I'll debate some more on this later, when I'm not trying to study for my Western Civ. exam, but this is what I wanna say for right now:

My view of the war is as so:
Yay no more Saddam - he's a bad man despite the lack of weapons of mass destruction found.
Now get the hell out and concentrate on the country's problems and let the U.N. handle the rebuilding of Iraq.

Cause I can tell you one thing, the information you all are fed with is not at all the same as we here in Europe are.
I mean, you're all living this Bush vs Saddam mania and we're watching it from a safe distance, sort of like watching a reality show.
It sometimes feels like everything is so black/white over there. I don't know if any of you have seen Michlael Mooore's movies or agree with his take on all of this, but I do. I can't say much cause I'm not from the US and none of my relatives over there are/have been in Iraq. But I really felt with that mom who'd lost his son. I was crying and getting all emotional att the end of the movie.
I think this whole war was just stupid. Most wars are stupid but this really won 'the most stupid war' award.
I don't like Bush and I don't like his politics. But again, this is only an angry european's take on it.

I remember right before the war started when we had this big demonstrations against the war and against Bush.. And it was like "will he do it..?" And we didn't want to think he was going to but then he did..
I very much against the war, it's pointless..

The Iraq intervention is wrong on so many levels.
Let's forget the whole oil thing and the whole WMD thing.
1.- The US have no right to act as world police.
2.- Saddam may have been a dictator. His people weren't under the best regime. But if you want to free a country and bring democracy and whatnot, do so with one that desperately needs it, like Somalia, I mean they don't even have a recognized government and warlords run the country in three different regions. Trust me, 100000 times worse than Iraq under Saddam.
3.- Just don't believe the whole freeing of Iraq thing. They never cared about that.
4.- Sure, Saddam did some atrocities. But if you want to depose governments because of the atrocities they commit, then the Bush administration should be prosecuted just because of 9/11. Under death penalty.
5.- It's just a coincidence that Saddam's capture coincided with the signing of the orwellian Domestic Security Enactment Act and because of it there was no media coverage. Just a coincidence. Pff.

I think, YAY no more Saddam. But were the reasons for going in there right in the first place? Saddam was no threat to any of us really, it was Osama and his crew! It was all about the oil I tell you!

I really don't see how civil war and anarchy is any better then dictatorship. At least Saddams regime had law and order.

If you're going to use the word anarchy, use it correctly. It has nothing to do with civil war nor chaos and what's currently happening in Iraq is not even remotely related to anarchy. Know your concepts before you use them.
