The title of the show

I like the name Slayer. Like 'Angel', it's serious.

But, I totally get why Joss named it the way he did. The show was based on turning that dumb blonde girl who always dies in horror movies into a empowering blonde woman who can kick ass 😀

Oh, that's why the didn't name Angel "Angel the ensouled vampire" or "Angel the handsome vampire".

I prefer "Buffy the vampire slayer". You can call it for short "Buffy" and it sounds original and easy to remember.

If the show was called Slayer I would think it's a horror show, with heads being cut off, blood everywhere and many massacres. And if I hear Slayer I need to think of that band. I don't think it's a good idea.

Ya I like the shows name. But if I had to try and choose another one, Supernatural or True Blood (even though those names are already taken) wouldve worked. Or The Vampire Slayer, or Chosen all couldve worked as well.

"Chosen" would've been a good title! I think Sunnydale might have also worked. I think the biggest/only problem with the actual title is that some people thought/think it's about a Vampire who Slays as opposed to a Human who Slays Vampires 😛.

Really? And how intelligent were/are these people LOL? I do like the other 2 options, although Sunnydale sounds a little like Smallville.

Don't know, my favorite criticism was Angel's first big review bashed the fact that no one ever mentioned why there are all of these demons in Los Angeles. It's funny because 1.) In the Buffyverse, demons seem to be everywhere, and 2.) Literally, the first lines spoken in the show mention that demons are drawn to LA like a beacon for "all sorts of reasons."

By the way, don't forget that Buffy predated Smallville by a bit 😉
