Aside from her slayer-centered stuff, what do you think is the turning point for Buffy in her life?
 
I think after she was killed by The Master, Just becasue it was such a huge part of her life, and I mean the fact that she died, not the whole master thing!
 
I think the turning point in her life is all those times that she died. Everytime she died, she came back different. Either strong or depressed.
 
Ok I swear that poll wasn't there before, lol. From the list on the pole I would choose her mom's death!
 
I personally believe the biggest turning point of Buffy's life was that time between the Movie and Season 1.
Being activated changed her from the air head to a woman with purpose, and the Parental divorce gave her a vulnerability to counter the possible security that the Slayer Powers could have infused.
All those other points, to me werent turning points, infact no point is a turning point, just a fork in the path of life.
 
I didn't see the post before sorry. I'd say her mom's death. Because that's when she had to grow up and take charge of everything.
 
I would suggest in a poll like this you give the 'other' option cause by only allowing the four choices, you are imposing your ideas on people.....other WITH an explanation, such as mine, gives us a fair chance to show what WE believe.
 
I also think Joyces death. It made Buffy turn into a parent like figure for Dawn, go and gget a job, and just grow up. This was her MAIN turning point, in my opinion.
 
I don't think you can possibly pinpoint THE turning point in someone's life. A lot of stuff happened to Buffy, and it all added up to make the kind of person she became.
 
Yeah, all of the choices, plus other things, changed her in some way. Killing Angel, for example, changed her. Made her give up. Then meeting Lily in LA changed her. MAde her realise she cant run away. So much in her life changes her. If she'd taken a different path, things would work out so much differently. The chaos theory (or butterfly effect)
 
I couldn't vote. As said, I think it's a culmination of events that result in a 'turning point' in one's life. And also, which turning point are we talking about? There were so many in Buffy's life... .being called, dying many times, dealing with constant death around her, her mother's death, the constant love and lose, etc,etc....

Too many. They all had their effect on her.

Well the obvious turning point isn't ON the list"¦
watching the sign fall into the crater in the finale scene of Chosen"¦ it was the first day of the rest of her life. The day she got to be a normal girl.
 
I think her moms death... I think that is one of the hardest things, losing your mum, because when my mum lost her mum it was so hard for her, for all of us. And i can imagine what Buffy was going through. Also I agree with Buffys death being a turning point in her life as well... she came back differently...
 
Like everyone else said, I think that there were a combination of things that forced Buffy to mature.

I did, however, see a very big change in her after her mom died so I voted based on that.
 
This is a hard question but I'm going with Joyce's death. She had to get accustomed to the fact that her mother wasn't going to be there anymore to help her through stuff, to talk too...to take care of them. Buffy had to quickly adjust to things and fit into the role of "super mom" to take care of Dawn and save the world from a hell god at the same time. It must have been very overwhelming and what a disturbing way to find out your mom is dead...that was just very sad...and it was disturbing.

So, yes...Joyce's death was probably the turning point in Buffy's life (also most traumatizing)
