The song that changed your music-world???

I was in my cousin's car when he started playing rap. I had no idea what rap and hip hop were since most of my family were pretty much against it. Now I listen to hip hop and R&B a lot and also rock.
 
I guess I'm with LazyDolphin in the older than dirt category. There hasn't been one particular song that's changed my musical world but when I was about 12 or 13(in the early 80's) my brother got me hooked on Van Halen and Ozzy and then some new kids moved into my neighborhood with all the KISS albums that had been released at the time. I went through much of the 80's listening to the aforementioned artists and Motley Crue. Poison, Warrant, Cinderella, etc. Then one day one of my friends from school popped in Metallica's Master of Puppets. After about 30 seconds I said "Turn that (expletive) off!" A couple of days later he put it in again and after a couple of minutes I said "Let's listen to something else." The next time he put it in I said "Can I borrow that?" Soon after I was regularly listening to Metallica, Megadeth, and Queensryche, who went on to become my favorite band.

I don't follow the music scene very closely these days but I got hooked on Michelle Branch when she performed "Goodbye to You" on Buffy and back in March I bought the Evanescence cd
Fallen and I listen to it constantly. It's been several years since I heard something I like that much.
 
when i as 15 i started to listen to trisha yearwood!! love her cd: songbook... and matraca berg's cd "sundaymorning til saturday night" and i opened up to the world of coyuntry!

i like alot of different sorts of music! i have like 250 cd and there are alsorts of stuff in there... the first cd i owned was a cd by europe that my mom gave me.. (i was like 10 and i liked the final countdown song LOL... ) but the cd that changed my music world.. hem that is a though one. i guess there is no song in particular! but i can say ths; right now i'm on a bà´a trip.. listening to their cd "the race of a thousad camles" and that cd is sorta different.... i love it 😉 the song duvet is fab!
 
I had two major changes:

The first one was when I was about 12 years old. We went to see Jesus Christ Superstar in school. I was fascinated and started to listen to all kinds of musicals. I still love all that stuff.

The second major change was about 3 years ago when I heard "Sleeping Sun" by Nightwish. I really love soft metal songs now. Nightwish is my favourite band, I could listen to it all day long...

Yeah, I remember when I heard wishmaster the first time, I've been a fan ever since.... I saw them live like 3 weeks ago, it was mind blowing... Nightwish does rule
