The Wish - Interesting Facts

I absolutely love this episode. It's one of my favourites and such a great bit of television. I don't really find it depressing so much as I find it non-specifically emotional. It really touches me with the funny beginning and then the interesting specs of the bizarro world and then the awful, doomed, hopeless fight and the bittersweet end ('because it has to be'). Then once we get back to the proper Buffyverse, the ending is really cute and funny.

Oh yeah, and Giles is totally hawt with his Season 2 glasses and his stubble and that sexy jumper (the like of which he only ever wore in like 2 episodes before season 4).

I love this episdoe, also just watched this on my current rewatch....

I love the moment towards the end, with the slow motion and music when Buffy and Master are approaching eachother and they push everyone infront of them to the side as they move closer - CLASSIC..

Plus love the quote...

Angel "So what's the plan?"
Buffy (giving him a stake) Don't fall on this"

Also this quote made me laugh...

Angel: The Master rose. He let me live... to punish me. I kept hopin' maybe you'd come. My destiny...
Buffy: Is this a get-in-my-pants thing? You guys in Sunnydale talk like I'm the second coming

And the moment when Angel gets staked, holds his hand out to Buffy and says, "Buffy" but Buffy doesnt even bat an eyelid and just walks through it!!!

I loved the concept. I watched this episode last night. I do love the fact that Willow and Xander were vamps and I was thinking to myself I wonder who turned them, was it the Master or did Spike make an appearance? (But I believe the Master or the others did that). It would have been cool though to see Spike somehow in this episode but probably wouldn't fit though.

Wishverse Buffy was awesome!! Not much different to the Buffy we know in this universe 🙂 If there was no Angel, I reckon she would have been more straight forward with the slaying and vamps. 🙂

Haha, I LOVE Seth Green in that movie. He's such a comedic genius lol
 
I really like the episode, but something that bothered me a little was the fact that Darla, luke, and Jesse were not featured in anyway.

I think Angel killed Darla and Luke after The Master rose. Although, it would've been cool to see them.
 
This thread shows what I love about this episode: it's so cerebral. You think so much about how things turned out the way they did.

My fanon is that Jesse turned Xander who pulled an Angelus and tortured Willow before turning her. I personally think Willow killed Darla to eliminate competition and Jesse was staked when Angel attempted a jail break.

How Harmony had survived, however, is beyond.

Something I always wondered about the alternate timeline - did Spike and Dru show up in Sunnydale, or did they just avoid it knowing it was controlled by the Master?

How about the Mayor - was he working with the Master, biding his time until his own ascension, or did the Master simply kill him when he took power?

Xander torturing Willow is not pleasant imagery. 🙁

Buffy's attitude was a lot more negative than it was when she first came to Sunnydale. And the fact that she died in that alternate universe...maybe that means she gets her strength from her friends. 😛
 
[MENTION=11829]Jaeger[/MENTION] - Well Dru would have still been injured in Prague so they probably would have made their way to the hell mouth eventually... now rather or not someone staked their cute butts the first time he called the master "Bat face" is anyone's guess. But really they wouldn't make sense there... (I can't believe I'm saying this) the wishverse might have been too establishment. It's like Spike and Dark/Vamp!Willow can't be on the same continent at the same time.

Yes that's something I thought about too, Was Oz with Nancy, or did Larry have the hots for Oz.
It is strange to watch this and not think, 'hey, Larry's gay...what's he doing with Oz?'.
I suppose he was just friends with Nancy and the White Hats formed. I'm Damned interested to know how they all got together though.

The Wish is in my top 3 favorite eps, It's beautifully haunting, I wish they delved into more alternative realities in the show, I mean who here doesn't love 'Normal Again' as well?

Question: Can anyone reccommend any good Canon or Non-Canon books that have been published that expand upon the wishverse? I'd like to give them a read!
