Sorry, I wanted the title to be snappy.
Anywho, we had a thread awhile ago that was like this.

I want to know your real name and if there is a story behind your name.

Example...me.

My name, legally, is Kirstie. It's on my birth certificate and everything. But my mom and dad fought over my name. She wanted Kirstie and he wanted Paige. My dad finally gave in and I was named Kirstie.
But after I was born, when I was around 2, he began calling my Paige and it stuck. Everybody calls me Paige; teachers, friends, family.
But just recently my mom has been refusing to call me Paige, so basically my mom calls me Kirstie, my birth name...my best friend has been calling me Kirstie and has been telling our 'group' to call me the same.
Wow, how confusing is that? So, I guess I'll have to answer to both.

When my mom was pregnant with me, all the italian women in my family swore that because of the way she was carrying, that I was going to be a boy, so my parents really didn't think about girls names for me. My mom was still knocked out when I was brought in to my Dad and while she was out, he named me after himself, Michael, hence I became Michele (one L, just to be a little different).

Same thing happened with my sister in that everyone told her at this time last year that she was going to have a boy and she was so set on the name Anthony, but instead she named her baby girl after one of the names she saw in the credits of the Sopranos. hehe.

My name is Johanna. (Whoa, haven't said that since first grade.. might have been the first thing I learned to say in English, heh.)
Um, anyway, there's nothing interesting about it. My parents had thought of many names (not including Johanna).. but when I was born my mom said "This child most certainly is a Johanna", and my dad said "You're right, she is obviously a Johanna". Plus I've got some old dead family members called Johanna.

My name is Laura Michele{WHOA like you, Cordy} Charlotte Faith Di Filippo. There's no real special stuff behind my name. All except for Charlotte and Faith. Charlotte was what my birthmoter was going to call me, but I was put up for adoption, and three days after I was born, my parents called me Laura, and decided to keep Charlotte as part of my name. I like Laura, but I knw I'm in trouble when someone says Laura Michele...mostly my dad. But I think it has a nice ring to it. Laura Michele.

Now, Faith is another story. That is the Saints name I had to choose for my Church, the whole Catholic thing. Only my teacher said it didn't have to be a Saints name...but he was wrong and all that. oh well.I like it

Well my name is Ash(ley) and its male (damn you Americans making it female 😛). Apparently when I was just born and my mom (and I presume dad) named me my one set of grandparents were dead set against it because of the ash tray connections. Apparently my mom didn't go to see them for ages (they were her in-laws) but now they're fine.

However my mom hates it when I get called Ash, which I prefer as I ...just....do.

My mom and dad decided that my dad would name all the boys and mom would name all the girls. But she only had two boys so my dad named me Lewis Alexander. Had I been a girl my mom would have named me Emily.

Amber Dawn. Amber really had nothing my mom and dad could not agree on a name she wanted Jasmine and dad wanted Madison. My Nana chouse Amber and both my mom and Dad liked it my middle name was after my aunt that had been lost ? Taken away cuz of stupid grandma did not watch her Only my dad when my nana went in to labor with my other Aunt. Though for a long time I was going to be Madison Rose wich is now my cousins name named kinda after what I was going to be named My Aunt loved that name...

Re:

My full Name is Alexandra Marie Tarallo. My father let my mother have free reign of naming me when I was born. Marie is a family name...all of the females in my family have that as their middle or first name. Tarallo is Italian...cecilian to be exact. Alex suits me well, I guess. I'm not really a girly-girl. Tomboyish really....

My name is Justine. Apparently my mother named me after one of the dancers from American Bandstand. How great is that....LOL-love my name, hate the story behind it 😀

Best. story. ever.

I like your name, I don't really know anyone named Justine...it kind of reminds me of Justin - which is also a good name :)
My name is Benjamin. The story behind it is that it was my dad's name. And his dad's name. And his dad's name. And his... er, you get the idea.

My full name is Heather-Lee Marie Thompson ---- I can't think of a story behind but my dad takes credit for it but I think my mom likes hyphens and long names errr... somethin, like that ???

My names Danielle.. I was going to be named Gemma but my auntie's dog was named that.. so ya know.. I got stuck with Danielle.. unfournately.. I hate it ever since I was in infants.. some stupid teacher who cannot read a register.. called me Daniel.. so then the class laughed and I got named Danny-boy.. of which was so lame *rolls eyes*.. but then it passed by.. so I got everyone to call me Dani.. (yesh.. i have anger towards my name)

My full name's Gemma Jean Anne. Which sounds remarkably funny if you imagine it said in a cod southern twang. My mum heard somebody scream at a kid called Gemma in a shop when she was pregnant, and liked the sound of it (Lunacy is hereditary.) Jean for no particular reason, and Anne's my confirmation name. (See: Pesky Catholic thing for details.) It was the most normal sounding saint's name I could think of, though if I'd thought it through, I would have realised that "Gemma Jean Anne" screams "dungarees! straw hat! pitchfork!" I've considered changing it to something more dramatic. Y'know, for dramatic entrances. Maybe-

(Kicks door in)

"MY NAME IS STORM LIGHT'NINGTIDE!"

But that would just be impractical for name badges and things.

I was named after a toy 🙂. Well not really. I was actually named after my granddad's (from my mother's side) dad. But my parents originally got the idea from my big sister who had a toy bunny with the same name that I have. Oh, right, my name is Antti.

I have no middle name from birth, but I'm Michele Elizabeth according to my confirmation name - which makes my initials M.E.S. and accurately describes my room and my car, among other things 🙂

My real name is Josie. My great grandmother's name was Josephine, and my dad loved her so much. She practically raised him, and when he and my mom were expecting me, he asked my mom if he could name me. She loved the name, and here I am!

Awww..my grandmother's name was Josephine. I think it's a really pretty name.
My whole name is Johanna Sofia Michaelsdotter. For a while (a year maybe) I had Cornelia in there as well, between Sofia and my last name I guess... But that's a long story.. anyway now it's just Johanna Sofia.

My birth name is Nicole Desiree. It's pretty, I'll give it that. I used to go by just Desiree for a while, and my friends used to come up with cute petnames for me, like Angel Desiree, which got shortened to Angel D. Now, I just go by Nikki. My mom told me that was what they were originally gonna name me, but, and I quote, "It sounded too casual. Impractical if you we're gonna be a CEO of a company or something."

Don't call me Nicole. I'm way too laid back to be called by my full name.
