And Wesley is not underrated! What the hell, he's a fan favorite!

And I'm disappointed Fuffy isn't an option. And if Parker is there, Satsu should definitely be there.

Well there were many that didn't surprise me, but others did a lot. Also, I think Buzzfeed has a different idea of "underrated" than I do, because I certainly wouldn't consider Wesley, Jonathon, Jenny or Drusilla underrated.

Once again, I found myself stumped by the lack of a "none of the above" option for "Who do you ship Buffy with?"

I'd hazard a guess that your average viewer doesn't read the comics and only take the show into account.
 
Second best character from the original Scooby gang ( only 2% less than Buffy! ) couple with most feels, greatest big bad, second greatest minor villain - holy shit wow people really do love Willow! Awesome! You hear that comic writers? Give us more Willow damn it, at least feature her on the covers more often or something. Also, they really do not like Riley - hardly surprising, I must say. The Willow and Kennedy is also interesting - 0% with 94 votes - that's more Willow/Kennedy fans than I'd ever suspect.

That surprised my too. But I don't mind it. I love Anya. Especially in the beginning (season 4).

Random comments on the Poll.

1. Spike just kicked some serious Angel butt!😛

2. Season 4 got a bit of rough deal.

3. My vote for best recurring female was close between Cordy and Faith. In the end voted Faith because of the impact she has upon her return and the depth ED brings to the part.

4. Can't believe that Andrew beat Wes and Jonathan to most underrated male!🙄 But nice to see Queen Dru reign supreme as female😎

5. Man Dawn gets a bad rap from fans! She's not that bad. Now "GET OUT! GET OUT! GET OUTTTT!"😀
oh and why is Snyder even on that list? Just don't get that one.

6. Dark Willow was a surprise winning best big bad.

7. I guess Tara and Joyce's death had the biggest impacts but I do have a soft spot for Jenny's just because of the context of it and how unexpected it was.
 
Anya's popularity does not surprise me at all. Faith is in only 20 episodes, Anya is in over 4 times as many (85) Screen time is really, really important.

I don't see that as any kind of argument. Either you like a character or you don't. If you dislike that character then them being more episodes is just going to make you dislike them more. I just never thought that Anya had that bigger connection with the audience. I like her but I do think she suffers from being a Cordy substitute simply because she could never live up to that.
 
Come to think of it, is my definition of a recurring character wrong? I hear that and I think recurring guest star; in it fairly regularly but not credited as a main cast member... which would only really apply to Tara an Faith in that list.

Yeah, I think your definition is wrong. It's basically someone that is not a titular character and one that does not appear in every episode, but is in enough of them to affect and at times be the focus of the storyline. There is a difference between a guest star and a recurring character. A guest star is usually a temporary basis whereas a recurring character could span the entirety of the series.
 
This was an interesting poll. Looks like it's addressed to the casual Buffy watchers. Maybe haven't seen every episode or season. Some of the results were surprising. Andrew is underrated? No, I think he is rated just fine, doesn't do much, and slightly annoying only used for comedic purposes. Wesley is not underrated just underappreciated on Buffy because he's new and has to compete with Giles as watcher. And Dawn being least favorite supports my theory of these are average viewers voting cause clearly there were there were other characters on the list that are worse than Dawn.

Dark Willow being the big bad is interesting. Glory and Angelus tied and the First beating out the Mayor. It's like the voters only saw the last 3 seasons. lol. Which might explain why Angel lost to Spike (talking to you @Mr Trick )lol.

I think I'm with you. I wouldn't consider Spike and Anya as a recurring character, because once they are in the credits, they stay there.

Oh that's a shame because I agreed with just about everything else from your post😛 Stop making excuses for your boy Angel. Spike kicked his arse because he is by far the more interesting character, Masters is the better actor, and Spike is the better lover for Buffy!😉

Yeah Mayor should have been up there for Big Bads.

If Faith would have had more screen time, she probably would have been my favorite 😛
(This is the main reason why characters like Spike, Willow and AtS Cordy rank above Faith for me)
