After Angel was cancelled there was an interview with Alias/Lost producer JJ Abrams where he confessed to being a Joss Whedon fan. He informed us he was planning to take advantage of all the whedonverse talent that was floating around after the demise of ATS and BTVS.
He immediately hired writer/producers Jeff Bell, Drew Goddard for Alias, and David Fury for Lost.
Recently he's made additions to the cast of Alias - Amy Acker, and the star of Tim Minears's The Inside, Rachel Nichols.

And now there's Rob Thomas with Veronica Mars hiring every one from Charisma Carpenter to Alyson Hannigan to Joss himself. I don't know what it all means, if anything, but it's pretty interesting I think.
