I love this episode and I've seen it a lot of times, but it's firsst now that I have actually started to think about the things surrounding the episode. It's not important or anything, but it's interesting to speculate about.

Who sired Xander and Willow and in what order?

How did Buffy get the scar she had?

Why did Giles stay in Sunnydale and not move to Cleveland?

Who was her watcher in Cleveland?

What happened to Anya after Cordelia left her in the end? How did she deal with her sudden mortality (I think that could have been really funny to see)?

I really agree with the sudden mortality thing, god it must have been So hard for Anya.

I Always thought the master sired Xander and/or Willow. If not both, I'm guessing the one who got sired sired the other one..

And Giles.. I feel so sorry for him in the Wish-reality. He's so .. pathetic? Heh..

The only thing that really intrigued me in THE WISH, is that Buffy still died at the hands of the Master. So anyway you put it, that Prophecy was sealed in stone.

Maybe there are Watchers stationed all around the world, we know this from S7 as there are many Watchers that train potentials?

Although I bet Cleveland always has a stationed Watcher just in case, since it is a Hellmouth after all.

Odd thing is though, the other Watchers in the Wish didn't know that Sunnydale was located on a Hellmouth. So it really was Angel who clarified it all.

It's events like that when we really see how important the Scoobies were to Buffy's job as a slayer.

It'd be funny if Buffy's watcher in Cleveland was Wesley 🙂

My speculation is that Willow & Xander might have been turned during the Harvest, possibly by Luke or even Darla.

It would have been hystarical if Wesley was Buffy's watcher lol. I agree Xander and Willow were probably turned during The Harvest, it makes sense.

I've always belived The Master sired Xander and Willow and thats why he treated them so dearly. Or maybe he sired just Willow and she sired Xander? Or maybe it was just random vampires?

It really broke my heart to see Willow and Xander vamped up in The Wish. Did no one else feel like this at first?

But we know that Buffy was suppose to come to Sunnydale, thats why Giles was there so he could meet her. But something ended up side tracking that and she got sent to cleaveland with another watcher where she didnt make any friends and who knows what happened to Joyce.

And other things we didnt get to see in the wish:
Where was Darla?
Where was Jesse
Where was Principale Flutie?
And ofcourse where was Luke?

Darla and Luke were the Masters right hand men at the time and seemed they wouldnt leave him atleast Luke did. Ofcourse it can always be speculated that sometime after Willow and Xander got turned(probably by the same vampires who almost turned them in Welcome To The Hellmouth/The Harvest) they ended up stabing Darla and Luke in the back litterly, and killed them to take their places by the Masters side.

Another thing to wonder about:

Who was called after Buffy died? Was it Kendra? Or Faith? Or Kennedy? Or some other potential slayer we had/hadn't seen?

This is exactly why the Wish is such a great episode, it lets us postulate all this stuff. I'd imagine that Will and Xander were sired during the Harvest, and we know that Angel tried to stop it, but failed. But perhaps he managed to kill Darla, and maybe Luke at a later point.

Have to agree.

I guess the Harvest's the most probable time for Will and Xander being sired, but still it's kinda hard to imagine that the Master or anyone else would turn two such nobodies. I mean mainly they just feed and the Master did need more strength, so why not just feed?
Perhaps Jessie did got turned by Darla (or ws it the Master or Luke) and in return he sired Xander who sired Willow.

The lack of Darla and Luke is perhaps the biggest question mark of them all.

There's no point trying to follow the storyline of Welcome to the Hellmouth or Harvest because Buffy never showed up. The only reason Willow was caught in the first place was because of Buffy. But Buffy wasn't there.

Jessie probably turned Xander and Willow. At the Bronze Luke was taking humans purely as food, so I doubt they would have been sired there.

But then that's assuming Jessie was ever turned in the first place. Because again he was only made a vampire to be bait for the Slayer. Jessie was more than likely taken down to the Master by Darla and killed as food as he would have been if not for his link to Buffy.

I think that either Willow or Xander got turned accidentally and then the other one turned the whoever was left.

Mayhap Darla took a liking to Xander, he's a fetching fellow. Then she also sired Jesse. Then she wanted to have a threesome. Xander don't play that way so he staked Jesse. Then he sired Willow so they could have the good kind of threesome. Then Darla got too clingy so he staked her.

Ha, I think you're imagining yourself in that situation. =D

Oh I like that idea. 😀

I think Willow was sired on the night she was taken from the Bronze in the first eps - however, it's the whole 'seize the day' thing from Buffy that made her talk to him which makes more confusion...

Assuming that she talked to him anyway, she should have been sired that night. Jesse too. Maybe Xander staked Jesse before he was sired by Willow? Could make sense. This is still assuming all the events in those two eps would have happened regardless of Buffy.

I have rather extensive views on all of this.

I like that theory but Willow staked Darla cause she wanted Xander all to herself that or they tied Darla up somewhere and she is sex pet.

i reckon Willow sired Xander cus they are like Spike and Dru in a way, and i think the master sired Willow because he saw how awesome she was 😀

I didn't like the way they were mean to angel :frown_blu

Buffy's watcher was probably Merrick, or maybe she didnt have one because Giles was meant to be it.

I think Giles stayed to protect Sunnydale because it was more active and he probably knew about Buffy at the other one.

(cool fact for this ep - Willow said to Xander (when he throws match at Angel) To be carful not to set her hair on fire, this is a reference to a film Alison Hannigan did where her hair get set on fire. Thought that might interest you if you didn't know!)

I don't think Merrick would have been her Watcher. If I remember the film correctly
Merrick was killed

Beat me to it :D
Yes in the movie, Merrick was killed by Lothos. If this is from the 1992 movie, is it really a spoiler? 😀

I just put it in spoilers for those members who still haven't seen the movie and want to ;)
Buffy had a watcher, since isnt that who Giles talked to in The WIsh when he was trying to contact her in Cleaveland?

Yup, the phone conversation between Giles and her current wishverse watcher led us to believe that she was in Cleveland due to the demonic activity present there.

I don't about any of you but the one burning question I had in that episode was where was Faith...?

If Angel went to Sunnydale to wait for Buffy, why didn't he leave after he realized she wasn't showing up...?
