The Wish - What happened?

The Wishverse isn't opposite land, white avenger. Cordy's wish didn't change anyone's personality, it just changed one past circumstance, which snowballed and resulted in a very different present day. Wishversse Buffy is the way she is because the last couple of years have been very different for her than they should have been. Her parents might be dead, she doesn't have friends like Willow and Xander--she might not even have any friends at all--, she doesn't have Angel, and her relationship with her Watcher is obviously very different from the one she should have had with Giles. Just as they've shaped everyone else into different people than the ones we're used to, the different circumstances have shaped her into the irritable, apathetic girl who shows up in Sunnydale two years too late.

It really makes you appreciate the role the the Scoobies play for Buffy - without such a loving, strong, support system, she really would have been hardened into this apathetic girl. It was sad to see. I can't remember which episode it was, but towards the end of it, Xander, Buffy, and Willow are discussing what their lives would have been like without Buffy and they comment Xander would have fallen to Ms. French and been killed and Willow would have still had a robot boyfriend. Little did they know!

I don't think Jenny was ever even sent to Sunnydale in the Wishverse, because she was only there to watch Angel after there had been warning signs--meaning, after he and Buffy had met. With Buffy in Cleveland and Angel locked up and getting tortured regularly, there's nothing to worry about, curse-wise.

See, and this is one of the reasons why I wish we got to explore more of Jenny's character. I took the whole "watching Angel" gig as something the family had kept up the whole time, since Angel had gotten a soul. They wanted to make sure he stayed miserable. So I took it that someone was always keeping tabs on him and when we meet Angel in season 1, Jenny was just the next person doing it. And in the Wish universe, she would have followed him to Sunnydale regardless if Buffy was there because she was still following him.

But at the same time, if you think in the actual timeline they sent Jenny specifically because he and Buffy started falling for each other, than I'd agree, there would have been no point for her to be sent in the Wish universe. But I think it was the former because if Jenny was sent specifically because of Buffy and Angel, it was probably after the events of "Angel" because that's when things between them got legit. And in the very next episode Jenny is introduced and she isn't treated like a new teacher (and I base that off of the fact that she seems to already have a rapport with Willow, Buffy, and Giles to an extent which would indicate she wasn't new).
