I just realized that in Angel, it is said at some point that the Senior Partners of Wolfram and Hart take decision since the dawn of times. In the Pylea adventure, we see that the Wolf, the Ram, and the Hart, are like something so big it exists in more than one dimension.
So, are the Senior Partners and The First a same entity?

In the end of season 7 of Buffy, the Hellmouth is destroyed, but do we consider that the First has been destroyed too? I always felt like it was what they meant. When the First says to Buffy "You came pretty close to smacking me down", didn't it actually mean "You came pretty close to destroy my plans in Sunnydale"?

And, last question: is the Power that Be the yin of yang that the First is?
Do we ever know more about it? Does it exist since the dawn of time?

The First isn't destroyed but its plans were...as for Wolfram & Hart they don't have anything to do with the First I'm assuming since it was never mentioned and they had the amulet to destroy its plan? I just think they're both competion for each other cause theres a lot of evil that all seem to wanna bring havoc

Oh I almost forgot the Powers to Be were the good ones who try to help kind of like a Heaven of angels..some turn bad but for the most part they work towards a greater good

I agree, except the PTB kind of confuse me. I think it/they is/are more into keeping a balance of power rather than necessarily working towards a greater good (I'm getting that more from ATS and Season 8). Or, perhaps working toward the greater good, but willing to accept casualties along the way. That's why Buffy and Angel to a lesser extent, dont' always want to accept the greater good- sometimes it's at the expense of individual lives.

The Senior Partners have been around since the time of the Old Ones, but were pretty low on the totem pole.

They took control once the Old Ones died out or fled to different dimensions. The firm has been in power since the first record of humans.

As for them taking down The First? They didn't want The First's apocalypse to interfere with their Apocalypse (with a capital A according to Holland Manners).

I find it hilarious though, that Wolfram & Hart essentially saved the world by providing the good guys with the amulet.
