The Seasons in your country..

SO I know I'm old but.... It feels like October today (I want to put the heating on!), I'm sat here in a jumper and my dressing gown I'm so cold. Summer should be untill mid September then and only then should it start to go cold when it rains! Imo anyway. Seasons should stay put, stay in the right months. lol.

Uk seasons should be';

• Spring - March to May.
• Summer - June to August.
• Autumn - September to November.
• Winter - December to February.

So, how do you feel about the seasons in your county (seen as we have people all over the world here) I wanna know??!!!

My interpretation, in Croatia:

Spring - April
Summer - May to September
Autumn - October to December
Winter - January to March

I like bad cloudy weather, kinda cold is a plus.

This is a difficult one for me as i havent yet lived here 2 years and this year is different to last year! I've been told this areas seasons are about a month behind official seasons and I've found that to be true. Much drier over a longer Summer than I expected though, blue skies get boring! I enjoy winter, this year has not been as cold as last year,I dont tend to notice the cold as much as the heat.

Today is Spring-ish. I fantasise about going to live in the bush, until I remember how hot summer is and I need electricty to run the air con and water to drink.


Official aussie seasons are
Summer Dec-Feb
Autumn March-May
Winter June-Aug
Spring Sept-Nov


The transition seasons are really much shorter than the dry, hot season. Our Autumn and Spring days average around 0C- 25C and the rain doesnt really start until July. Summer thunderstorms bring more wind than rain. When it rains in winter, it rains HARD. I got over 60ml in my rain guage after one downpour - insanity! And while it looks good on charts to have high rain numbers, it coming down all at once like that, just causes flash flooding.

Pretty much the same here. My favorites are Spring & (especially) Fall/Autumn.

We have two seasons:

Winter: December to March
Construction: April to November

We are getting new 12" water mains in our area meaning streets are torn up and lawns are dug up where there are fire hydrants. November is typically rainy but it can get snow. It is rare that we don't get a white Christmas but I don't want to think about Christmas yet.

The weather in Ireland has been nuts this year with the Beast from the East in March and the heatwave during the summer. I prefer a mix of coolness and sunshine.

Irish seasons should be:
Spring - February to May
Summer - June to August
Autumn - September to October
Winter - November to January

I'd put (Northern) Canada (there's huge variety of weather even within Canada) as:

Spring: April-May (anywhere from 0-20C, with the occasional -20C why the hell is it snowing and winter again, never mind, now it's 30C what is happening)
Summer: June-August (anywhere from 20-30C, with the occasional oh wow it's now 48C and I think I started melting)
Fall: September-October (so comfy with pretty colours and pumpkin flavoured everything. By far the best)
Winter: November-March (Pretty sure hell has actually frozen over at some point. With the occasional pondering of whether -50 is cold enough to start losing fingers?)

Those sound like Toronto seasons. You know what they say. In England they drive on the left side of the road. In the US they drive on the right side of the road. In the North we drive on what's left of the road.

That's the way it was here in upstate New York when I was younger. In recent years the seasons have gotten unpredictable. Summer is probably a month longer than it used to be and lasts right through September. Spring and fall, instead of being periods of mild temperatures are alternating periods of summer heat and winter weather. A season like May can have snow flurries or temperatures in the 80's. A few years ago, we had the same temperature on Christmas Eve as we had on the Fourth of July.

The average high temperature for today is in the mid-70's, but today it's 92 degrees and humid.

We have had similar anomalies. A few years ago, the January and June meet of the London Vintage Radio Club were at the same temperature, 44F/7C. There is quite a lot of variation from year to year.

Southern CA doesn't have as clear cut of seasons as elsewhere. It's not unusual to have a heat wave in the winter and have temps in the 80's; but its typically 90+ for summer, 70-80's for fall/spring, and 60's for winter. Summer heatwaves have been much more common that last couple years, we had several weeks of 100+ heat this year.

Summer: June gloom, warm July, warmer August (start of fire season)
Fall: Warm September, often warm October, temperate November (fire season through October)
Winter: might dip down to the 60's/high 50's in Dec-Feb, a bit of rain here and there.
Spring: March-May temperate to warm with occasional rain. June gloom often starts early in May.

I live in Denver, Colorado in the states. Our seasons are:

Summer is from about May to mid-September. Our Summers are hot and dry for the most part, but this year it has been wet. Also, we don't have any humidity, so that's nice.

Autumn is from mid to late September to the beginning of December. This is my favorite time of year. It's usually cool but not cold, with occasional warm days.

Winter is from the beginning of December to about mid March, with some overlap. It can get cold and it snows a lot, but the snow usually melts fast because we get a lot of sun in the winter. It can be cold one day to warm the next day if it is sunny, which like I said is often.

Spring is mid-March to about mid-May. Usually it's warm but with cold snaps in between.

I like having four full seasons. I prefer it over a place that never gets snow. Winter is a moody time and I feel more inclined to think deeply and get introspective during that time of year.

In Scotland the seasons can appear all in one day. I prefer variety though I've not lived anywhere else to compare. I can't imagine being in SoCal where the coldest it gets is what? 60F? Good god. I'd need that number halved for a winter I'd enjoy.
