If the two groups ever came to blows, who would win?

Buffy vs. Angel - Angel's kind of a sap when it comes to Buffy. He'll be kind of angsty about fighting her and may not give it his all. I see Buffy coming out on top.

Giles vs. Wesley - Giles will be bust calling up a spell when Wesley pulls out a gun and shoots him. 😛

Willow vs. Illyria - Full powered Illyria will win with no problem due to being an Old One who can slow down time. De-powered Illyria will be arrogant and underestimate Willow and pay for that mistake. I guess this would even out.

Xander vs. Gunn - This one is obvious. Gunn can go head-tohead with multiple vampires and come out victorious. I don't think Xander has any fighting skills. Gunn would win this in less than 15 seconds.

Anya vs. Cordelia - Anya has no powers, and Cordelia is now half-demon. Cordy wins.

Tara vs. Lorne - Lorne can wail out a note and have Tara down before she has time t o counter with a spell. Not to mention Lorne's demon strength. Also, I don't think Tara would really want to hurt Lorne.

Spike vs. Connor - Spike has killed two slayers in his time and can go toe-to-toe with Angel. Spike would give this kid a smackdown.


I have to give this to the Fang Gang.
 
I agree with you, except Tara vs Lorne. I think Tara would win, regardless of Lorne's notes and demon strength simply because of her magic. Neither would want to harm the other, though. She could do a spell to pacify him or slow him down or something.
 
Haha, very funny thread. Very convincing post and arguments [MENTION=11302]The Scourge[/MENTION]. But in my eyes not the one with the strongest muscles or the best skills win such a fight. The Scoobie Gang has a real chance against the Fang Gang. Because the team wins who has the better plan, better tricks and who fights with each other, not next to each other. So I think it's all open, maybe the Scoobie Gang will win because they have more experience in fighting as a team. Or the Fang Gang will win because they are stronger. I wished we could see such a fight. It would be very ... let's say impressing! Maybe a little bit shocking too! 😀
 
I agree with the overall outcome but I disagree with the Cordelia vs Anya. I haven't entirely decided who would win.

Cordelia showed no supernatural abilities (save a vision) in Your Welcome. She had b.a. fighting skills but that was it. Anya has knowledge and experience with magic. She would present enough of a challenge that I don't see the fight being over right away.
 
When you break it down to individual fights, the Fang Gang wins, hand down. But I think if they were able to work as a team the Scoobies might be able to beat them.
 
OK for a start Giles would whip Wes's ass, easy. Giles is a MAN.
Collectivly, the scoobs only have two real fighters, Buffy and Spike.
The FG have 4, Angel, Gunn, Conner and even Illyria, so Fang gang would win in a physical affair 😉
 
Since the Willow/Illyria fight is kind of up in the air, I'm ignoring that one in this post. But if you pair up the remaining members from each fight posted, I think Buffy and Spike would beat Lorne, Cordy, Gunn, and Wes. So for me, I'd still give it to the Scoobies in the end.
 
If we are talking about maximal level of strength Willow can defeat the entire Fang Gang all on her own, especially if we count S8 where she is flying around like Superman. 🙂
 
Dark Willow and Illyria........now that's a fight I would want to see. 😀
 
I think the scoobies would definitely win. Giles would beat the crap out of Wesley easy, Buffy would take out Angel no problem. Xander and Anya wouldn't even have to lift a finger. Buffy Willow (magic!!!) and Spike would just take care of the rest 🙂

You may, and I emphasize MAY, be overlooking one very important factor: Teamwork. The Scoobies' two super powered fighters, Buffy and Spike, have much more experience working as a team, coordinating their attack, than Angel has with either Connor or Illyria. Buffy and Spike could use a slap and dodge technique, aimed more at distracting the Fang Gang and keeping them off balance than any actual head to head confrontation, with whatever help that Giles, Xander, and Anya could provide, while Willow and Tara, safely under cover, could cook up a spell powerful enough to Swat Angel and his crew like flies. Certainly, there would be casualties, most likely Xander and Anya (Giles hasn't lasted this long without having a few tricks up his sleeves), but the Scoobies, using superior strategy, a carefully coordinated attack, ear plugs to block out Lorne's wail, and the secret weapon of a couple of powerful she witches, just might pull it off. Especially if Angel underestimates his opponents' real power, the way he tends to do occasionally.

Full power Illyria wasn't a member of the Fang Gang. If we count when they were evil, we might as well count Anyanka, so all the Scoobies need to do is for one of them to make a wish that the Fang Gang would lose. 🙂

I gotta go with Angel beating Buffy judging by what both do on their shows later on.

I also think Tara would beat Lorne. She'd send him into a wall or something and he'd be knocked out.

Other than that I think Fang Gang would win. They're stronger (not counting pissed off full power Willow) and they fight dirty.

Illyria was in the final scene fighting beside Angel in the alley. She was part of the Fang Gang.
 
I'd make one change to your confrontations... put Riley instead of Xander against Gunn, that makes more sense. It'd be a more even fight. As for the others...

Buffy vs Angel ~ Simple. 🙂 In the end Buffy would definitely win considering all it takes is for a little piece of wood to go through Angel's heart. 😉

Giles vs Wesley ~ If we're talking about Wesley from S4-S5 of AtS, then he'd beat Giles pretty easily(as long as Giles isn't pumped with magic).

Willow vs Illyria ~ Now this one is hard to decide on, because both of them have changed over the course of time. Illyria was much more powerful before getting drained. Same for Willow when she had turned *dark*. If we put them against each other at their strongest, then I'd have to go with Illyria... She was an Old One after all.

Riley vs Gunn ~ Even though this matchup is closer than Xander(lol) against Gunn, I'd still go with Gunn because he's been fighting ever since he was a kid. On the other hand Riley started late and got his strength and reflexes enhanced by drugs. Also Gunn took care of a dozen vampires in 'Not Fade Away' which is pretty extraordinary for a human. I don't think Riley ever did that aside from the time he used a grenade(but that's cheating!)in that nest. 😉

Anya vs Cordelia ~ Another tough one... Let's say we take Anya in her vengeance demon form and Cordy after she had gotten her half-demon powers, I'd probably go with Anya because she pretty much fought a Slayer(Buffy) one on one while all Cordy really did was heal Connor, kill a bunch of slugs and float in the air(did I forget anything?). 😉 I love Cordy, but I don't think her fighting skills were up to par with demon Anya.

Spike vs Connor ~ This is a weird matchup... Connor's strength has varied throughout AtS. When he first appeared he took down a massive demon with one blow, and almost took down Angel's gang by himself... But later on he had troubles with a few regular vampires, lol. Spike meanwhile has proven again and again that he's pretty much Buffy and Angel's equal. This would definitely be a close one, but I think Spike' experience would win it in the end.

Xander/Tara vs Lorne/Fred ~ I'm not even sure those characters even work in such confrontations, hahaha... They all proved they could defend themselves to some extent, but it's not like they are fighters. I guess I'd go with Xander/Tara because Xander did learn a few things and Tara is a witch after all. Lorne could use his high-pitched voice to stun them I guess, but really I don't think it would matter that much. Fred, meh... She can stake a vamp or two, but that's it.

There are definitely other matchups we could have... Think of Oz in werewolf form, Dawn(lol), Gwen and the Groosalugg were pretty good fighters too.
