The company has been working with Hollywood production companies and studios to create family-friendly, mostly unscripted original shows. The company is also in talks to license and acquire content, according to a source that’s pitched a project. One of such programs is a game show from Glassman Media (NBC’s “The Wall”) and Sugar23 (Netflix’s “13 Reasons Why”), which has been given a 10-episode order. The budgets for unscripted are around $400,000 per half-hour, sources indicate. The company is also considering scripted projects as well as animation. “Top Gear” and “The X Factor” alum Brian Gibson is leading the charge on programming.

The company that is that's planning this is, none other than fast food chicken icon, Chick-fil-A. Sooo. When Chick-fil-A gets into the streaming service, will it make you hungry to subscribe?

No, for at least 2 reasons.

First, I don't particularly like them or their politics. I get much better sandwiches from local places. And you don't get credit from me for stopping donations to anti-LGBTQ groups when you then give your CEO a bonus in the exact same amount and he donates it.

But even ignoring that, the format indicates it will be primarily reality tv and competitions. And I don't like either of those.

I don't eat there often, but occasionally I'll nab a chicken sandwich & waffle fries when in mood 😳
Can't boycott every place who's politics I disagree with. There'd be hardly anything to eat! 😏
Dunno bout streaming service, though. Seems an odd pairing. Guess it would come down to content.
Family friendly type shows generally not in my wheelhouse. So not sounding good to start.

There are times I may have to. Can't stand Walmart, but when the smoke detector says it needs new batteries at 2am they were the only place open.

But i see a difference between a person's politics and what a business openly supports. When a business openly supports a cause I strongly disagree with, i have to assume that some of my money I gave them is going to that cause. And if I can manage without using that business them I will.

Chick-Fil-A already has produced a children's short animation series called Evergreen Hills. Chick-Fil-A is a religious affiliated company so this just sounds like propaganda to me. I don't know why they need their own streaming service, or why they are producing content at all. Stick to cooking delicious chicken sandwich and waffle fries!

There are lots of religious streams, why shouldn't they have one too? I know nothing of the restaurant, they arent in Australia. And I thought the name was Chick A Fill for ages. Still rekon that'd be a better name 😛

I like reality/"unscripted" tv more now because its easy, so I'd be happy to see more that isn't focused on youth sex and drinking. Give me more survivor type shows 😀

Un scripted shows?
Does that mean more crap like the Seinfeld stuff? Was he admitting that George and co could not read or did he have another excuse for the dribble?

Since that show ended have any of the actors been in another show?

Seinfeld is terrible. I hoped they meant like United States of Bates type shows or Survivor without the social experiment element.

Unscripted television in this case I believe refers more to "reality" television than improv comedy.

So, a niche streaming service for children's entertainment that's friendly to Evangelical Christians and their fellow travelers. It's not the worst idea, but the problem with streaming services is that most of them are loss leaders, and the ones that aren't are heavily dependent on advertising, which you probably don't want in this case, and all are dependent on a regulatory regime the Telecommunications companies hate. I don't think you could convince people to pay the true price for a niche streaming service in this day, not when everyone already had a kids section for the last ten years. But in two years, who knows how streaming media will look like?

@Skanky Vamp why didn't you tell me that Chick Fill A is planning to open stores here next year? It'll undoubtedly be no where near me, but still!

Oh I really hope they do a show on the US ag animal showing circuit. It would be perfect for the brand! I have stumbled across the pig showing on Instagram and I want a reality show on it right now!
