No thread on this ep yet?? I am missing Saturn5's Ep by Eps in this season. 🙁

I just watched this one last night, and I do love it. Riley and Angel's little spats are very entertaining - gotta love when they play Mr. Macho with each other. Angel was kind of a butthead in this one and Riley was quite stubborn. I loved their fight scene!

I also enjoyed Buffy and Riley talking in her dorm room and talking things out. I just think they are so cute together, and Riley just adores her. Closest Buffy comes so far to telling Riley she loves him:

Riley: Because I'm so in love with you, I can't thing straight.
Buffy: Tell me about it.

The end part always annoys me, because they are like little grade schoolers arguing. Um, none of them thought to say "Hey, I never said that. Who told you that I said that?" I would have been pretty annoyed if I was Buffy, too.

I'll end with a funny. I never realized how much these lines made me crack up until last night. Hubby thought I was nuts again:

Willow (fighting with Buffy): We have to face it, you can't handle Tara being my girlfriend.
Xander (to Buffy and Willow): No! It was bad before that! Since you two went off to college and forgot about me. Just left me in the basement to "” Tara's your girlfriend?
Giles (from upstairs): Bloody hell!

BAHAHAHA!

I agree, I always get so frustrated watching the fight scene, I just wanna pause it and say, "Guys! Cut it out! Just ask if the person said that and this whole thing could be avoided!!" But it's worth it to see a drunk Giles and Xander say "fighting pants" the way he does. It always cracks me up!

Hahahaha. Fighting pants.
I think some of saturn5's threads got deleted during the re-boot last summer, because some are missing.

As for this episode, I love it! I love that look Angel gives Riley as he walks out of the room with Buffy ("ha-ha!"). They're so childish in this ep that they're adorable. Riley: "I'm staying right here, I'm not moving a muscle".

That last fight is hilarious- drunk Giles is classic!

I absolutely love this episode, Spike is such a bitch in this 😀

And yeah, I always thought "Why don't they even deny saying those things? That would be the first thing I'd do if someone was accusing me of saying something I didn't say"

It's an episode where Spike pretends to be out of breath and nobody notices how incredibly obvious and needless lie that is. So yes, I don't think we are supposed to think too much about it. 🙂

By far my favourite scene is the one with Willow, Tara and Miss Kitty Fantastico:

Willow: Oh. I keep thinking "Okay, that's the cutest thing ever," and then she does something cuter and completely resets the whole scale.

Aw, Miss Kitty Fantastico was impossibly cute!

I love this part, Spike is both stupid and smart.

PassionBecoming agrees: Ugh, that Spike heavy-breathing thing annoyed the crap out of me!

To me it's not that it's annoying, but the fact that it's already fake because vampires can't breathe!

Yes, the vampires not breathing thing is what makes it so annoying!
This episode is probably my fave out of Season 4... Not only do we get some awesome Riley/Angel action, but some of the funniest lines/moments out of the show.... My fave? this:

Xander: Uh-huh. But maybe that all changes when I'm doing sit-ups over at Fort Dix?

Giles almost chokes on his drink.

Giles: Fort Dix?

He bursts out in a wheezing laugh. The three of them stare at him.

To be honest, when I first watched the episode I was cheering Angel on just because for some reason I had to hate Riley because everybody hated him. Now when I think about it, Angel was completely out of line in the episode. So freaking petty. Didn't he leave Buffy so she could be a normal girl and date normal guys? I'm completely on Riley's team now and think the whole thing was unfair to him.

I love this episode!!!!! I do kind of want to knock all their heads together and make them ask eachother questions!!! Why did they all listen to spike anyway?! Why would they believe spike haha.

I love it tho, its so funny.

I agree! I mean, I get it. Angel still loves Buffy, and if it were different circumstances, they would be together. But he made a choice, to leave her so she could find someone else who can give her the life he can't, which is what she did, and she tells him so when she visits LA. Angel totally antagonizes Riley like a child and of course, Riley's reaction isn't too much better, but imagine his situation - he's already feeling a little insecure about things with Buffy because of Angel, and he trashed him in that fight. I'm not like, a big R/B shipper, but I do feel like Riley gets a lot of undeserved crap only because he's not Angel.

It's weird too, I know Angel can have an immature streak to him at times, but he definitely seemed petty in this episode, I don't like how they did that to the character of Angel. A drawback of the ep IMO.

I agree with everything, except I kinda like seeing Angel all petty and jealous. :)
Given my raging obsession with Giles, it's only natural that I would love this ep.

First, Giles singing! What's not to love? And I LOVE the way he gives a start and squeals when he sees Spike. I swear ASH is so freaking talented as a singer and an actor.

Then the way Spike plays Giles, and Giles finally reaches for the bottle.

And, of course, drunken Giles. "You never train with me anymore. He's going to kick your ass."

"Ah, no, I'm no Alfred, sir, you forget: Alfred had a job."

"Are you drunk?" "Yes, quite a bit actually."

If you watch closely when the others are talking, he also gives the funniest look to Anya when she finally leaves the room.

And then the way he misses the chair and falls. And goes upstairs, throwing his sweater back down on Xander.

This is one of my favorite episodes.
