There was the episode of the crazy slayer in Angel S5 (the title slips my memory at the moment). At the time she looked like just a girl but having watched Serenity, that slayer looks awfully like Summer Glau! Is it actually Summer Glau? I know that Joss's Serenity actors have crossed over to Buffy/Angel so it may be possible that Summer played the crazy slayer.

No, the psycho slayer, Dana, in Angel season 5, Damage, was played by Navi Rawat she was Ryan’s girls friend in The O.C. as well, But I totally agree with you when I first saw Serenity I thought it was her, they do look very alike.

The episode that you're thinking of is "Damage." And it's not Summer Glau playing the rogue slayer, it's a young actress named Navi Rawat. But Summer Glau did appear in one episode of AtS. She played the prima ballerina in season three, in the episode "Waiting in the Wings."

EDIT: Oops! Looks like BEG answered before me. 🙂

I just watched that episode for the first time...Why did Dana get all the memories and Buffy didn't? Also, do none of these other slayers have familes? Lol, they all just seem to be allowed to join Buffy's organisation without question...

If you remember the Film, the slayer dreamed about past slayers...i think the slayer line kinda downloads random slayer stuff into your subconcious when you are activated....like the basics on how to fight, the essence of what a Vampire is and how to spot them and such....so in those terms she would remember those things and being Schitzo or whatever, would indeed rationalise all those memories in an irrational way.

As for the families.....well i suspect that in most cases they were with watchers, so the familial connection already severed...and the few cases, such as Buffy, the potentials problem may have been told then straight away....

It really seemed like a lot of the slayers were just screwed up emotionally..faith was broken..and so was buffy...were there any slayers..with a good home life...and just emotionally stable?

I wonder if this was why they were chosen?

Good point...but I think the Slayer would HAVE to have endured a rough life to prepare them for what was to come...

That's true..I think the reason they were chosen is because they have experienced so much..so maybe when their slayer duties cause them pain like the death of a loved one..they'd be able to "roll with it" a lot better..than someone who comes from a great childhood..you know the whole middleclass both parents are home love me..type of deal..gosh im ranting..not making sense..sorry..but I'm sure you get what I mean..

I really do think that maybe some higher power was in play when Buffy's mother died..maybe she died for a reason..to make her stronger..so she would have been able to have dealt with the what happened in S7?
