The Tara/Willow union

Is it just me or does Tara seem to be pushing this relationship more than Willow?
I've made it to "This year's girl" and everytime the two have a scene, Willow comes off as the one that is the weaker of the two while Tara is more wanting of the Willow...
Is that right?
I guess I'll find out soon. Perhaps it's Willow's recent deal with Oz that made her accept anyone with remote concerns about what she (Willow) likes.

Maybe that's my psycho babble coming through.

It was kind of that way, I mean there is that line where Tara says something like "I know about them (Her friends) and they don't about know me", But don't forget Willow was new to the whole being attracted to women, Tara has been gay for a while longer than Willow
 
Yeah I got the same impression at the beginning that Tara was coming on much stronger than Willow was....but once they got together they both seemed to give equally in the relationship.

I have to agree that it was probably just due to the fact that Tara knew she was gay and Willow had never been with a woman before so it was all new to her and the process was a little slower.
 
I totally agree. I think that Tara, already being gay and all, knew what she was into and Willow was experiencing it for the first time.....I dont make since, do i?
 
I think that was an obvious thing anyway...what with the argument they have in 'Tough Love', where Tara is worried that Willow is just seeing their relationship as an experiment, while she is serious. She was out longer than Willow too.
 
I'm not sure if it was Tara coming on strong, opposed to her already being gay and all and knowing, understanding, in a sense, what she was doing, what was going on (heh, I hope that made sense. Made more sense in my head). As previously stated, Willow was just getting used to this new experience, just realizing and accepting her new...attraction. 🙂

Yeah that's true....I think if Tara had been a guy then it would have been perceived a little differently.
 
This may sound kinda batty, but...
Once Willow accepts she gay, does she kick herself for not attempting to hook up with Buffy?
She would be much more comfortable with Buffy as opposed to another girl...ya know being that they have been together for at least four years where as Tara is new in Willow's life.

Or is sharing the same dorm room with the Buffster good enough?
Why wouldn't Willow move into Tara's room...or do they and I have not gotten to that point yet?

[Just various questions that came to mind...]

I don't think Willow would ever look at Buffy that way. They're bestfriends...like family...it would be like dating your sister. Icky.
 
Lol yea definitely icky. Seriously, I am so glad there wasn't ever anything like that between Buffy and Willow. It's so obvious they're just bestfriends.
 
Yes! That's a really gross (and bad) idea! And I think that Willow moving into Tara's room would be a bit fast...I mean sharing with Buffy is OK, because they're only friends, but it would be the same as moving into Oz's room otherwise. Just too fast for them having only just met.
 
i think that tara had been out longer and all the feelings willow was having was just way to new and oz having had left i mean it is easy to understand why it was hard for willow but i don't think tara came on stronger i mean like i said she was gay longer but still tara was really shy and she just couldn't be very agressive one way or another....later on when they were together it seemed like they were an equal partnership...and back to the whole tara saying that the scoobies didn't know her...u can't blame her for wanting willow to possibly idk this might be my perseptive but so that willow is comfortable with their realationship if her friends r okay with it.

I do think that maybe Tara came on stronger to Willow than the other way aruond in the beginning. But as someone else pointed out it might have been due to the fact that Tara had probably been attracted to women before Willow whereas Willow had not.

I think that Willow was mainly looking for a friend in Tara, through the magics, and just happened to find real (romantic) love there and that's how it developed.
 
Also isnt it said by Willow that the reason she doesnt want to tell the scoobies about her is that 'its nice to have something thats just hers.' Or something like that. It was said in a nice way, not as controlling as it looks when you read it lol.

That was at least part of the reason she was apprehensive about telling her friends.
 
you really can't blame her for not telling her friends at first...and when they are talking in taras dorm and the whole "its nice to have thats just mine" and then later tara sayd she is hers awww... maybe willow just wasn't ready and liked having that "closet" realationship with her at first then later she comes out.
 
it's understandable that it' was difficult for willow to tell her friends about tara and their relationship because they always knew her as heterosexual (with oz as a boyfriend) and her new attraction to a girl could seems a bit weird to them.she was probably afraid of their reaction.
moreover willow liked the secret side of her relationship with tara.probably because that way there was less pressure.there were just her and tara...

i think that willow found out she was gay because she was attracted to tara. if there had been any attraction between her and buffy, she wouldve realized it and come out earlier, because eventually she would understand how she was having weird feelings about buffy. although they're great friends buffy and willow DO NOT have the same kind of (romantic) connection willow and tara do. therefore, she'd never feel attracted to buffy and would see no reason to "kick herself". she has buffy, as a friend, and that's all they both want. not to mention buffy is not gay, so it couldnt work anyway. i know this didnt need proving, but im really bored right now.
 
I think that in the beginning, Tara has feelings for Willow, but I never saw her as coming on strong. I think she was a bit SHY about it, actually. I do agree that it took Willow a bit longer to come to terms with her feelings, which is totally understandable, when questioning ones sexuality is involved. However, once they get together, it is OBVIOUS that this is THE ONE for both of them. Just look at Willow's reaction to what happens at the end of season 6....I think they loved each other, genuinely and completely.
