The Slayers End

I alays wondered about how everything went down. I know that we knew from Fray that all the magic was gone. But how??

I think I read somewhere that they tried to baish a full blooded demon to the underwolrd, hell or whereever and that how everything gout sucked in there.

Well don't forget, in Fray it says that no Slayer has been called for 200 years, which means the last Slayer of this army died 200 years prior to Fray's calling.

Doesn't say it all happened at once. I figure Season 8 and 9 deal with the "banishing of all demons from the Earth by the mid 21st century" with the Slayers we see now.

After that without a foe to fight, as each Slayer lives out their life and dies of natural causes they aren't replaced. Eventually all the current living Slayers pass on, none left.

I'm not sure it still works the same way now because of the spell at the end of Chosen.

Here's a history-lesson... from the future.

Urkonn: 'It was some hundreds of years ago in the twenty-first century. What we know is this -- There was a battle. A Slayer, possibly with some mystical allies faced an apocalyptic army of demons and when it was done ... There were all gone. All demons, all magicks, banished from this earthly dimension.'
Mel: 'And the Slayer? Did she ..'
Urkonn: 'I do not know if she lived. But the demons being gone, she was the last to be called. The line continued -- there were girls with the power, but they were never called, never trained. Which may be why you have no memories of your heritage. The council of watcher's fell to ruin, held together only by fanatics and fools. Those that believed the demons would return.

There's only one flashback picture that goes with this. The black silhouette is presumably of the Slayer in question, but you can't really make out who it is. It looks like's she's holding a stake in one hand and an axe in the other (it looks a bit like the Scythe, but upon closer inspection it really isn't).

This is all we know about the event SOMEWHERE in the 21st century. Everybody always assumes that it's Buffy and her friends who make this happen. It does indeed seem to tie in with the Twilight-story. However, it could also be that some other Slayer, yet to be born, makes this happen in 2099.

Also, you have to consider the source in this. Urkonn isn't exactly trustworthy. Though, I can't say I know why he'd lie about this.

Fits in perfectly with Twilights mission to "bring the age of magic to an end."

Exactly. I guess thats where I got the idea of the fight with a full blooded demon from.

A spell to force a full blood back to Hell, yeah even the Scythe had to be powerfully imbued with something akin to the essence of pure magic just make it strong enough to Slay full bloods.

Something more powerful could literally rip all the Demonic essence off the face of the Earth maybe even removing that aspect from the Slayers, making them all Human?

The Buffyverse without any sort of magic or supernatural-type forces...is an unusual and slightly dull Buffyverse indeed. :/

Well I don't think thats likely now, creatures with that sort of power tend to leave for other dimensions to suit their increasing powers. Illyria implied that in her day (3 million years ago) all three Senior Partners were corporeal and not all that important either.

Magic may still remain, we don't know if thats related to demonic forces or just an evolutionary step Humans and Demons can both do. There may still be magic and such.

But yeah no Demons, no Vampires, no Slayers because of it. Forcing the Demon side out of a Vampire removes the part of itself keeping the host alive so technically they'd all immediately dust.

From a story stand point its too much of a deus ex machina to use, Season 8 and 9 are going to show us a very tough and violent struggle to remove Demons from the Earth.
