The Senior Partners' Purpose

I don't think anyone is trying to suggest that humanity would be perfect without demonic interference, least of all Joss. There has to be a certain amount of evil in us all for the demons to be able to sway us at all. Otherwise, as Holland said, we would all be angels.

All the Senior Partners are trying to do is speed along the process of our destruction.

In buffy series 5 didnt giles say that all other realities walls are pushing against the walls of our reality which supports the earth is the core thoery thingy lol!!!

Why would the Senior Partners even bother? So that demons can reclaim the Earth? What for? What is so special about Earth?

No wonder I was so disappointed with this story arc.

Well firstly because it used to be theirs. Humanity defeated them and eventually forced then into other dimensions but they were here first, so it could be as simple as a territorial issue. They want their planet back simply because they do!

But i tend to think that it is more than that. Demonic life evolved originally on earth and so it is reasonable to assume that they may have some form of link to this world. They may need to eventually return for their own survival, or at the very least they may be more powerful here. There is also the fact that the Old Ones are all still here, that could well be a motivation for them keeping an interest in getting earth back.

Just because we haven't been given the exact reason why they want this realm back so far doesn't mean that there isn't a reason behind their actions. To me it's just a matter of time before the truth is established.

Good Points. Thanks for giving me something to think about.
Well first off the Jossverse/Whedonverse is not real, so therefore I don't think there's any arrogance on the part of the writers. The demons in the Whedonverse are used in many cases to personify human emotions/experiences/vices and through this device the untrained eye could possibly perceive this as human arrogance.

Also, humans have the tendency to be arrogant because they're the only real beings on this earth capable of feeling that emotion.

There are many signs that point to the earthly dimension as being very appealing. There's also the fact that the Demons had to be kicked out of this dimension which would indicate that they didn't want to leave and were as content as a demon could be 🙂

This actually makes sense to me and explains a lot, the apocalypse is just bad things happening to good people in order to lower their standards or remove thier faith ad hope until eventually we bring about the end of the world as we know it so angel was fighting the apocalypse everyday by giving them hope, which is what doyle said his job was in the ver first episode, OMG i actually understand sumthin, how gud am i lol

also an apocylpse in actuality is no more than a end of an era when you get down to it. So assuming that this is the case, then it is safe to say that there are always little apocylpses hanging around.

What the senior partners I think were aiming for was more of a Ragnorok which is what most people think of the apocylpse as being.
