Who are the Serenity Ten?
Firefly isn't just about spaceships and compression coils; out on the Rim, folk learned to get along with nothing. The journey to a newly terraformed border moon would let you settle your land; a horse would help you work it. The Serenity Ten are just the sort of animals you'd need out on the Rim: big, sturdy, reliable and rideable. So, when a large group of rescued draft horses arrived at Lifesavers Wild Horse Rescue, we decided to honor our favorite space western, by naming some of the horses after the characters we know and love.

That's a surprisingly fun read. It's interesting how reading about the horse's personalities bring back the old Firefly memories.

And the poor horsies. 🙁 Wish I had some money to donate, or some room out back to keep one.
