The Shanshu Prophecy

As I've said before (and this is ignoring somewhat ATF) is it expressedly stated that it's going to be a reward? If Angel is to become human, I see no indication why he should be a human demon hybrid or a supernaturally enhanced human.

The thing about being immortal or being human they both come with limitations and advantages so I'm still on the fence as to whether it's a reward or punishment.

His journey as hero, I've always believed should be self defined, independent of rewards and destiny. If he becomes human, the signficance is more or less nil for me, it would just be something that happens.

If/When Angel achieves Shanshu I don't see him doing a lot of fighting. The Shanshu will be at the end of the battle, no more fights, no more struggle just life, and that is the point of Shanshu. You're not just human, you're normal.

I guess the real question with that is, would he be able to do it? Stop fighting evil. It's not like the evil will go away just because one more apocalypse is averted.
