So, I watched this movie only because it had Eliza Dushku and Michelle Trachtenberg in it so I was curious...and also shallow.
Man it was weird, I'm not familiar with the comic book it was based on but stylistically I can only assume it kept close to the source.

One monir quibble is that there are some people (placed quite highly in the credits) like Gina Gershon and Sasha Grey who are barely in the damn movie. The come in and then disapprear.

Katie Cassidy (who I disliked a lot on Arrow) was pretty good in the lead role (a woman with multiple-personalities). Weird, unstable and with a nice way with one-liners.

Eliza plays a 'framing' character- a psychologist brought in after the main events of the movie have taken place to 'interview' and find out the truth. Its a pretty small part but she's good in the role, reminds me of a couple of her characters on 'Dollhouse' as the cool, calm professional type. Plus she wears this outfit with a waistcoat...both sharp and sexy. And yes, she still looks gorgeous/ageless.

MT is almost unrecognisable in her role- she turns up kind of late in the movie- but she's also good.

*Spoiler* she plays the baddie, an escaped mental patient with weird fixations and possible superpowers.

Oh, and there's superpowers. Yep, crazy people with superpowers. Like I said its a odd movie with lots of stylistic choices that I presume are influenced by the source material.

I'd give it maybe a 6/10- interesting way to pass the time but nothing special. 🙂

Wow.. Michael Imperioli and Garret Dillahunt are in it too.. might have to check it out even though it sounds alot like Sucker Punch and that is not a good thing.

Micheal Imperioli is the other 'framing' character I think, the cop involved with the interview along with psychologist Eliza (I forget the characters name...) and he's pretty good too.

Garret Dillahunt is really good in it- I mean, his role is weird enough but he acts well throughout. I've always been a fan of his because he's always excellent. 🙂

This is the only reason I watched this movie. lol. I thought Katie Cassidy is good in it, her character is just a little uncomfortable. What did you think of the sex scene? I thought it was super awkward to watch and eyerolling. I keep hearing that Katie Cassidy is not good in 'Arrow', but I thought she was good in 'Supernatural'. Eliza is decent in this role, but she's also not given much to do, since it looks like she filmed all her scenes in one day (although I'm sure it wasn't). And I like her outfit, but I actually think she looks older in this movie. Micheal Imperioli plays a cop well. Garret Dillahunt I had only seen in 'The Last House on the Left' which is a great, creepy movie and he's great, but I recently saw him on that show hes in. And so I think he does a good job here, but yea that sex scene is terrible, I did NOT need to see that. Michelle Trachtenberg, it's nice to see her play a dark character, she was good. And yea I agree about the other characters that pop up for like 2 minutes. Never heard of Sasha Grey but Gina Gershon was wasted. And then you got Ashlynn Yennie running around nude. lol. I agree about the style, it looks like a comic book movie. I think the writer of the comic book was one of the writers on the script. The only thing I didn't like was the way the story was told and it had some pacing issues, but that could just be my ADD. lol

I'm really curious what MT is up to these days...I haven't given up on her potential and I still feel she could break out and go places, even though i've seen precious little of her for awhile. For that alone, I'd watch this movie, to see what she's like now.

Thanks, I hadn't heard of this movie before.

Man, that scene was awkward! Overly stylised with the slow-mo and the weird facial expressions! lol
Maybe that's what sex is like to some people, I don't know, it just looked really fake.

In Arrow CK has the thankless task of playing the 'love interest who ins't actually the love interest yet'- but I really just don't like the character because she's really boring. She's like Lana Lang in 'Smallville' that way.
Also her character is meant to go on to become the new Black Canary, and I just don't see it. Maybe I'll check out S3 and see if she's changed at all.

Agreed. She pretty much there for the aftermath stuff, I liked her few scenes with the sceptical cop though.
Eliza looking older I think was a combination of the stylised filming, her makeup and her outfit. She looks more mature but age-wise she looked like she could do another season of Dollhouse lol.

All I know about MT is that she's had plenty of TV work- something called 'Gossip Girl', a cameo in a few tv shows like 'House' and 'Criminal Minds' and a couple of indie movies. She's being keeping busy which is always a good sign.

Yea, I think it was because it's a comic book movie. But did we really need it in the movie. They couldn't have just done the cut away to them laying in bed afterwards, we still would have gotten the idea that they had sex. I'm surprised sometimes by how graphic actors get with their sex scenes. Eliza surprised me in 'Locked In'.

Yea I agree that it was just the way the character was supposed to look, but she did look older. And yes another season of Dollhouse! lol
