The Sims 3.

Since the Sims 3 has been a topic coming up everywhere lately, I thought it was about time I made a thread to discuss it. I've not, as yet, played the game; but I've loved both the Sims and the Sims 2, in the past; I'm just really not sure if it's worth buying. Are there really any differences between the second and third? And if so, what are the main ones? Anyone played it yet & is it good? Since I haven't played it, I don't have a lot to say on the subject, really, but advice on worth it's worth it would help, too.

I also got a copy from somewhere... (sw) It really it looks amazing, although I only have Sims 2 to compare it to. The highest speed seems too slow for me, and I end up waiting so long for them to wake up or come back from work. Maybe it's just my computer.

I really want to play this like, right now. But all the copies I 'find' lying about are taking forever to download. I may have to bite the bullet and buy a legit copy from the EA online store.

I actualy want to try it thanks to everyone not shutting up about it, and I don't even like Sims.

Birdy, it's not just your computer...mine is slow as well when their in sleep/fast forward mode. Perhaps its the copy that we have 😉

I never even had Sims2...But I wan't this third one. I had the old one for ages, but when everyone bought Sims2 I stopped. I felt so old, and poor.

I need The Sims 3 right now. My parents won't let me buy it, and I don't trust downloading games.. I downloaded The Sims 2 before I bought it, and it had so many viruses I needed a new computer. XD

I know what you mean 😉 A copy I 'found' has been downloading for about four hours and still isn't even 50% downloaded. >.<
I'd buy it, but it's too expensive. *Sigh*

I only recently stopped using dial-up, think how long it would have taken me to download it and be happy. 😉

But, I can't be happy. TS3 hates me, already. D: And when downloading it, do you need the Sims 3 store, aswell? Cause that had finished downloading and I accidently deleted it. :/

I have loved the sims since the first one. I wouldnt use sims 2 for a long time because i loved the sims 1 too much. Then i finally went on the sims 2 and got sooo addicted to it. Now i have the sims 3 and all i can say is its awesome! I have been on it non stop since i got it. 😀
I have one family that has ghosts, i decided to leave them on the property and made friends with them, then the little buggars started using my shower and stole my bed, i ask you how is my sims meant to sleep when the ghost have stolen the bed :S lol. But i do love it!

Am I the only one not liking it?
I've played it for about ten hours (no, not ten hours straight, just ten hours) and I'm already bored. Some of the features are pretty cool like the Create-A-Style and the open neighbourhood but that doesn't outweigh that it takes my sims forever to wake up, the ugly sims and other issues I have with the gameplay. Though the scenery is very nice. If you have a good graphics card.
I'll stick with my beloved Sims 2, thank you very much. (sw)

Good thing I "found" a copy lying around somewhere to test it.
