Life goes on. It can't be replaced, but life goes on. There's no possibility in their relationship because they could never consummate their love. It's not Buffy's fault that Angel is a vampire--she should not have to pay for his misdeeds for the rest of her life. She'll find a fulfilling relationship someday.

As for Spike, he tried to rape her. If that's not a dealbreaker for anyone, they don't understand the crime.

Kind of off-topic, but I just want to address this.
Well, it wasn't a dealbreaker for Buffy. And a result of Spike breaking his ironclad rule of never hurting Buffy, he saw how unworthy he really was, and got back his soul. Look at it this way: Buffy doesn't blame Angel for Angelus murdering Jenny Calender, or raping any other girls during his time as part of the Scourge of Europe. So why not apply the same logic with Soulless Spike vs Soul-ful (Soul-ful? Kinda weird-sounding) Spike.

And now, to post something relevant. I was just 'meh' about Angel returning, not particularly liking it, but not really opposing it.

I was really happy that Angel came to be there for Buffy. It speaks a lot for the nature of their relationship and how much they care for each other, even if they can't be together as a couple. I loved how all of a sudden we just saw a hand slip into Buffy's. It was such a beautiful, sweet moment.
