So I managed to get all three of these for Christmas, and I just finished the last of them. Has anyone else ever read these? They were written by Nancy Holder & Jeff Mariotte.

In my opinion, they were extremely well-written, and it truely felt like I was reading the script for an episode finale for an season of Buffy or Angel. The characters all "felt" like themselves, and there was some great dialouge.

I agree, these books were very well written (Nancy Holder is one of the best Btvs) authors and when I read these (years ago) I was very fond of them and the characters portrayal.

(Only recently did I get rid of them - by giving them to a younger Buffy fan 🙂 - as I felt the writing was a bit too 'young adult' for me right now. That said they're certainly worth to read and well-thought out 🙂)

I haven't read them in a long time and in fact can't even find my copies now but I do remember thinking they were among the best and most 'realistic' of all of the books along with the Gatekeeper Trilogy.

I started reading these. I never finished them but they were very good.

I've just finished re-reading the first book The Burning. The opening scene with Willow wanting to buy an outfit that would mean she later couldnt buy books for school seems a little out of character to me. Also her thinking that the monster at the beginning was Oz seemed a little bit random. Other than that I think all the characters are written really well. The storyline seems a little bit busy in the first book, especially with the connections not being clear yet but I think its good because it gives the characters something to do.

I also noticed that the girl Kayley mentions Laurell Hamilton books and then later Buffy introduces herself to the Echo Park gang as Anita, who in Hamilton's book series is a vampire hunter.

I'm just about to re-read book two 🙂
