The vahla ha’nesh times
April 2012
The April-tastic time in Vahla Ha’nesh has come to an end and we’re moving on to having it may-derful. Time sure does fly! After a rough time at the main board the staff has decided to temporarly close the dorms. We’re all looking forward to the dorms glorious return, but in the meantime VH spirit lives. Let’s take this opportunity to spread it around the boards and make new friends! Now, let’s recap the great times we had together in the month that past as well as looking forward to what’s to come.
Our old friend the sorting tome was especially kind to us this month and honoured us with not one but two new members. With no relation that they know of - [MENTION=11828]Jod[/MENTION] and [MENTION=11853]Jodast[/MENTION],we’re so happy to have you! It feels like you both has been with us a lot longer than a month, which is a great sign of us enjoying your company and considering you both to be very valued member of our dorm! :heart:
In other member news April offered lots of fun stuff. Several of us went to see Titanic in 3D and Cabin in the woods and enjoyed both, we ate lots of candy over easter and visited family when we had a few days off.
The activities in our dorm was also in full bloom, as it should be come spring! The months theme was Virtual Home, playing on the idea that we consider VH our online family. Besides sporting lovely banners made by our very talented artists we also talked about what we like about our dorm and if we have other places on the internet like it. We also started a decorating thread, where we decorated our dorm and talked about all the rooms that are in it. It may be hard to believe, but as [MENTION=8013]Washburne[/MENTION] pointed out, VH kind of looks like a kindergarten. Who knew? 😀 Here’s a sneak peak of one of our beds that [MENTION=10823]Bexieh[/MENTION] brought in:

April was also the month that we had our annual Vahla Ha’nesh awards ceremony. Voting started april 1st and a week later a wide variety of members had been nominated for the 18 prices that was announced. The ceremony was held april 15th and hosted by This Year’s Girl and Taake.

Lots of members showed up and we had so much fun with handing out awards, listening to great performances (by among others the BB radio peeps Tome, NY state of mind and kittenpoker), riding unicorns and killing bears (don’t ask 😀), announcing a surprise award and catching a certain someone that shall remain nameless (let’s just say that her name starts with Ta. Or, no, let’s say that her name ends with ake. But I will not tell you who it is!) making out with Clem backstage. Here’s the full list of winners:

With such a great april, is it even possible that the may-nderful month that lies before us can top that? Of course it can!
In may BB is having a board wide theme with focus on Buffy boards appreciation. A lot of people has already gotten involved and started making banners and strips. To join the festivities and grab one of your own, visit the “Board wide may theme”-thread and check out peoples art threads around the board. After last months Virtual Home theme this is a great way to continue on the love! :heart:
If you’re missing the Vahla Ha’nesh lounge and all the random and fun talks we have in there you can also swing by the lounge/common room/tea bar thread in the school section. It works exactly the same just with more and fun new people in it! Highly recommended!
And now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for: Time to announce the vahla ha’nesh member of the month! After an idea by the fantastic [MENTION=9799]Taake[/MENTION] we have decided to instead of voting for one of our own dormies broaden our perspective a little. So, I am very proud to announce that the vahla ha’nesh HONOURARY member of the month may 2012 is: :flower: [MENTION=10299]xfivebyfive[/MENTION] :flower:
You’re such a sweet and wonderful person Katie and we’re very happy to welcome you to the dorm for tea and cookies any time you want! :heart: Just as a regular vahla ha'nesh member of the month you’re awarded with a great pieces of art made by one of our talented members (this time the excellent [MENTION=8356]HisMrs[/MENTION]):

Whenever someone wins member of the month in our dorm we also open up an interview thread to shine the spotlight on them a little extra.
