Thanks Mr. Pointy.
It’s great to have everyone tuning into this portion of The Buffies. I’m going to be presenting the Andrew award, which all now is given to the RPG actor. It was some tough competition this year and the nominees all were shining. The nominees are:
Angels baby 101 for her role as Illyria
Spirit_of_Fred for her role as Amy Madison
Lyri for her role as Gwen Raiden
Mesektet Ra for her role as Spike
Buffy Summers for her role as Buffy Summers
Wanabee-slayer for her role as Dawn Summers
Such a great group of talent. All six nominees did a wonderful job bringing their character to life.
And now, the winner is…………
SpikedBuffy reaches into her evening bag to retrieve the envelope
Oh wait. Now where’d I put that envelope? I could’ve sworn I had it.
SpikedBuffy starts looking around the floor, in all the pockets of her bag, eventually turning it upside down, where everything spills out. The audience can hear a few hissed directions from stage left: “Let’s go, let’s go! Find that stupid envelope!” Amid a few receipts, lip glosses and sticky notes, she finally locates the envelope. Standing up, she kicks the items from her bag behind her resumes.
Whoopsies. Sorry about that. Okay, without further ado, I hope, the winner is……………..
Mesektet Ra!
The music swells Unfortunately, Mesektet Ra was unable to be with us this evening. But no Kodak moment can withstand a speech as Andrew taught us in “Chosen” during his impromptu speech before facing the Bringers! So in that grand style, we bring you Mesektet Ra in high definition!
The video fades into the screen. It's Mesektet Ra, sitting on a worn blue/green couch, the Andrew award plaque sitting on her lap.
"Hi," she waves. "It's me, Mesektet Ra. HEY, LYRI! I see you!"
She sighs. "I should probably start by saying that I suck at these things. Sorry if I'm a dork."
She looks up. "Anyway, I'd really like to thank all you guys for voting for me this year. Two years in a row, yo! That's kinda awesome." She adjusts the plaque on her lap and looks a bit sheepish as she glances down at it. "This really means a lot. I really love all you guys. You make me feel LOVED!" She grins, very wide and childish. "But I guess I should start thanking other people. Um...," She cocks her head to the side and thinks for a moment. "I thank all the books I've ever read." Her gaze darts to the screen, eyeing the crowd. "Especially the Buffy ones. Um...I thank my dad, for giving me the gift of storytelling. And I thank James Marsters, for being hot and bringing Spike to life so I could play him." She holds up the award a little. "I guess I did good, huh?" Her smile is sheepish.
"So, here's a little clip of the reason why I won the award." She scratches her neck, avoiding the gaze of the camera. "Thanks, guys. I really mean it."
SpikedBuffy is smiling and nodding her head Yes, yes, thank you James Marsters. Amen!
Congratulations Mesektet Ra! Considering you have been awarded this award twice, we decided to pay a little tribute to your considerable talents. We’ve found a great clip of Mesektet Ra as Spike. Enjoy
The screen fades again to a scene…
Spike rolled his eyes in Faith's direction. "Didn't feel it nessecary. She's been off cavorting, doing the whole Master bit with the minons and the like. Never thought she'd show up here."
He flicked his gaze, and his lighter, to Angel. "Met her once in passing, poof. Doesn't mean I've got the low down on every move the bint makes."
He stopped suddenly, sniffing the air. A small smile played on his face as he turned his gaze towards the door. He darted from his spot on the couch and was there in a second; he poked his head around the corner to find Gwen, looking sheepish and a little bit surprised. A full smile blossomed onto his face for a second before melting into a look of unabashed concern.
He took her by the arm and led her a little ways into the room. "Are you sure you should be up and about right about now? Shouldn't those prattling White Coats be stitching you all right and proper?" He took another calculated sniff of the air - he stopped her, craning his head forward to examine the the white gauze covering the twin puncture marks on her neck. He peeled the tape back slowly, trying not to cause any strain on the wound. The skin was red and puckered as though it was trying to pull itself together; the blood had already clotted. But it still looked deep, and Spike raised a worried eyebrow at her.
He led her the rest of the way into the room, arm hovering along the small of her back. He made vauge shooing motions at Andrew, who scooted with and eye roll, and sat Gwen down. He draped himself in the spot next to her, his arm draped protecively behind her on the couch.
He flicked his lighter open and shut once more, kicking his feet back onto the table. He took all their gazes in turn, and waited for someone to reply.
Thanks everyone and back to you Mr. Pointy!
