The Slayer Line Runs Through Buffy After Bargaining...

Well in a way Buffy was the last guardian of the hellmouth, she helped destroy the hellmouth in Sunnydale that she was guarding for 7 years and was atleast the last slayer to guard that hellmouth.

But just because Buffy is referred to as The slayer, doesnt mean that the line would run through her. Buffy is known as THE Slayer because she is probably the greatest slayer in a few decades. She has faced the worst of the worst, and well the baddest of the baddest, all other slayers(espically Faith) have a lot to stand up against.

No other slayer(from what we know) has ever accomplished the things Buffy has.
 
People what the heck are you talking about? Buffy WAS the hellmouths last guardian because the hellmouth is no longer there. How are you even debating it? The shadowmen knew she was the one guarding it not Faith. That doesn't have anything to do with the line. It just means that she was indeed the last guardian.

Well we do know there are two hellmouths and Giles does mention the Cleveland one in the end of Chosen. Since it's not known exactly how many hellmouths there are in the world, it may be safe to assume that Sunnydales' was obviously the most active at the time and Buffy was that Hellmouth's last guardian.
