This thread came to my mind because I was intrigued by @dcai0830 's nickname. Why do you chose the nickname you have, there are reasons obviously, so this thread is the perfect place to tell us the truth about it 🙂

My Nickname is Antho. Why ? Well, my name is Anthony and Antho is the diminutive of Anthony and also I didn't want a nicktame too common like a name of a character, I wanted something more personal. Not origininal, I know it but who cares ? 😛

Mine came about when I first joined the BBC Buffy boards back in the mysts of yore........On there you were not allowed to use your name or your initials (anything that could identify you as a person) so I had to come up with something original.
Well, as I was British, male, & a little bit older than most of the other members at the time I decided on something Watcher themed........and as on Buffy, Caleb had just made the Watchers Council go boom I went for 'The Last Watcher' as I figured there wouldn't be too many Watchers left in good old Blighty........

That's it really.....Had the same username ever since, apart from dropping 'The' off the front when I joined here. 🙂
 
The original White Avenger was a Templar Knight Dungeons & Dragons character that I created back in the 70's, and was later the name that I gave my classic P1800 Volvo. Unfortunately, unknown to me, it was also the name of a neofascist comic book character, but, by the time I discovered that, I was just too stubborn, or lazy, to change my name.

This is my idea of what MY White Avenger would look like:

I've loved the AtS S5 episode Smile Time since the first time I watched it. When I started becoming active online (about 12 or so years ago) I used the name Puppet Cancer because of that line from the episode "I do not have puppet cancer!" Then it turned into The Original Puppet, PJ, and eventually was just shortened to Puppet a few years back 🙂

I always thought your nickname was related to the episode "the puppet show" in Buffy season 1
 
Mine was from trying to find an original name that wasn't already taken. I didn't want to be a Bored now!523, or something er other with numbers after. Finally decided on How I Met The Slayer, but that was too many characters. So had to shorten (plus take spaces out). Hence the weird name. Unfortunately I've yet to find a suitable (IE: less dorkish) nickname to go with. 😵

My real name is Marlie and I'm a vampire slayer as well 😀 It's just my go to nickname. Ages ago I've used it for my polyvore and twitter account and now I think I only use it here and on goodreads.

One of the best characters in Buffy was Ethan Raynes and I thought he was the best of rarely seen characters, so I thought Ethan Reigns (king of characters with only four appearances).
 
I have stayed with the Clem avatar because I feel the greatest kinship with Clem.

Sense of humour? Check.
Surrounded by junk food? Check.
Always sociable? Check.
Not one to waste an empty living space? Check.
 
Another reason to like Clem: he was played by an actor who had been trained as an engineer, just like me.

It's laziness for me. That, and I never expected to get that involved with BB. My name is my gmail account name.

As for the gmail account...all I recall clearly before choosing the name I did is that I was frustrated at how many names were already taken, and I don't like adding numbers to names. So I combined two childhood nicknames. One was "Thrasher" because I used to be into skateboarding (and I was both good and it was unusual at the time for a girl to be, though I was dubbed this by other kids who were not into skateboarding), and "Pix" which is short for "pixie" (which my grandmother called me as a child, and also did back in 2011 when I was helping her while she was recovering from a pulmonary embolism).
 
When I was 18 I was heavily involved in a music scene that was prettt wanky. One day I had simply had enough of the gossiping and rumours and backstabbing so avoided anywhere I might see people from that clique. After a couple of months a rumour spread that I was dead. Changed my myspace name to Cait (aintdead), which then became caitaintdead. 12 years later and it seems it has stuck haha. Still use it for my instagram account too.
