Their Coloured Jackets.

Xander and Jonathon wandered into the wooded glades with Willow, they were intent on collecting small coloured stones to stick to their headwear to match the jackets that had been made for them to wear in the school play.

Willow was the first of them to notice the black stones that had tiny baubles of colour dotted throughout them. It was Jonathon who asked their geometry teacher if he knew who could describe what sort of stones they were.

Jonathon handed Mr. Jackson several of the stones that they had found. After almost a week Mr. Jackson got back to them, he asked them if they remembered where they had found the small shiny matt black stones.

Willow said she had found those stones and given them to Xander to keep aside for her. A few hours later after much consultation they were able to tell Mr. Jackson the area where the stones had been found.

Jonathon asked if there was a specific reason why Mr. Jackson was interested in those specific stones. Mr. Jackson stated those stones were not like any of the others, the elements within the stones were akin to the building blocks of life and as such it was unlikely that they were natural to the planet.

Willow said she had noticed several small creatures in the area where the skeletal remains of carcases of packs of either dogs or cats were found. Mr Jackson went to the areas where the skeleton could be found, he took two lots enough for two complete figures.

Letting Willow watch over the tests he did to them. He told Willow that the tests had proved to be inconclusive as to the manner the other animals had died. They went back to the area and found three of the creatures wandering amongst the stones.

Putting them in small containers Willow was invited to watch how the creatures were tested. Willow was confused when it was discovered that the creatures had overgrown hollow canine teeth.

Watching them in the presence of other animal those that they had found seemed to eat their prey, then they noticed that the victims were not being eaten but they were being bitten about their necks.

Further tests on the dogs and the cats were evident that their blood had been sucked from their bodies by the creatures that Willow had shown Mr. Jackson, Mr. Jackson grew more confused when the results of those beings came back, they were found not to be of this world.

Mr. Jackson was able to tell Xander Willow and Jonathon that the beginnings of the beings must have travelled to the earth in the elements that were the building blocks of life within meteorites from some unknown planets.

That they had joined with beings from this planet to create a distinctly new variation of life, until a proper name could be found Mr. Jackson said that those beings seemed to gain the nutrition to extend their own life by drinking the life force from the cats and the dogs.

Mr. Jackson faced the intrepid trio, he suggested they search for other skeletal remains. Willow was further intrigued when she learnt that a new Library teacher would be arriving at the Sunnydale High school soon.

Willow was hopeful that the new Library teacher from an English Museum, or The English Museum would be able to tell her a bit more about the beings.

The End

Willow, Jonathon and Xander may have referred to their jackets as technicolour coats but that name might be thought of as to similar to another persons Technicolour Coat.
