The point of Anya's help in Graduation Day PT. 1?

Anyone else don't see the point in Anya's demon help in Graduation Day Pt 1?

I think Anya really helped the gang. Maybe not in the fighting department, but I think the gang really didn't know what they were up against until Anya revealed that she had actually been to an ascension. She then described what goes on during the process, and they would've been blind sighted if they didn't know. It really spurred the gang to come up with solutions on how to fight the Mayor.

I think she did help, not with the fighting but with her knowledge. The gang were completely lost, they didn't know what was gonna happen,they had no idea really what an ascension was they only knew the mayor was going to turn into something BIG.
Anya's knowledge helped a bit, i mean had i been in the scooby gang i would have appreciated any help. big or small.

Plus, even without the knowledge: Moral support. If you are going into what could be the battle of your life(ves), any help that someone may offer is welcome, even if it's not going to be much help.

Any of the students themselves (in pt. 2) taken solo aren't much help. Put a lot of them together though, and you got a force to be reckoned with.

I love when Anya shares her knowledge of the ascension with everyone. Great scene.

I think Anya helped them a lot. She had personal experience of an ascention that was valuable knowledge, so even though she didn't stay to help them fight, she still gave them powerful information of what to expect so they could try to come up with a plan to fight.

If Anya hadn't said anything, Buffy would have unprepared, and what if she'd lost and had to fight it elsewhere. It may have brought terrible consequences; no new school. So would we have missed that line by Spike? 'Button, button, whose got the button? My money is on the witch! Reds a naughty girl.'

Not massively relevant to the thread but I do want to point out that I love Anya's journey that starts here. In the first case of apocalypse she runs away but gives some knowledge, but stays and fights (albeit for her own self-interest) when Glory comes a'knocking. Then when the First rolls into town it's like she finally gets why people fight and so joins in for the good of everyone, not just herself or the people she cares about.

I just think it's such a good arc characterwise.
