The Top Five Scariest Episodes in TV History

I figured Killed By Death would be on there.
That episode is the only one that's ever scared me.
I was watching it at one in the morning. Der Kindestod's laugh creeped me out. The Gentlemen weren't scary at all. To me anyway.
 
Neat list, Hush is frightening. The first time we see the Gentlemen in action is truly disturbing stuff. Love seeing Home from The X Files there, although I think the list misses out in not having the original version of Salem's Lot. There's a scene in it featuring a young vampire boy floating outside a window, beckoning his brother to open it, that is truly frightening, but nice seeing our man Joss featuring on another "all time great" list.
 
Good list, though I have to disagree with "It" being on it. The movie didn't scare me at all. Might have been becasue I read the book.

"Hush" is the episode I use to introduce people to the Buffyverse, if for no other reason than for the acting in the episode.
 
'Hush' is probably the scariest episode of Buffy in my eyes. Just the look of 'The Gentlemen' and the inabilty to cry for help is a really scary thought.

But no 'Blink' from Doctor Who? Maybe it's just my mind but I am completely terrified of all stone statues now and ALWAYS keep one eye on them when walking past them. Yay for quantum lock.

ha, when i was like 7 me and my friend were freaked out watching it,
i look back and LOL......
 
It's interesting how different things are scary to people. Hush is a great episode, but it never really scared me at all. For me it's the ghost episodes that reall get me, like Conversations with Dead People, or even I Only Have Eyes for You, and, if we include Angel, Room With a View (I know it's written differently, but I can never remember how you shortcut the words).

I'm not really surprised Home (the X-Files episode) got in first - it has something really eerie. And I think for me this is the same eerie as is important for the scary Buffy episodes: I don't really believe in monsters, but I haven't discarted the belief in ghosts yet, so for all I know, it could be real. And that's the most scary you can on TV imo, take real-life scares and let them confirm your initial fear.
 
I never thought of the shows as scary. In a psychological thriller way, several episodes might fit the bill, but in terms of horror-type... Hush and Hell Bound are creepy, and great...

Agreed.

Honestly, "Fear, Itself" sort of scared me... until the end, of course. 😛
