Yeeeeah, not the Slayer we're thinking of.
I went to the library the other day looking for The Hunger Games when another book caught my eye- The Slayer Chronicles. I'm only up to chapter four but oh boy, someone is a Buffy fan. There are certain things that are standing out in similarity.
First of all, the main character's name is Joss. Who attends Summers Elementary school. His thoughts mention 'the powers that be'. The Slayer Society is somewhat similar to the Watcher's Council with the exception that there are many slayers.
The first vampire that Joss encounters before he awakens as a slayer makes his memory somewhat fuzzy- like a "Glory is Ben" moment once he recalls the memory of the vampire.
Maybe I'm over analyzing but with these certain things it seems to be hitting quite home to Buffy references and I think it's too much to be just a coincidence.
Has anyone else read this series? (Apparently there is more than one book)
