Can you name a song that changed your music world???

For me it was Metallica's 'Unforgiven II',which I first heard in 1998 when I was 12.From that time I started to listen to Metallica,Nirvana,RHCP and Iron Maiden.
Before 'Unfirgive II'...I'm sooo ashamed I listened to polish and american pop(sic!!!),so it was a big change for me and I stick to it to this day...😀

"Pretty Vacant" by the Sex Pistols. Not quite the start of Punk but close enough to make me look at music afresh. It was the route in to stuff by the Clash, the Ramones, Elvis Costello and so on. I never wore the punk uniform but I loved the attitude that gave the rock dinosaurs a kick up the backside. I never gave up on Bowie though - he was one of the few that survived the New Wave intact.
It was 1977 or thereabouts btw - so I guess that makes me a "rock dinosaur" by today's standards. But that's what music should do - alienate your parents. I don't get a lot of today's music but I'm no longer a teenager so it would make me pretty sad if I did pretend to get it 🙂
Keep on rockin' kids.

'Waterbugs'-The Flaming Lips

It just flicked a switch in my brain is the best way I can put it......Made me search out the more 'outre' music I now worship and adore but it always comes back to that song..... 😉

I used to be a BIG R'N'B fan, but Evanescence has changed my taste in music, and thats great, cuz I love this type of music better 😉

um, I dunno. I was always a little of this, little of that....but I've gone more towards rock...I think that was courtesy of Evanescence

I'd have to say Nickleback How You Remind Me. That got me into that type of music, now I'm into Linkin Park and Evanscence!!

Smashing Pumpkins-Siamese Dream album. First album that I heard and then bought as a younger girl. I will always and forever be a hard core SP fan. Will buy anything that Billy Corgan puts out.

I really liked Zwan's only album,'Declarations Of Faith' especially.......

Oh, I luv that one. I listen to it all the time. I heard that they are no more already, but Corgan is going to do some solo stuff?

It's hard just naming one song, but I think I'd have to say NERD - Provider.

Tupac - Dear Mama
and
DMX - I Miss You

Those two songs really threw me iinto loving rap and hip-hop as well. It's my favorite kind of music. Before those songs, I didn't really prefer anything. I hardly listened to music.

It is hard to just pick one...so many awesome songs have done that to me...two that were very intense for me were "Down With the Sickness" by Disturbed and "Thoughtless" by Korn...Oh but then there is "Fear" by Sarah M. and Angry Johnny & Trigger Happy Jack by Poe...And anything by Tori Amos...AHHHH! I can't choose...so many have meant so much!!!

which I first heard in 1998 when I was 12

sweet jesus, I'm older than dirt.

Anyway, for me it was in eighth grade when I first heard Guns N Roses "Welcome to the Jungle"! That song and Love & Rockets "No New Tale To Tell" sent me spiraling down the paths of metal and goth music. Pretty much any music that had an all-black uniform was okay by me! 🙂
Then Nirvana's Nevermind came out my senior year of high school and I was born again as grunge man!! Fortunately this didn't require any radical adjustments. Just added a flannel over my black t-shirt.

"From the cradle to enslave" by Cradle of Filth, i used to listen to korn and the offspring and that sort of thing by that time, and everything changed... i rarely listen to those guys now (CoF), but they changed pretty much everything

Blue Monday by Orgy had a similar effect and so did Punish My Heaven by Dark Tranquillity

I also thought pop was the best then I went to Taiwan over the summer and OMG fell in love with the pop and their hiphop/r&b and I also love Taiwanese music, and some J-pop and J-rock (japan pop/rock) and K-pop (Korean pop music) I guess I like all now exept clasical, countrey and oldies....ergh I cant stand music made before 2000 lol!!
