what they do with her because I read something interesting about that so it could be kinda cool. I just DO NOT WANT HER WITH SPIKE! Blegh! That was SO wrong! 😛
As for Spike coming...WOO-HOO!!! SO excited! I love that guy and I think that if they do it right it will add so much intrigue and fun to the show. I just hope they don't screw up his character development. I know some of you could care less about Spike but James did great by that character and it would be so wrong for all of that to be for nothing like Cordy.

Who said there would be less Wes?

He's one of the most popular and well liked characters on the show, I seriously doubt they put him ithen background. It's been said many times that Spike will get no special treatment or more air time than anyone else on the cast list (cept for David). So I'm sure Wesley will remain a prominent figure on the show. And more nudity-definite pro

I'm glad for all the changes. Connor never added anything positive to the show. Cordy's character was played with too much, I'd like to see her back again later in the series. Spike will hopefully bring some much needed humour to the show; the melodrama of late has been too much for me. Harmony's character is currently too linear for me to form an opinion on... I think with a little development she could be interesting. And as for the change of locale, I'm all for it; I've never liked the hotel. I always thought the nest-like solitude of the S1 office was more Angel's style.
 
one of the things i love about angel is the fact that they were the under dogs. i worry that giveing them so much power will throw the show askew. then i rember the angel staff and i stop worrying.

No..well maybe. A few articles have mantioned it but nothing concrete. I hope so though. The best Buffy news site is www.bbc.co.uk/cult/buffy/news/.com get all the info you need there. Including info you don't want or care about.
 
I think change is exactly what the show needs!
Besides, we really shouldnt judge season 5 before we've seen it!
Remember, it is God himself, Joss Whedon who is doing Angel, so its gotta be great!
 
Oh I agree with change. Just not with most fo the changes. and it's not just season 5. I was talking about season 4 as well. The whole Conner/Cordy thing was difficult to watch. For a few reasons. 1.EWWWW 2. They're characters were ruined. 3.I'd think about season 1-3 and think about what happend to Cordy in 4 and it was extremely dissapointing. I know she has to go...couldn't they have just killed her off or have her go awazy for awhile? but as I stated before. Joss can't please everyone!
 
well, i guess well see right.. im just glad that the show is coming back..... i hope the WB wont have it in for angel has much has they used to now that they have spike and that buffy on the OTHER network is finished....

all i know is i need my angel now that theres no more buffy, and im just glad its almost time
 
More Wolfram and Hart is always a pro. I was bummed when they all turned into zombies last season, and I thought we'd never see them again. The whole season look cool.
