Let's get this show on the road shall we?

I thought, despite his short stay on the show, Doyle was a very funny guy. So I'd like to take this opportunity to open up a "Quotes" thread in his honour. 😀 I know, I'm crazy. Ignore me.

But seriously... had anyone got any favourite quotes from our favourite side-kick?

Here are some of mine:

Doyle: Don't worry. When Angel's finished with this case, I guarantee you'll be wanting to jump off a bridge again. (I Fall To Pieces)

Doyle: You need to champ people up a little more casual like, you know? "What's your name? How's life treatin you? What's that, you say? Minions from hell getting you down?"

Angel : Why would a woman I've never met even talk to me?
Doyle : Have you looked in the mirror lately? No, I guess you really haven't, no. (City Of)
 
I have quite a few.. what with Doyle.. being one of my fav characters.. so i loved anything that he said..
"It's - a good gate." (City Of).. not really that funny.. but still his face was comical..


Doyle: Oh, god. You know what would feel really good right now? One of those mind-numbing, head-cracking visions that I get from time to time, because that would really kill me now. Is there some kind of trick to this?"
Cordy: I think the trick is laying of the ale before you start quoting Angela's Ashes and weeping like a baby man."
Doyle: Hey, that's a good book.
Cordy: So I've heard. But I doubt that the main characters are Betty and Barney Rubble as you so vehemently insisted last night. Also I don't think Oz appreciated being called my little Bam-bam all night. - In The Dark


Doyle: If you need help. Then look no further. Angel Investigations is the best! - Our rats are low."
Cordy: Our rates!
Doyle: It says rats. Our rates are low, but our standards are high. When the chips are down, and you're at the end of your rope you need someone that you can count on. This is just *the* quote to me, lol...

HOMELESS WOMAN: Spare change?

DOYLE: Get a job, you lazy sow.
 
Angel: You think she's a hottie.
Doyle: Ah, yeah, she's a stiffener all right, I can't lie about that.

Just the word "stiffener" seems so blunt its funny.

Doyle: He likes playing the hero. Walking off into the dark, his long coat flowing behind him in that mysterious and attractive way.
Cordelia: Is this a private moment? 'Cuz I could live you alone.
Doyle: I'm not saying *I'm* attracted... Maybe I'm a *little* attracted.

And this one is kind of haunting:

Doyle: Is that it? Am I done?
 
My favorite quote from Doyle (and the one I use to get into my Irish accent) is from the first episode:

'I get visions. Which is to say great splitting migraines that come with pictures.'
 
Hurray for Doyle! I actaully stopped watching Angel after he died...not because I just couldn't go on! No, because at the time I didn't have cable, and NBC was running WB shows (Buffy on Tuesdays at three and Angel on Saturdays at 1), and then they switched the time slot for Angel to like, 4 in the morning or something, and being a 13-year-old girl, I wasn't allowed to stay up that late 😉 Anyway, this is my fave Doyle quote:

From Lonely Hearts:
Doyle: "Everyone just simmer down here, okay? Violence isn't going to solve a thing here. (steps forward and head-buts the blond guy) On the other hand it is kind of festive."
 
Some of my favorite Doyle quotes are:
Angel: You don't smell human.
Doyle:I take offense to that. I'm completly human!(sneezes and his demon face comes out)...On my mother's side.

Doyle: I think we deserve a night of fun, don't you think? I mean, it breaks up the nights of death and mayhem.

Doyle: Angel Investigations, we hope you're helpless, no, wait...
Doyle: Our rats are low
Cordelia: Rates!
Doyle: It says rats.
a little later:
Doyle: I'm sure people will start barging in once they hear about our low rats.

Angel: Well, the Oracles said something bad is coming. Soldiers of Darkness ushering in the end of days kind of bad.
Doyle: So much for the security of long-term savings bonds, huh?

Some of those may not seem very funny, but Glenn face and just the way he says them makes them hysterical.
 
I hear ya. I loved You're Welcome, but that whole scene was gut wrenching. "First soldier down," and the look on both their faces when they realized all they've been through.

i did cry! i loved that little moment for doyle in 'you're welcome'...it showed that even though he's gone, Doyle, and Glenn, will always be in the hearts of all Angel-fans.
 
I did cry when I saw that brief scene and the only other times i've cried watching TV were 'The Gift' and 'Hero'

I didn't even cry when Cordy snuffed it

Aww. I cried when both of them died. I loved that scene. In a way, they all kind of...were together again for the last time. =\ Blaah. It was really sad what happened to him in real life, as well.

-I thought this one was great! I also liked it when Harrie (spelling?) came onto the show out of no where, and he introduced her as his wife! There were so many layers to Doyle and experiences he went through, he could've had his own show.

I think Doyle was one of the most likeable characters on Angel, simply because he was openly funny and generally just one of the lads, he lived each day as it came and no one could've done the part better than Glenn Quinn.
It's a shame Doyle couldn't have been there longer on the show, but he certainly did it justice and his exit from the show was very memorable.

Ok, i've gone of topic a bit, but you get what i'm saying :winky:
