I didn't mean to imply that they NEVER not even once helped her on more than an emotional level. I do think that she could survive against the forces of darkness and Monsters of the Week without them. She is very formidable and resourceful.

I agree. Though re: Monsters of the Week, a lot of times they are much too tricky to kill. Take Pyleans (if that's what you call Lorne's species). You have to completely dismember them, IIRC. I can't imagine Buffy pouring through all of the books to research it. She didn't do it much anyhow. Well she may have still had Giles in this alternate-thing..

The reason she went to face The Master with a renewed sense of nihilistic purpose was due to Willow's state after finding classmates slaughtered in the AV room and Giles with his earlier comments about how she is their only hope. If she had stuck to her original plan of staying in for the night she wouldn't have been killed and The Master wouldn't have risen "You're the one that sets me free".

The reason that Buffy was out patrolling with a 103 temperature was guilt over Jenny's death. Without that emotional tie she wouldn't have been that reckless with her life that night.

Yes, very true but it doesn't make it any less important or what have you that Scoobies ended up helping her.

I really really really disagree with that. Buffy alone wouldn't have survived day one in Sunnydale. The Scoobies complete her. She can never fight alone. Spike even confirms that when he says that the reason why she lasted this long was that she had family and friends supporting her.

I can list billions of times where Buffy would have died if Xander or Willow or Giles or the others weren't there to save her. Vampires would have dragged her down with them if it wasn't for Xander pulling her out in the sun light in The Harvest. Buffy would have died of fever if it wasn't for Giles doing his spell to switch Amy and her mother back, and let's not forget the most obvious one; Xander bringing Buffy to life in Prophecy Girl. And that's just in S1.

I don't disagree with you about Buffy doing most of the job; patrolling every night, killing the monsters most of the time, and being the most competent one physically, but to say she'd survive on her own? I don't think anyone can do that. Even Angel needed his friends to survive in AtS.

I agree that her friends are very helpful and contribute a lot (though the brunt of the work still falls to her) but I have issues with saying "she could never fight alone". There were a lot of times when she was in opposition with the Scoobies and was forced to figure things out herself without their help (not including the times when she figured things out when they were there), her ability to do that probably stemmed from being the leader and already the one that made the tough calls and handled the extra stress. Willow says in Checkpoint, "Buffy doesn't need our help. Sometimes she goes off and does things without even telling us...but we can help because we do magicks." It is always better to have backup but there are times throughout the series when she has been forced to be the lone wolf and survived. It was one of the reasons Giles' comment in Superstar was so ironic, "Buffy has never faced anything on her own before". We knew that even with friends she faced a lot by herself and relied on her own wits and Buffy qualities.

I still think that Spike's comment in FFL meant that she had reasons to live, having people she loved and wanted to protect kept her fighting. Without that human anchor she would be where she was in S6. Fighting the fight because it is required of her morally but "going through the motions" and only doing her duty because it is the right thing to do and not because she feels empassionated about it.

As for me, i'd probably go with seeing Angel whole reaction when he found out Buffy died.

There is a moment in Seeing Red, Willow walks into the Summers bathroom and sees Buffy sitting on the ground with tears in her eyes, a torn bathrobe, and a bruised thigh, and Xander is standing there with a bloodied face. I always wondered what Willow was thinking at that moment. If she thought that maybe Xander tried to force himself on Buffy.

I think I would have liked to have heard the conversation between Willow and Xander post-Grave. Although, I seem to recall a really good fanfic about what happened right after Xander rescues Willow from Dark Willow and going back to the Summers' house.

I wanted to know how Dawn knew that Buffy had "sex that's rough". Did she read her journal? Did Buffy decide to confide in her again? Did she just guess it had to be really kinky good sex since it was between Buffy & Spike? (remember in that ep she called her "hot little Buffy")

Dawn: What am I, going to compete with you? You're older and hotter and have sex that's rough and kill people. I don't have any of that.
