I had a quick browse to see if we had a thread like this and I don't think we do but forgive me if I'm wrong.

Anyway, with all of my 'ships across different shows, I'm a huge fan of subtlety. I love the small, subtle moments that are so full of love and if you're aware of my 'ships and know anything about them you'll see why. In the small things we love about Angel thread, Kean brought up the beauty of Angel's departure in Graduation Day and how his eyes speak volumes and that made me want to start this thread.

So, Bangels alike, I ask you: what are you're favourite subtle moments between Buffy and Angel.

I'll share some of mine...

- My all time favourite is in Choices, when Angel is fixing the support rope to Buffy and as the camera moves across, she wraps her arms around his neck.

- When Angel grasps hold of her hand at Joyce's graveside before he says anything.

- The 'dream come true' look in Buffy's eyes when she turns to him see on the pier in IWRY and the look he has as he walks towards her.

So, what moments have made you realise that what Buffy and Angel have is beyond words?

I love the moment when he grasps her hand at Joyce's grave one of my favorites for them in all the series.

Lady, it is most likely I will cease to post in any other thread! :p
*sets up home in this thread*

The subtle moments of Bangel are where I live. They are what make the ship for me.

-My favourite B/A moment of all time is when Buffy asks Angel to tell her he doesn't love her and he just stares at her. That look was filled with more love and passion than any other ship could even hope for. This is my B/A.

- In Surprise, when Buffy comes to see Angel in the morning, there is a quick shot where he is trying to placate her and you just catch a glimpse of her hand underneath his t-shit. To me, that is the sexiest shot of the whole series. The intimacy of the touch, it's just gorgeous.

- In City Of, when Angel calls Buffy at the end and the silence is filled with their theme song. *sigh*

- In Revelations, when Xander spies Buffy and Angel kissing through the window, there's a quick shot where we see Angel smile whilst kissing Buffy. You'd miss it if you weren't looking for it. We rarely see how Buffy and Angel move each other, that little shot is one of my favourites of when we do.

- "It's Buffy". For me, that last scene of Angel S2 is thrilling as B/A fan. You can almost feel his heart sinking. It's tangible. They could have really overdone Angel's reaction to Buffy dying but it so perfect, so sparse, that it did exactly what it was needed: filled those last few seconds so completely with Buffy that you could feel her there. And this forced you to feel Angel's loss all the more, because you knew that she wasn't there. Would never be there again. Oh, I could marry this scene.

I'll be back with more 😛

I have now watched the beginning of Surprise 5 times in a row but I didn't see no hands under any t-shirts. Where did you see that?
- My all time favourite is in Choices, when Angel is fixing the support rope to Buffy and as the camera moves across, she wraps her arms around his neck.

That's one of my favorites too!

- The little moment in IWRY after the Moihra demon attacks and Buffy and Angel end up on the floor together. The awkward, tense moment, before getting up is golden.

- The looks on both of their faces at the end of Reptile Boy after Angel suggest they should have coffee and Buffy walks away

- Oh and when he picks a piece of hay from her hair in Halloween. Her excited/nervous reaction is adorable.

- When she touches his face in the church in WML Pt.2

I was just coming here to say that. Have two people ever looked more in love? Hint: No.

Lol, aah cause I needed the visual aid 😉 I always swoon at the morning scene in Surprise

Yay for the picture! I was just trying to find it on youtube. Was suprised I couldn't! Every single LP scene is on youtube but there's like NO Buffy/Angel. Weird.

- Not really a moment between the two of them, but brushed over a bit I find: at the end of The Zeppo when someone (Oz possibly) asks if Angel is okay and she says: "he was only out for a minute, longest minute of my life" - or something to that effect.

- When Buffy rushes to his side after he's fought the demon in 'The Dark Age'.

- Angel's smile when Buffy wakes up next to him in The Prom.

I was just coming here to say that. Have two people ever looked more in love? Hint: No.

That's one of my favourite Bangel moments.. it's just so.. beautiful.

Also, in Becoming Pt 2, when he says he feels like he haven't seen her in months, she makes this face.. you can just see how much she's hurting. And when he says 'I love you' for the last time before she stabs him.. you can see all the love she has in her eyes.

In Pangs when Angel pulls Willow aside in the Espresso Pump, he's trying to be all business like and insisting he doesn't have time for personal stuff and he looks across the coffee shop and see's Buffy flirty-talking with Riley. He totally changes his tune and implores Willow to tell him "Who's that guy". The look on his face, he's so bothered, it's adorkable.

The look on Angel's face when Doyle is 'recounting' his life story in ''City of...'' and mentions 'the girl'... he's so tightly-wound, repressing emotions though it looks like it's killing him.

The way Angel looks at sleeping Buffy in IWRY when Doyle comes to get him and ask if he wants to wake Buffy up. "Not for anything in the world"

The look on Buffy's face when Angel tells her to keep his leather jacket s1. 🙂

In The Prom, when Angel arrives and they start dancing, they do this thing where they look at each other, really looking into each other's eyes. They go back to dancing and then they do the gazing thing again. Like what they are communicating could never be articulated. Oh, this is all amplified by how frickin tiny Buffy's hands are in Angel's. It's all just so yum.

Hey, I'm allowed to post here right? I did ship them, once upon a time. There's a very small thing I wanna mention.

I think it looks so sweet when they're sorta lying together in the cemetery at the end scene of Choices and she rests her head on his chest. It's cause of the height thing. She's so small, he's really big. It just looks kinda cute. 😀

Oh and when she freaks out over him maybe being hurt in Surprise. I just think it's really romantic when someone worries about their friend/lover's safety.

Its been mentioned before but in The Prom when Angel is watching Buffy sleep. That little smile on his face says so much about his feelings towards Buffy.

In Suprise, when Buffy kisses Angel's claddagh ring.

In Angel, after him and Buffy kiss and it shows where the cross necklace he gave her burned his chest.

The smirk on Angels face in The Yoko Factor when he walks past Riley to talk to Buffy out in the hall. That smirk says sooo much!

Buffy wearing Angels leather jacket in Season 1.

- When she touches his face in the church in WML Pt.2

Anytime she touches his face! (& she does that a lot!). Seriously I don't want to do any comparing, but when they kiss they are so happy to be together. Unlike...some other relationships in the Buffyverse.

I know this is more a funny rather than romantic moment, but I love this in Earshot:
Angel: Be careful with this gift. A lot of things that seem strong and good and powerful, they can be painful.
Buffy: Like say, immortality?
Angel: Exactly, I'm dying to get rid of that.
Buffy: Funny.
Angel: I'm a funny guy.

Buffy watching Angel lying on the floor in "Beauty and the Beasts".

Which reminds me, Angel falling to his knees and wrapping his arms around her waist and sobbing her name over and over. And then we see Buffy with that single tear. They kill me!

"I'm talking about watching my lover die".

Buffy watching Angel do Tai Chi, you can actually see her falling in love with him all over again.

This brings me to an overall comment on S3. After what happened in the previous season it wouldn't be very normal to expect Buffy and Angel to want to have nothing to do with each other, or to be estranged. What thrills me as a B/A fan throughout this season is that they somehow feel more in love than they ever were before. It feels deeper. More intense. And this is so bittersweet because just as their love has deepened, so too has the divides that ultimately force them to separate.

This whole post makes me want to cry!
I told you I would spam this thread...

"When I killed him, Angel was cured. Your spell worked at the last minute, Will. I was about to take him out, and, um... something went through him... and he was Angel again. He-he didn't remember anything that he'd done. He just held me. Um, but i-it was... it was too late, and I, I had to. So I, I told him that I loved him... and I kissed him... and I killed him."

The way she delivers this speech, it's like she is reliving it again. Especially the lines "He just held me"-she sounds so lost, and also, "I had too"-like she is really hard to convince herself, not just Willow, that she had to do it. *sob*

In The Bachelor Party, when Doyle picks up Angel's book and a picture of Buffy falls out. The look on Angel's face when Doyle says "Buffy?" shows the pain and sadness he feels when they are apart.

"Becoming part 2" always makes me sob like a baby. Then "Full of Grace" in the background. That does the trick for me. And its matching effect twin, "I will Remember you" that also makes me sob because of SMG's amazing acting and her "Oh, god, there's not enough time!". It breaks my heart.

I'm sure I'll be back with more later, but this is one of my favorites and I haven't seen it mentioned so far. It's that one part in "Enemies" while he's still pretending to be Angelus. When she's unconscious and he's chaining her up, it's only for a second, but he gives her this look of pure adoration, and it's the only time his Angelus façade slips. I remember watching that episode a few years ago with two friends who'd never seen it before, and they both had major "hey, wait a minute..." faces there.
