The Walking Dead - Season 3 Discussion (possible spoilers)

Next week's episode just looks intense. Like it could be intense the entire length of the show. Every sneak peak and clip they have shown is just the trio on the run from walkers. I don't know if the writer's have adapted a system of late with every other episode is extremely intense and the others are very progressive.. Speaking of writers, I don't know if the writers realized how dirty they were going to make the cast stranded at the prison. I know they are supposed to be living rough, comparative to the city, who have nicer things. If water, or showers aren't addressed this season, I bet they will be in the next season.

I didn't care much for last night's episode... It was painfully slow for me. :\ However, I know not all the episodes can be action-packed and full of crazy plot twists. 😉

Did anyone else feel like Tyrese's wife (sorry, can't remember her name) seems suspicious of Woodbury and The Governor, after learning of his interest in the prison? Maybe I was reading too much into her facial expressions and body language, but it seems like she caught on when she immediately started asking questions about the layout of the prison and stuff. I hope to God they don't tell them about the big gaping hole on the backside!!! 🙁

There's only 5 episodes left! Sunday is a one-shot with Rick, Carl, and Michonne (finally! I've been waiting for Michonne/Rick and Carl/Rick bonding), so what's next? Straight-up war for 4 episodes in a row!?

I picked up on it too. I'm fairly certain they will tell him about the break in the prison walls but I see her trying to change Tyrese's mind about going to war with The Governor. I could even see her and Andrea forming an alliance of sorts. While Andrea couldn't kill him last night, I think by series end she will be the one to do it. Though the question remains how many people will we lose while she gets to the point where she can take him out. I think the father and son with Tyrese have very good chances of not making it, and I keep getting this feeling that Merle is going to find himself in a position to redeem himself a bit, something he doesn't come back from.

I enjoy the show, but from a practical standpoint, they have an even bigger death wish this season than they had in Season 1. They live in what SHOULD be the perfect secure base, and they make no effort whatsoever to repair or block off the areas that have been damaged and allow access from the outside, they don't try to clean up their own living quarter or, apparently, even bathe on a semi regular basis.

And if they don't start recruiting some new members pretty soon, normal attrition is going to destroy them before the Governor ever gets the chance to do it.

Totally agree. I understand why Rick and the group would be wary of strangers given the situation but it does seem silly and illogical to throw able-bodied people out and refuse to accept new people coming into the group. Especially now when their group numbers have dwindled and they could use the help; not only with protecting their group but also with basic survival needs like going of supply and food runs etc.

I know, Morgan had a nice setup going on.

One thing I think is a little far fetched is how close Morgan's little set up is to the prison, and therefor Woodbury also, and yet it hasn't been overrun by the Mayor. I would expect him to send out supply groups to canvas the surrounding area for possible threats as well as supply's.

THANK YOU! I said that to a guy at work the other day. They made it seem like Rick had traveled so far from his home, and it's like he's just down the street now!

I REALLY loved this week's ep!! I was so beyond excited to see Morgan, but sad that he's gone completely batshit nuts. I agree; they should say "F Woodbury" and go back to Rick's hometown. Morgan had that place locked down!

The whole, old town being down the road thing, was bonkers, they made a huge deal about him travelling to Atlanta(I think?) in season 1, then the CDC, how are they so close??

Also it's only been a year is that right? I hadn't realised that till Rick said it!

Going back to Rick's home town might seen like a good idea, but it remains basically an open area, difficult to defend or keep walkers out of. The prison is potentially more easily defended, or at least could be made so with less effort. The problem is, both places are just too big to be defended by that small a group. They should be using their time of relative, though temporary, shelter at the prison to procure at least a couple of good sized trucks and forage the area for canned food, weapons, fuel, medical supplies, and just about anything else that isn't nailed down that might ever have any possible use.

This isn't some temporary difficulty, where the Power Company is going to restore service in just a few days, or the Postal workers are going to come back off strike next Tuesday. Rick and his little band can't expect help, EVER, and they need to be facing that fact and making plans for the long haul. Right now, all that they're doing is playing scavenger. Eventually, all of the canned food is going to run out, and game is going to be scarce, if not totally nonexistent. They need gardens, livestock, and to basically become a self sustaining unit. And, most importantly, they need NEW MEMBERS. As small a group as they are, no matter how loyal and dedicated, simply can't exist for very long against the kind of predators, living and zombie, that they have already encountered, let alone the roving gangs that almost certainly would exist in a situation like that.

YES! I also thought it was totally odd that they seemed to have travelled so far but now Rick's home town is like right there! haha.

I really enjoyed the latest episode. I loved seeing Morgan, I always wanted to know what happened to him and his son. It made me really sad to see he had turned into a nutbar and his son had died though 🙁

I also liked seeing Michonne lighten up a bit. Maybe she will actually turn out to be likeable.

Did anyone else think Carl was going back to their old house for something? I swore when he started trying to go off on his own that he was trying to go get something for Judith at their old house. 🙂

I thought that too....I guess it was just the picture he wanted. If I was that close to my home I'd go back for clean clothes lol.

Yup thought that too...though we know Lori took all the photo albums from there

Didn't some of Morgan's scribbles say that their house had burned down or something? I swear Carl saw that so that is why he decided to go and get that photo because it was the last one left.....maybe I'm just imagining things, haha.

I saw that, too... But I thought maybe Carl had it in his head that he was gonna go see, anyway. The picture was a sweet gesture though... Although it really bothered me that we're supposed to believe all those people hung out in that restaurant long enough to die there. WTF... The cook even still had her uniform there!

Ah, okay I get ya 🙂 Yeah, that makes sense that maybe he would want to go see the house anyway.

Haha! I didn't notice that about the cook's uniform or anything. I might have to watch it again. I was all distracted, my evil evil puppy kept stealing couch cushions. So I was trying to watch while chasing him. Little furry bastard 😉

If anyone watched The Talking Dead (immediately right after The Walking Dead) they had Eliza Dushku has one of their special guests.

Do any of you guys watch The Talking Dead? Its like watching likable celebrities laugh and joke about the show right after an hour of intense television, haha. I enjoy it anyways 🙂

Last nights episode was great. While it couldn't match last week's episode (I don't know if many will) it was defiantly needed. The story progressed a lot. It set up the finale that is coming. Finally Glenn and Maggie got back together. It put things all on the table for both sides, and even switch-hitter Andrea, lol.
