I was reading a Buffy/Angel magazine and it mentioned that Doyle was able to withstand the trauma of the visions because he was part demon.
This article also says Cordy got the visions as well, but she couldn't handle it because she was fully human. Is that right?

If so, why would the PTB allow Cordy to get these visions (or at the very least allow Doyle to pass them on to her) if the visions were going to be fatal to her?

Why not allow the visions to go to Angel directly (and yes, minus the Doyle kissing Angel part).

Have you watched all of angel yet? Cuz most of this does get explained, Yes the visions were to much for Cordy to Handel as a human, they would have eventually blown out the back of her head(We should still regard that as true and not a lie of Jasmin(Is it Jasmyn?), right?) Which is why she becomes part demon, Is it possible Jasmin had something to do with Cordelia getting the visions? Or the kiss was a loop hole?

Yes, particularly take note of the S3 episode "Birthday"
Well for a start, i always got the impression that the PTB's didn't actually have a say in Cordy receiving the Visions, that it was because no one could have forseen that Doyle actually loved her and that he would sacrifice himself for the greater good.

I do believe that Cordy was in serious trouble and that the Visions were killing her and that only a half demon could at least live with them, but after that there is too much speculation as to how much of it was affected by Jasmine and Skip.

I only have season one for Angel on DVD but I have seen the later episodes through TNT cable network.

From what I remember, Jasmine? is the kid of Cordy and Angel's son, conner.
I just don't quite see how a kid that will not arrive for a few years (Jas.) has any bearing on the events of the first year. Heck, Conner wasn't even there yet.

Yeah Jasmine has been orchestrating her decent into the word for years, It's possible she was responsible for the snow falling in season 3 of Buffy, Which saved angel and would eventually lead to the birth of Angel. the writers are very tricky like that they can link different things in seasons together!

Honestly, you need 4 years worth of story explaining and reexplaining to truly understand.
For instance Connor is not Cordelia and Angels son, he is Darla and Angels...and that takes an age(or two seasons at least) to explain.
Honestly you should either visit a transcript and/or synopsis site or purchase the DVD's cause none of ANY of what is said will make sense to someone who has no clue

Al's right. we can't explain four seasons worth of story lines in just a few posts.
but what i will say is that the PTB's could not have stopped Doyle giving his visions to Cordelia because it was love that made the transfer possible...am i right? not even the PTB's can fight that.

also, as another explination, it was probably Jasmine who made the transfer possible. she WAS a PTB, afterall, and, as stated above, she was planning to make her way to earth for YEARS before she actually got there...she knew that she was going to need Cordy to get her there and therefore, allowed the visions to be passed to her, knowing that she couldn't handle them because she was human, and would therefore have to become part demon, paving the way for Jasmine.

did that make sense?

Yep well said :)
I agree with what everyone has said so far. If someone wants a quick explanation they should watch the season 4 episode "Inside Out". Skip pretty much explains everything in that one.

yeah it's pretty much all in "Inside Out" and in "Birthday". It really just depends what you want to believe.
In 'Birthday' it is said that Cordy wasn't supposed 2 get the visions, she was supposed 2 be a superstar, but the PTBs hadn't known Doyle's love for her would pass the visions over.
In 'Inside Out' it's said that Jasmine (a PTB at the time) had planned to come to earth for years before Cordy had gotten the visions. She claimed to have arranged for Cordy to even get the visions from Doyle. She also claimed to have made Angel and Darla have sex and for Angel to 'win' a new life for Darla (in 'The Trial'), but instead of saving her own life, it made Connor's. Being responsible for Cordy getting the visions, turned out in Jasmine also being responsible for making Cordy part demon. This is when she became more powerful, and in a few months, she became a 'higher being', where she was hi-jacked by Jasmine and came back down to earth.

I hope that that made sense I kinda like to ramble a little lol.
