How can they be Scoobies? They're not friends with the gang, they're just like the Slayers we hear about the most

girlfriends and boyfriends of scoobies usually get full affiliation - Think Oz, Cordelia, Tara, Anya, Reilly. So if renee and Xander are an item now that would explain that but Satsu, i think you're right - just the new slayers we hear the most about (which leads me to wonder if she has a pivitol role to play in the story say as a traitor????)

None of those were ever Scoobies imo, just tag alongs

I've always thought Oz, Cordelia, Anya, Tara, Riley, Spike, Angel and Dawn to be Scoobies along side with the Core Four.

Xander tells Cordelia in What's My Line, "if you wanna be part of the Scooby Gang...." which means that anyone helping the gang save the world and sticking around with Buffy, Xander, Willow and Giles is part of the Scoobies.
