the youth of...well...anywhere [warning]

Has anyone noticed that there is something wrong with the youth of, well, mostly anywhere? Children (2-9) are beginning to say and do things that they have no clue what it means or does. Here's an example: I went to get my hair cut today. (it looks very good by the way) While I was getting my hair cut a father and his two daughters came in. They daughters were probably either 2 or 3 years old. One daughter sat int he chair where the other one wanted too and the other girl lost it. (keep in mind a 2 year old says this) "you 'f'ing (blank)sucker! i'm going to 'f'ing kill you! you b****!" and then the father comes in with, "hey! you shut the 'f' up! i'm going to slap the s*** outta you when we get home!" I said to the barbor, "oh looks. there's a prostitute in the making." because one of the girls was wearing a mini-mini skirt and a fishnet top. A TWO YEAR OLD!

Ok, I'm not a perfect young adult. I curse and do bad thing sometimes, but age really does make a difference. Five year olds came up to me one time and challenged me to a fight and I was like, "are you kidding me?" It seems that a lot of young children are beginning to act like the adults you see in the Sopranos. It's just really weird.
 
You have to be pretty careful what you say around little kids, or they will repeat it. I guess kids seem to be less sheltered than they were before, but I'm not sure if that's a good thing. When I was teaching kindergarteners, I had to keep asking them not to spoilthe plots of movies that I wanted to go see, and these were rated PG13 and R.

In psych we learned how children's morals aren't as developed as they will be when they're older, so they probably don't see the bad connotations of the things they're picking up. That's why people tell you not to talk about certain things or swear around little kids.
 
Well, it's like that with everything that has to do with kids these days. How children dress these days, how small girls are aware of their bodies. How everyone starts doing everything earlier, like smoking, drinking, having sex..
I'm tellin' ya, there's really only one answer to all the this, and it's right [thread=18949]here[/thread].

Ok, do that please, just don't take it too seriously. It' the solution but I know it's not realistic..
I've so noticed that too...the kid down the street from me who's like 7 is always cursing at his friend calling him a mother f***er and things like that...and I asked him if he even knew what what he said meant...and he said "No...but my Dad says it."
 
I have noticed that kids are trying to act older, but they aren't. I know these 2nd graders that are trying to act older then they really are, by saying "bad" words and wearing clothes that a 10th grader would wear.

Of course, I am way beyond not perfect, because I swear too much and I am a very violent person. But the weird thing is, is that a stupid little 8 year old, picked up a plastic bat, and said that he wanted to fight me for a sled that we use for a shield. I was holding a metal pole and I looked at his plastic bat and said no way. I knew I would beat him. he wouldn't So I kicked him and he ran away. That shows 2 things: A little kid trying to act like he was tougher then me, and me acting older and "violent".

Again, that is children trying to act older then they really are. My friend said that her 2nd grade neighbor had "sex". I said that's gross and children shouldn't be doing that kind of stuff.

I rest my case.
 
Yea. I can attest to that. My boyfriends little brother, who's around 10 [he's turning 11 on the 28th. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOEY!], hangs out with some kids like that. I few years ago we were hanging out at the elemetary playground near his house and these kids were the most foulmouthed little f-ckers I've ever seen [irony noted]. They were talking about having sex and all this stuff they couldn't even begin to comprehend. I think it's good not to shelter your kids, but I mean, f-cking seriously. Ther are certain things we should keep them from and explain to them when they get older. Sex is definitely one of them.
 
Yup Hero, you're so right, the kids are so freaking nowadays. They say things they don't even understand, just because they heard their parents say it.
& when it's not parents, they learn things from other kids at school. I think it's really sad to see the greatest period of the life turns to be so wicked as the adult period. ::thumb::
 
If I compare how kids are now to how I was when I was a kid.. it's such a difference (and I'm only 18 now). Look at what kids in kindergarted are wearing.. how someone can be bullied about their clothes.. I don't even remember what I wore when I was that little, cause I didn't care, I just wore clothes so that I would be cold. I didn't start thinking about what I wore until I was like nine, and even then it had nothing to do with what clothes were "cooler"..
 
Yea, I've noticed stuff like that happening. This one time when I was at the mall I saw some little maybe 7-year-old wearing a belly shirt and the lowest low-riding pants I've ever seen....I normally don't even wear stuff like that...but I mean this girl was about 7 and already wearing stuff like that.
Oh and Ihave the greatest example of all this:
One time me and my friend were at her campground and we were just kind of walking around, and we went to go on the swings and all of a sudden this little 4-year-old comes over and gets on a swing next to me. She says hi, so i said hi back and then she started swinging and saying "I'm a slut! I'm a slut!" Over and over! I looked at my friend and I'm just like...ok...we should go..somewhere else....but then as we were walking away the girls twin brother came over and he said "Nice hips..hehehehe" to my friend. I mean really, come on people! A 4 year old. That's not good.

This is just sad. When children act like this there is some serious problem with the way they are brought up, or what they hear and see and experience. How can kids even know these words? Who talks to them about these things..? I don't know who to blame.. parents, teachers, TV, society..? Well, I'm one of those who blames everything on today's society, but that doesn't make anyone less responsible since we're more or less responsible for everything that happens. But there's no real solution to this. The only thing I can do is to come up with illogical solutions (like the one I mentioned in the thread I linked to in my last post).. which only makes me realize once again how hard and almost impossible it is to solve this problem.
 
I'm thirteen (fourteen in six days) and I don't curse at all. Okay, sure sometimes when I'm in my room alone and I stub my toe, I'll blurt a colorful word or two. Also, I sometimes write curse words and not notice. But I never curse in front of people.
One reason is because I can't really, cause my 5 year old sister might pick it up. But I've noticed that she gets it anyway. One example was we were playing a game and she just blurted out "dumbass", I was floored. One, how did she KNOW that word and WHY was she saying it. But she told me she got it from TV last night. (That 70's show)

It's really astounding that these kids know these things, but they get them for TV and their parents...that's what I find amusing. The parents say not to curse, but they do it themselves. Of course, the little kid is gonna pick that up.

I've noticed that happen too.. i mean on my street a 8year old.. tried smoking.. i swear all the time... probably too much.. and kids do repeat it.. i remember when my next door neighbours kid was about 6 and me and my friend was about 10 and we was swearing and stuff.. and she jus picked it up.. and was swearing all the time.. felt kinda bad.. you just dont realise that there gonna start doing it too.. mostly do it to look 'cooler'.. a two year old in a mini skirt and fishnet top.. crazy!!..
 
My friends sometimes tells me I curse to much. I tend to lett my guard down (i.e. not speak properly) and sound like a street kid. There's this expression in Sweden called "förortssvenska" and it's a word for the way foreign people speek swedish. I usually find myself talking like that and using bad words and etc. I have a younger sister that doesn't curse at all and this is good cause me and my dad... man we can curse. I guess I and my dad haven't exactly been good role models.

And I think kids talk like that cause they either got a parent, sibling, uncle, neighbour or someone near them that curses a lot.
I mean, yeah kids watch TV but it's all censored and stuff. Cartoons, with the exception of South Park, usually doesn't teach kid to talk or behave like this.

When I have kids I'm gonna stop talkig like I do now and make sure that no one talks like that around my kid, at least when I'm around.
