Which dream ships that never happened were your favorites? This is for any and all television series. Which two characters were obviously meant to be,if only those dense writers were thinking instead of dreaming of being on a better paying show 😀

Good question!
Paige and Spinner from DeGrassi:TNG I love Spaige! They were adorable together, mostly I just love Spinner.
Tru and Luc from Tru Calling. I was soo sad the way it ended.

Yes on Paige and Spinner. I was like "WTF?!" when he married Emma!!!
In Avatar: The Last Airbender . . .I always thought that Zuko and Katara would have been great together. 🙂

omg I watched Avatar for the first time a few weeks ago and now I ship Zuko/Katara soooooooo hard :D
Agreed for Zuko and Katara, although I was kind of also shipping Zuko and Toph (remark, I'm not sure how old Toph is suppose to be here).

Fuffy.

Aside from that, I rarely ship couples that do not happen on screen.

Zuko and Toph would be interesting and hilarious!
Fuffy is the obvious one- it was meant to be in my opinion. 🙂 (Hell, maybe it still is...)

Plus, from Farscape Chiana/Jool before the writers chickened out of doing a genuine sci-fi girly couple, and had Chiana get back wth D'Argo. 🙄

Plus, D'Argo/Zhaan, obviously.

Alias- Sydney/Will. She picked some utter douche over 'Bradley frikkin' Cooper'. I would date Bradley Cooper if he ever asked.
(But it would never work, and lead to an ugly break-up 😛)

As I mentioned in another thread, I still get sad that Buffy and Xander never got together. But I do love their friendship so much that it doesn't bother me that bad that it was never made canon, even though SMG and Nick wanted it to be.

However, I do think Fuffy was an obvious miss on the writers' part. Instead of Satsu, if Buffy was going to experiment, it should have been with Faith back in Season 3.

@HisMrs: I know right! I never would have guessed Spinner and Emma. I like Emma with Sean. I don't even remember Spinner and Emma interacting on the show, like only a few times I think. It was just random. But I love Spinner and he was so sweet to her about it.

This might spark some reactions but - River and Jayne from Firefly. Once she was more y'know, mentally okay, obviously. I always kind of thought they would make an interesting pairing.

This makes my brain smile. :)

Knowing Joss, this is was probably distinct possibility. 😉

I actually like the idea a lot, Jayne is probasbly one of the most 'honest' people on the ship, in the sense he speaks his mind, he's proud of being a mercenary/criminal type, isn't particularly bright enough for lots of subtufuge. A lot of that might appeal to a psychic. 🙂

You could see Jayne's character developing into someone worth while. (albeit very slowly)
At the same time River becoming a lot more sane and therefore a possible romantic interest would've been nice to see.

From the old "Highlander" series, I always thought that Methos and Amanda would have made a great couple.

Closer to home, Spike and Faith would be fantastic, and the ensuing cat fight between Faith and Buffy, while Spike stands by just whistling and looking innocent would be truly awe inspiring.

Dawn and Connor, especially if he promised to take her back to his hell dimension and never come back.

How dare you! Dawn deserves a far better fate than that!

I've got to admit, Fuffy was something I would never have thought of without coming to these boards. I give people grief for the non-stop Faith talk but Fuffy would have been hot, I'm not gonna lie!

I can't think of any other shows right now, so I'll try to return to this thread later if ideas occur to me.

Lol, meanwhile I'm like "Connor deserves better than that" ;p
I can't get passed how a platonic relationship between Willow and the vampire Willow could have developed.
I do have a deep intrigue for the doppelganger effect, one such doppelganger that I wanted to see was if Angel and Angelus had become good friends and Angel's doppelganger Angelus had appeared. Those two stood side by side? Sod the first as that would have lit up the screens. But that's just me and doppelgangers.

At one point I really thought Liz and Michael from Roswell would have made an interesting couple.

Mal and Inara.

Liz and Michael, interesting but I think I see what you mean there now that I think of it. It wouldn't have been outside the realm of possibility.

Ah yes, Mal and Inara of course, they're so much together in my head that I forget that they never really were

Agreed about Mal and Inara

Dawn and Conner were on different shows, it was a ship that never was, never mind anything else.

Also, Faith deserves waaay better than a Buffy cast off, and a second class one at that.
Since most of the times these two met they didn't really get along, besides it turns out Faith's matured. 🙂

What ship could be more "never sailed" than one that "never was?"

As for Spike and Faith, I thought thart everyone here had heard my fantasy about that, but, here goes again...

What I want in a Spaith relationship is an almost annoyingly sweet, walking in the park holdind hands, sharing private jokes that no one else has a clue about, giggling and cuddling in the balcony at the movies, one milkshake, two straws sort of romance. The king of relationship where Spike kisses Faith goodnight on the front porch, then walks home whistling a happy tune, thanking whatever gods oversee love for bringing her into his life. No torn clothes or houses being torn down by the animal violence and passion of their coupling. I want them to have a love that brings joy, not shame, the kind of thing that both exasperates everyone around them and fills them with envy.

And you're partially right, but it's Spike who's waaaaay too good for Buffy.

(And now, I just HAVE to slip in an old show tune to highlight my point...

Eat your heart out, Buffy! He could have been all yours, but you let him slip away!!!!!

Aw, what a sweet Spaith vision, I never even considered them but I liked your fantasy on it

A ship that never existed cannot sail. 😉

These two were never on screen together, never spoke of one another, or even knew the other existed.

About your Spaith fantasy, I'll politely refrain from barfing and just opine that I don't see it.
I very much doubt Faith is a closet romantic, (probably because of the complete lack of evidence) or that she would have time for Spike's histrionics. 🙂

Buffy never let Spike 'slip away' that I know of, she was just never that interested. Plus, Spike is the one that didn't contact her after his return from the dead- it could easily be argued that he missed his shot right there.

But, yeah, I'm sure if Buffy turned around tomorrow and said that she desperately needed Spike he'd drop everything to be with her.

Which is the other reason I don't see Spike/Faith happening, he still ain't over Buffy. 😛

On topic: The Good Wife. Brilliant series. Alicia/Kalinda have really great chemistry. If Alicia isn't going to pick her husband, then it should be Kalinda. 🙂

Smallville Lex/Clark. I'm sorry, but isn't this an obvious one?
These two had way more chemistry that Lana.

I think in the case of Dawn/Connor, it's more of a crossover fantasy. It'd be like saying that Dean Winchester and Buffy's ship never sailed. But how could they sail, they've never even met, it's not a plausible ship because of that (although Dawn and Connor are more plausible because they are in the same verse).
