The WB *might* pick ANGEL up for a 6th season

This is marvellous news and I am gaining more hope that Angel will return, but it is The WB we are talking about here.
 
City of Angels is a rumour mill, and they're usually false. This is the third time this month I've seen obviously false rumours come out of City of Angels.

It's unlikely the ratings will increase in the last month. It would be unreasonable to expect them to, and anyway the ratings have never been the problem. Angel is one of Warner Bros top-rated shows. It's ratings are definitely better than Charmed, but Charmed is staying.

And "Pleas massing over the 2 million mark"? Did anyone stop to think what that means? The largest Save Angel petition right now is I believe at 75,000 signatures. So we've got about 1,925,000 signatures left to go. Does that sound likely to you?

I hope this wasn't all just a joke, and I was the one dumb enough to take it serious. I hate it when that happens, so I'm only going to say this: The story doesn't make sense. It's a rumour, or a joke. That doesn't mean by some miracle Warner Bros won't re-sign Angel, but it will have nothing to do with this City of Angels rumour.
 
Nerd, Charmed is always more watched than Angel. Angel is usually the least watched drama on the WB however, it is the #2 more watched in the 18-49 male key demo, after Smallville.

Actually no, it's not. That used to be true but this year the ratings look pretty close. Angel does on occasion shade Charmed out this year ratings wise. I hate these ratings arguements, because it all depends on how you organize the numbers, but here's what I get:

Please post your reference for Angel being the least watched drama on the WB this season. Sorry, but at this point I don't believe it.

You seem to want to debate this, so I assume that means you're a City of Angel fan. Very Well, I'll also assume that makes COA an acceptable reference then. Here's something I copied from it a while ago.

I'm sorry about not finding the source about the source about Angel being the second most watched show in the 18-49 male key demo but I spent lime half an hour on it. The news came a few weeks ago and I'm sure an Angel here read it. It you did, please say so.

BTW, thecharmedones.com is not reliable with ratings...

That's OK, we're in agreement about that one. I would still like to see your reference to the February information though. I showed you mine.

What you're showing me so far is an interpretation of Neilsen ratings either you created, or acquired somewhere from someone else's interpretation.

Can you please direct me to the source material. No offense but interpretations, are just interpretations. They mean nothing. I mean take a look at yours and mine. Two interpretations of what we're told are neilsen numbers, but they seem to justify opposite conclusions.

You know I'm not sure any of this matters anyway. It's just bickering over numbers. We could be here all year doing that.

My point is the ratings for Angel have drastically improved in 2004. It's going to take some real fancy number organizing to disprove that. Seriously though, why bother. Everyone knows the ratings for Angel have improved. It's common knowledge in the Angel fan community.

Warner Brothers should be pumping their fists in the air and going "Whoot, whoot, whoot". They were prepared to re-sign Angel with the ratings from last year. They should now be preparing to give Mutant Enemy a raise, instead they cancel the series. I'm going to conclude from that ratings aren't a factor in Warner's decision whether or not Angel gets signed. Please show me where my logic is faulty.

Honestly, I don't have to time nor the interest to go trough websites to looks for actual facts.
However, the overnight ratings and and the fast national are not the most important ratings. The Total viewship is.

What do you mean about the February thing?

So if Angels ratings have radically improved and Warner Bros canceled it, how can I take a rumour seriously that says improved ratings are the condition under which WB will re-sign the series?
 
It sucks but even though Angel improved it is still "arguably" the less watched drama of the WB and the network have to create place for new shows. I know that cancelling Angel is not the solution because they should just scrap 1 hour of their 2 mostly bad comedies night in order to let Angel live otherwise I suspect next fall shows will be as bad as this year Tarzan and One Tree Hill.
